I highly recommend anyone who is selling their house to contact Proffitt & Holt. We mainly dealt with Carol Burke and also with Sean Lewis. From start to finish they were great - very professional and very “On it” every step of the way. We haven’t sold and bought for a very long time and they guided us through the process, using their knowledge and experience to good effect. After our first buyers pulled out Carol saved the day and quickly found us new buyers which meant we were still able to buy the house we wanted. We can only say good things about our experience with Carol, Sean and Proffitt & Holt.

I did not use this company during my move however my seller did. Kirsty Drabik was my sellers estate agent and she was amazing to us when she didnt need to be! She kept us in the loop, emailing us every week & always checking in. We had such an awful time with our solicitors and Kirsty made it all bearable. Very professional estate agents throughout the whole process. Great photos and brochure produced to best showcase our property which immediately resulted in multiple viewings and offers coming forward. We had a number of abortive purchases due to the lower chain breaking, given the period of constantly increasing interest rates, but each time the property had to go back on the market we got a good number of viewings immediately resulting in fresh offers. As a result of the proactive marketing each time we were able to find new buyers promptly and therefore did not lose the property we had been trying to buy for many months. We successfully exchanged this Friday and big thanks go out to Phill Murray and Marlon Jagdeo for all their work progressing the deals. Phill in particular had the unenviable task of having to call us each time the chain broke but is such a nice guy that shows great empathy so if you are going to get bad news it made it a little more palatable , knowing that he would be back on the case to try and get some more viewings in. Last Friday was particularly challenging as we had a deadline to get exchanged or the deal would fall through again but Phill chased up where needed and kept me informed. Thanks again to all the team at Profitt & Holt for helping us realise our escape to the country.

Throughout what has been an extremely stressful and mostly unpleasant process Angela has been one of the few people involved who has maintained consistent communication with us and helped as much as possible to move things forward. We came up against a few unexpected hurdles: unbelievably slow solicitors, various parties in the chain booking holidays at the time our mortgage offer was due to expire and our vendor having the added time pressure of a baby on the way, and Angela was always quick to respond and clearly did her best to resolve the problems where possible. Angela was often at the end of the phone reassuring us things were going in the right direction which helped to ease our anxieties. Even on the day of exchange Angela was the first person to call us, even before the solicitors.

P&H were very effective at advertising our house, managing viewings and providing feedback. I think more care is required before advising a sale is proceedable as in my case another estate agent provided misleading information. In the stage leading up to exchange and completion of contracts, P&H could have shown more care in checking progress both up and down the chain; verified information from another estate agent and provided more realistic fact based views of when exchange and completion would occur. I would like to thank Phillip Murray for this unstinting help and advice to get my house sold.
