GoogleWe had a very long and challenging journey buying our house through Philip Martin Estate Agents, but Elowen and Benji were incredibly supportive throughout the entire process.
We first had our offer accepted in January 2025, and after 11 months of delays we finally made it to completion. During that time we encountered several unexpected issues, including mundic, a title complication where a family member placed a caution against the title, and an ongoing litigation dispute. At times we genuinely didn’t know if the purchase would ever go through.
Elowen and Benji were fantastic from start to finish. They kept chasing things when progress stalled, kept us updated, and were always there to offer reassurance when things felt overwhelming. I’m sure they saw every possible emotion from me along the way, but they remained patient, supportive and professional the whole time.
Buying a house turned out to be far more stressful than I ever imagined, and I sincerely hope I never have to go through the process again! But if I ever did, I wouldn’t hesitate to use Philip Martin Estate Agents again. Thank you for helping us finally get there.

GoogleI have had 4 valuations from local estate agents including Savilles all were around the same mark. I received a call today (four days after a return call was promised) saying their valuation was 80k less than the other three! Luckily I had the other valuations and don’t need to sell. Do get other opinions before you commit to them. Sometimes estate agents price for their own benefit for a quick sale. The estate agent that visited priced it at 600-650 and Phillip Martin valued it at 500! And yes we will be selling. The estate agent at Phillip Martin that we spoke to knows our property as they worked in the village.

As we were not invited to visit the property, our valuation was necessarily based on current market evidence and the information available at the time. A full internal inspection can materially influence an agent’s view of value.
Valuations are opinions, not promises, and can vary depending on methodology and market conditions. Our team’s role is to provide a realistic, evidence-led assessment of achievable value rather than a headline figure designed to secure an instruction.
As you confirmed that you are not currently considering selling, the valuation was provided for information purposes only. Sellers are free to consider whichever professional opinion best aligns with their own expectations, which is precisely why there is a choice of agents.
With regard to timing, the four-day period referenced included a weekend. Contact was made at the earliest opportunity on the following working day (Monday), once the appropriate team members were available to discuss the matter.

However using Philip Martin was the best decision. From initial meeting with Aaron. To the full management & sale with the help of Elowen it was almost perfect.
As I live a distance away from Cornwall Elowen was my main contact, she kept me updated on every step. Unfortunately the first buyers stepped out just before exchange. Elowen & team were fast to re advertise and fill many viewing slots. Leading to a quick sale. I really appreciated the honesty when looking at all possible buyers and the different options & stages they were at. To ensure we had the most suitable offer within the timeframe available. No request was to much trouble, all question & queries were dealt with quickly. This was service that when above & beyond my expectations.
As I said the process was almost seamless which was exactly what I needed.
