GoogleAbsolute nightmare ! We rented a property via seddons via emerald seddon and not only do they not return emails ,we had all our deposit taken (£1,800) minus £16.00!! Unbelievable that the property was not left in the state we had it! Considering we re painted kitchen, we had cleaners (theres of course), carpets cleaned and above excellent refrence from the owner of the property before we left (will post letter refrence) and they still took all our deposit! (10 years of renting and excellent refrences from previous landlords and never had our deposit kept! ..beware if renting through this company...

Dear Dee, Seddons Lettings register all tenants deposits with the DPS (Deposit Protection Service). As explained in my last email to you, the DPS offer a free adjudication service which you have agreed to use. Seddons were instructed by the landlord to carry out the checkout of the property you were renting. As you are aware, Seddons did not manage the property during your occupation and had not seen the property since you moved in, over 12 months prior. After carrying out the checkout inspection we reported our findings to the landlord who then requested the deductions, a copy of which was sent to yourself along with all the photos taken at the time. The landlord confirmed that they had issued you with a good reference but this was before they saw the property empty and the damage to the carpets. All in all keeping this short and sweet, having also bought my new property through yourselves and found that side of the experience just as reassuring and proficient I wouldn't buy or sell with any one else in the mid Devon area, all staff displayed a excellent level of customer service and knowledge whilst keeping a personal feel to the whole experience too.

GoogleI do not recommend using these estate agents. If you have any sort of problems it takes a very long time to sort, and you need to keep chasing them. And very sneaky with check in /check out inventory. Make sure you make notes on check in as the inventory they provide you with usually overlooks a lot of issues, which they try to charge you with on checkout
