Landlord review

I have previously bought and sold through DB Roberts and had a very positive experience. I have recently become the landlord of a property and approached the lettings department to assist me with the management of my property. I was really pleased with the service I have received from them in particular Lisa and Megan who I have been dealing with. Their knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail has been outstanding. From initial contact, getting everything in place, advertising, referencing tenants has all been a smooth process. I feel my property is in safe hands and looking forward to working with them going forward.

If I could score zero I would. This company is absolutely shambles. We put our house up for sale with the Telford branch, didn’t hear a thing from anyone for the first 3 weeks of it being on the market, we had to call them. The marketing was non existent, just put on Rightmove, communication was non existent unless we contacted them. Viewings were extremely low due to no marketing being completed. The final straw with this company was when Lisa the branch manager lied to my husband. Absolutely shocking behaviour. After moving our house to a professional estate agent we sold within 7 days for full asking price. If you want to sell your house AVOID DB ROBERTS

I had some issues with the referencing part with a couple of mistakes. Nicole was fantastic! She helped and replied to any issues and raised requests to get the issues sorted. Nicole is an asset to the company and went above and beyond to help me without complaint. I don't know how I would of completed the referencing without her help and input.

We have been tenants for over 8 years now. Although I have never liked the 4 monthly inspections some Staff have made it a far less dreaded experience. Anthony was always lovely. Today Alison really made the process much easier and was lovely too. Maintenance people have been great to deal with too, most notably Billy, always enjoy his visits and his work is excellent. I will add on Bethany, who once she was made aware of the situation with our shower made sure it was replaced promptly. Then followed up with a phone call to be sure all was well. Thank you Bethany, that is as it should be, to be treated with kindness and courtesy and service that goes that extra mile.

This estate agent is very well known not only for being local but the high quality levels of customer service from the start of contacting them and all the way though it is at Top level. I have contacted these people to sell my Late parents home of which are handling it with professional service and support though out, I myself are looking for a place to rent & I've seen a very good priced place which I viewed on Monday 17th March and straight away contacted the company to start proceedings. Rental - when the tenancy isn't working

Like insurance, you only know how good a Letting Agent is when there is a problem with the tenancy. Have rented the same property via DB Roberts for nearly 20 years with few problems with changeovers, etc. Sadly the last tenant didn't fulfil the obligations of their agreement, including non-payment of rent. DB Roberts were extremely thorough with their paperwork and dealing with the tenant. They also arranged the flat clean-up and refurbishment, in a very short window, so that the property could be returned to the market within 10-days. As a private landlord, this took a huge amount of the stress away. Would suggest any landlords strongly consider take out the rent guarantee and insurance, as getting property returned is only getting more complex

Do not recommend!

Our experience with DB Roberts was very disappointing to say the least. Alarm bells started ringing when the valuers insisted on marketing the property too high; I gave the benefit of the doubt with this but it quickly became evident that the price was too high when I didn't have a single viewing for a month. Once I reduced the property price, I sold only for the buyer to pull out after 6 weeks. The buyer pulled out via email and DB Roberts failed to communicate this with us for a number of days. Once the house was put back on the market; we received some viewings. However, each time DB Roberts told us the viewers were proceedable; we later found out they were not! The final straw was when DB Roberts booked in a couple to look round our property; initially telling me they were proceedable and had sold their property? When chatting to the couple, they said they were homeless and didn't know what an agreement in principle was. We felt we were constantly being lied to all the time with DB Roberts. Needless to say, we marketed the property with another agent who sold it in 5 days and eventually completed. I would NOT recommended DB Roberts to anyone!
