GoogleExcellent letting agencies, I have been using Newton King to rent out a terraced house for the past few years. Staff are very professional and efficient; very quick to respond and fair to both landlord and tenants. Excellent communication. Any maintenance issues are dealt with promptly by their contractors. I am very happy with their services, and they're very nice people too!

GoogleAs a relocation company, we deal with a lot of the agents in Taunton. Jess is always helpful and knowledgable. We consider NK to be one of the main agents that we go to when looking for accommodation for our clients.

GoogleStaff illegally stalled us when we tried to apply for one of their rental properties. Wouldn't allow us to have an application form as my partner is disabled and requires care which I provide, meaning neither of us can work and we have to claim benefits. This is a breach of The Equality Act 2010 as discrimination like this against disabled people is against the law. Ultimately it is up to a landlord to choose a tenant and if they choose to discriminate against disabled people and break the law then that is their moral choice and they can ultimately make that decision without disclosing it. However, this is the first letting agent we've used in Taunton that have actively facilitated the discrimination and carried it out on the landlords behalf. We informed Newton King of our complaint over the phone at the time but received nothing in the way of an apology or resolution. As a former law student we have a right mind to visit a solicitor. We have spoken to a retired solicitor who dealt with sales and lettings during her career and she has confirmed that Newton King acted completely irresponsibly and broke the law. The bottom line is, if you're looking for an empathetic and non-descriminatory letting agent, don't look here.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

GoogleI would definitely NOT recommend using these people to look after your rental property. They are slow to respond, have a predilection to send expensive tradespeople to fix issues and, worst of all for me, they have just deducted five months worth of monthly management fees (totalling £600) when the tenant decided to leave early. Its probably in the 'small print' but they definitely don't tell you about it and it is very sharp practice in my view. Avoid them, there are much better, more reliable and straightforward agents to use to rent out and manage your property.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleWe have recently moved into a new property to let via Newton king, they were very friendly, the whole process was very quick very easy, we’ve moved a lot in recent years due to unforeseen circumstances and the process Newton king use is by far the quickest and easiest to use. I would NOT recommend using Newton King estate agents as prospective tenants. Not once, but TWICE did they give a property away that we either had placed a holding deposit down on, or one that we had 'first refusal' on. Aside from it being down to the landlord's discretion as to who they choose as their tenants, the way in which they worded their emails made it sound as though we were the only option. And I quote: 'This will be available from the end of the month to the start of next so I thought I would mention it with you both having first refusal before listing' Little did we know 3 other applicants had been in the process as well, so we lost out on that property when they already had the deposit in their posession, we had accepted the tenancy conditions, and had NOT refused the property. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

GoogleThis what happened to me with Newton King After we completed the referencing and I paid the rent for the first month .They changed the move-in date ,which we agreed before we start , to unknown date as I have to wait for the current tenant to confirm when he will move out . Simply , they put me back to open waiting time after they wasted two weeks from my precious time !!!!!!. . Have to take my money and run form them . Be careful .

GoogleI have contacted this estate agents by telephone twice to ask about a property they have for rent and also submitted an online request for a viewing. Nobody has bothered to contact me back about it. I have been polite and courteous and now I just feel annoyed enough to leave a bad review! I have to say very disappointing and totally disagree with the 5 star rating they have. I guess they do not want my business and they don't even know anything about me. A courtesy call wouldn't have gone a miss, I appreciate tenants are often treated differently than those buying a property (because they make less money than sales maybe!) Maybe the property that still shows as available has gone, I guess I will never know. I will add that the reason I rated it as 2 stars is because the lady I spoke to yesterday was lovely and very apologetic and reassured me that is not the standard of service they usually provide. I believe she is most likely good to her word that she passed the message on, unfortunately he (the guy who deals with lettings) still hasn't called after 3 attempts and she can't be held responsible for this guy that is ignoring messages, so we'll take the £1500 per month we were quite able and prepared to pay and deal with an estate agent that wants our business. Sorry Newton King here is your bad review, maybe you should check if all of your staff are bothering to provide customer service, I understand that COVID has created issues, we have all been involved in this pandemic but surely a 5 minute phone call can be managed.

They've responded quickly to queries, dealt with any maintenance issues rapidly and have assisted my recent move with the upmost professionalism and support. It's encouraging to meet a team of wonderful, kind staff at this branch and I'm very grateful for all they've done over the past few months. If you're looking for an Estate Agents to assist with your new home, this is it! Many thanks for all your help and highly recommended.

GoogleI had agreed a sale for my property when the dreaded COVID-19 ground to a halt and that affected the agreement for a tenancy being managed by Newton King at my new abode. I had to shield and so was grounded for several months. The purchaser of my property and the landlord/Newton King agreed to restart my sale/contract for tenancy until 20th June. My move was physically completed on 23rd June (dreadfully hot temperatures at that time - phew!) My thanks to all concerned for easing my worries during this time. GoogleWe used Newton King for the sale of our house when our first agent failed to sell our property Newton King had us on their books for a week before they found us a buyer, the purchase of our new house was also through Newton King and I have to say they were excellent, our own sale had issues due to problems with land registry and the people at Newton King worked tirelessly liaising will all parties to keep the process moving so a big thumbs up from us and thanks for all the help.
