Having used Wilkie May & Tuckwood over 6 times in the past 5 years for buying and selling they have been nothing but excellent and are always extremely professional. Having normally dealt with David, he is always very approachable and a very friendly guy. Buying and selling can sometimes be a stressful time but the whole process is always run very smooth and we are always kept in the picture with timescales, they always going above and beyond to get the sale over the line. This agent has been so unprofessional with our rental property. We are overseas so we put a lot of trust into the management of our house. First they were keeping our rental payment for months in their bank account before paying us. It got so bad that we had to get the tenants to pay us direct. They admitted to poor management and loss of our paperwork, including contract at this time. The annual report never reflected the true state of the property. 4 photos are not enough!! They should have been taking at least 30-40 photos. Damp that we found a year ago which we never knew about until we visited the property, render on garden wall falling off, cupboards next to oven burnt and discoloured, to name a few of the issues. This was so upsetting that we decided to sell the property. Then to add salt to the wound we had to pay the agent 1% of the selling price as our tenants bought it, who they had found for us. Be aware of that clause we had forgotten about it as it had been many years since we had signed this contract. You really need to be checking your house yourself to make sure it is being maintained. Sadly we were only too willing to maintain our property if we had known more. What we did see from the photos we did attend to but that also took months to get done, although emergency work was attended to promptly. As a result of the lack of upkeep we had to reduce the asking price. Lesson learned and hopefully the agents read this and manage their properties much better!!

We have been exceptionally fortunate to appoint WMT as estate agents to sell our house. All of the team provided a really positive experience during what was a long and stressful process due to issues further down the chain. From the beginning David McCaffrey shone in comparison to other estate agents who came to value the house. It is very clear that he has an immense depth of knowledge about the local area having worked in the business and in Taunton since he was very young. Subsequently he helped us to value the house realistically as opposed to getting a quick sale by valuing it too low. He was exceptionally professional, very proactive in marketing our house and compassionate. Rebecca and Emmajayne who conducted the viewings and hold the front desk position were always friendly and communicative. Once we had accepted an offer on the house we were passed on to Steve Loveday who helped us through the following 5 months. He helped manage our expectations and always spared the time to answer any of our questions with his expertise in a warm and friendly way. Terrible estate agency. Forced me to clean all carpets in rented flat even though the carpet cleaner couldn't understand why he was there as there was nothing worng with the carpet ! Would never use again or recommend to family, friends or enemy! Edit - my name is Luke Morris, I rented 28 Marino way. The reason you forced me to pay for the 1 year old carpets to he cleaned was because I smoked in the garage of the property which did not effect the look or smell of the carpets. I also requested if it would be possible to look for another property while with you to be told I would have to pay £300 agency fees AGAIN. This is why I left your agency all together and would never rent from you again. Typical estate agents, find a private landlord who has common sense like I have, makes life alot easier! Good luck to anyone who uses this ridiculous company and its policies.
