Took time out of my day to view a property was chosen by landlord as new tenant on the 28/10 was told this by phone at 17:00 said I would call on 29/10 after lunch to pay required money. To my surprise when I called at the agreed time they had already given the property to someone else. If the communication is that poor between your employees then I would not trust them with your hard earned money! DO NOT USE, UNPROFESSIONAL COWBOYS.

I can’t say enough good things about Davies and Davies! We initially bought our house through them and were very impressed with the service. Really friendly, professional and great communication. When we came to rent our house we put out to over five agents, and Davies and Davies were by far the best, and also one of the most competitive management fees. Since being with them, they have been amazing, sorting all the various certificates, alerting us of any issues and arranging people to carry out the work. A huge relief, and they were always excellent at communicating and sharing anything, with always a quick response as well. First thing i would say is stay away unless you wanna go through alot of stress because they take forever to fix problems if at all... staff and management of the lettings team in Trowbridge are awful no understanding of customer service at all... even went as far as lieing about the way things were left after my tenancy ended. My thermostat was broken for over two months and i was told 'its not a priority and its summer months so you dont need it' far as im concerned im paying to live in a flat things should be in working order. Not to mention on arrival to rhe flat i was faced with 100 problems from day one.. with poor lighting to flat to fire alarms falling off the ceeling grease and dirt build up in the food cupboards and thats just to mention a few... after my tenancy ended i felt like i was speaking a different language to these people i finally rang the assistant manager as the manager is on holiday apparently.. and asked if i could have my landlords details to which she said id have to write in for that so i explained i will do that with immediate effect and if she could get back to me asap as she was sat in front if the computer, after some time i called back to chase the email and phone call i requested and she then said in a very sarcastic voice 'i got 21 days to reply to your email im busy' clearly trying to make my life harder because they know they are in the wrong and dont want me to expose them for what they are doing! To top it off they expecting me to pay £150 quid for cleaning that should have been done before i moved in but the fact i done it to high standard and they still wanting to charge me is completely insulting.. i cant actually good to say about them.

AVOID at all cost worst experience in my life. When I moved in to start with and had an issue they sorted straight away but that soon changed the fridge packed and they was in no rush to sort it it was only when I threatened to withhold rent they sorted it. mould was building up in the bathroom it had taken them months to sort it reported it several times front door wouldn’t close and and seal properly several attempts at repair but just needed a new door but landlord apparently didn’t want to do it the place had never been decorated carpets was old and worn out the garden well if you all it a garden more like a bog pit it was nowhere worth the money they was charging for it at the time. The staff well what a shower s#%t in my honest opinion very rude blunt and couldn’t care about your situation. getting the deposit back may as well forget about that they take there as long as they want and try charging for cleaning even tho the property was in better shape then when I got it charge a percentage towards decoration even tho most of the wall was marked as heavily marked when I moved in and to top it all they can charge you for this and don’t even have to do any of it after the deduction what a absolute bunch of joker so be very weary before you decide to go through them

Davies and Davies have acted on two occasions as a letting agent for us, we have always had excellent professional and friendly service from them and would recommend without hesitation. The initial set up is prompt, rates are very competitive and every effort is made to accommodate us as landlords. Property inspections are frequent and thorough with regular reports received and well documented. Philomena and the maintenance department are highly efficient providing contractors quickly for every issue which arises and the ongoing aftercare is excellent, nothing is too much trouble. The contractors costs are very reasonable and I have had no cause to be anything other than very satisfied with all works carried out. Our property has been let for almost 3 years and is in superb condition giving us total peace of mind as landlords and no concerns whatsoever.

I have been renting my current home through Davies and Davies for just over five years now. I have not had any issues with them, and found that they are always ready to help, either by e-mail, phone call or in the office. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the maintenance department always get any issues resolved quickly, while keeping up communication so I always know where things stand. I am happy to know that my landlord is always kept in the loop too, as this gives me extra security, knowing that I won't get any nasty surprises.

Poor estate agents with only one thing on thier minds, your money. Before handing the keys back to the agency i asked a member to come around and have a final check to see if the property was up to standard and if anything needed doing, the estate agent told me that everything was fine apart from a few little bits that i sorted on the same day. After handing the keys back and requiring the release of our deposit they said that they need to get the property professionally cleaned, replace all the counters in the kitchen and replace curtains in one the bedrooms. Yet the property was spotless, cleaner then it was when we moved in. And when we moved in the curtains were already dirty with foot prints and grime, so we changed them straight away and put them back up when we left. And if you need maintenance done then good luck! The cords on one of the sash windows snapped causing the window to no longer open and being such terrible wood the window had warped causing it to sit on the sill rather then fully close, thank god that happened in the summer and not winter otherwise id be left freezing for weeks.

My wife and I have been using Davies & Davies Lettings for 22 years. Their staff are unfailingly polite and knowledgeable. You can use your own preferred tradespeople or those provided by them for all mandatory, annual, or biennial safety checks. They keep us well informed, of new legislation requirements and when compulsory checks are due. This gives complete peace of mind and prevents tenants contacting us at all hours, or when away.They also do quarterly inspection’s, get quotes for work required and arrange mutually convenient calling times. They are contactable by phone, email, or by calling in to the branch. The quality of the service is exceptional. We are very happy to offer this online review, Paul Elphick.
