We have recently completed on a house through Bairstow Eves, and have found them to be extremely helpful. We listed our property with Purple Bricks, and I must say, in the future we will always be using Bairstow. Claire and the team have been more than helpful, they have consistently helped us, advised us and supported us on our journey, even when we were hearing nothing from our own estate agents. Thank you to all!

I can not thank the staff at Bairstow Eve's in Biggin Hill, in particular Caroline Price. Very professional and diligent, Caroline went the extra mile occasion after occasion. Always there to explain and keep me informed which was just what I needed when everything got a bit complicated and stressful. I have her to thank as she held my hand throughout the whole process and I would have faired far worse if it wasn't for her knowing her job and simply caring. She was instrumental in keeping the whole chain together as she ended up communicating with everyone throughout the whole chain (from top to bottom) from estate agents, conveyancing solicitors and individuals in the buying/selling chain, due to part of the chain being a private sale. If I ever look to move again, I know exactly who to turn to. Thank you, I can not recommend or sing your praises highly enough for all you have done.

Beware of using this agency. Completely untrustworthy. We had a multi-agency agreement with this agency and had agreed the same commission rate as with the other two agencies. In person, they agreed to the same commission rate and then surreptitiously increased it in the contract. It's only at the end of the entire venture - which is long and dragged out in itself, given I had to coordinate the agent and give daily instructions to follow up with the buyer, you're faced with a surprise sum in the final invoice. Do not recommend!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Bairstoweves is an absolute and utter disappointment to say the very least. We are students, looking for housing and now we do not have a place to live and will likely not find anywhere due to us cancelling many other viewings thinking we had a house. They pressured us for money to secure the property which they are not returning to us immediately despite initially giving the property to us. They then proceeded to tell us an hour after signing an agreement that they had already given it away. Definitely do not recommend for students especially.

Oh, where do I even begin with this glorious letting agency? If you're looking for a masterclass in ignoring customers, avoiding responsibility, and achieving absolutely nothing, then look no further! These guys are true professionals, professionals at not responding to emails, never answering phone calls, and generally doing less than the bare minimum. In fact, I think they’ve elevated “doing nothing” to an art form.Need something fixed? Good luck with that! Expecting a response to your tenth email or phone call? How adorable of you to think that would happen. They’ll take your money with the kind of enthusiasm you wish they showed for literally anything else, then proceed to vanish like Houdini.Recommending this agency? Only if you enjoy watching a slow-motion disaster unfold in real-time. If “complete incompetence” is your vibe, then these guys are your perfect match. Stay away, unless you want the full experience of banging your head against a wall while screaming into the void. Absolute shambles. Even one star is far too much for the customer service, or rather lack of it, they 'provide'. This is a joke! Stay away from this agency if you can. Even the complaint team (nicely called customer care team... lol) don't get the grip of what they are for.

I wished i had looked on here before i used them to sell my flat. Avoid at all costs. There is a a number of lies that were told by the staff1). they told me they only offer a fixed fee, but then told my neighbour a few weeks later that they offer a percentage. Even when i asked for an explanation of this I never got a response. How can you expect someone to make an informed choice if you withhold information.2) I was told the purchaser was in a position to move quickly. I was informed by the staff that she purchaser had applied for her mortgage, then i was told they had problems with the computer system (for 3 weeks), then the rates had changed and they were arguing with the bank trying to get her the initial rates. This is complete nonsense as the rates are what they are and if you don't get the rate you want then you go else where. All in all the purchaser took 9 weeks to apply for a mortgage and when I had asked them to put the property back on the market they did not. Unfortunately as I had moved to another part of the country, i could not easily go back. Even the after sales lady for the estate agent for the property i was buying stated that Bairstow Eves did not know what they were doing, and what they were saying did not make sense. 3) I was told to pay for this package and you would get money back, which never happened. Then when i questioned this you only get it back if you use the country wide conveyancers However, this was not explained at the time, again withholding information. On top of that they charge you for pictures. They would not listen regarding the price i wanted the property to be listed at making an excuse it would get lost in the search. That is utter rubbish as i had paid for premium listing, and you can filter the results. They listed parts of the property wrong, and even though i contacted them it was never fully fixed. They are the reason estate agents are hated, and if i found my dream property and it was listed with bairstow eves i would leave it.

As a Landlord I signed up to Bairstoweve's "Full Management Service", their most expensive option. Thinking that it would obviously cover all the costs of managing the property for me. It did not.

The start of the process was excellent as Bella got my property on the market really quickly and I soon had viewings and accepted an offer. Unfortunately, the process then all went a bit wrong once it went to the solicitors. Frustration was mounting rapidly but the advice I was given from Bella and James was, in retrospect, absolutely right and I'm glad I stuck with it. They were instrumental in getting the problems resolved and the sale has now gone through. Later than hoped but I can now see that given the issues this really was as quick as it could have been so I'm very happy.

We initially contacted this estate agency through Rightmove for a property valuation, and they were quick to respond, which led us to book an appointment. After the call, we received several follow-up messages confirming the scheduled time, including one on the day of the appointment. Unfortunately, no one showed up.I called the Romford branch directly, but only reached an answering machine. I left my details, expecting a call back, but that never happened. I even followed up with an email and checked my junk mail just in case, but received no response.This experience was highly disappointing. The lack of communication and professionalism was frustrating, and I found them to be very unreliable. I would advise others to avoid this agency.

Trying to buy a house. Lied continuously for a week that the seller hadn't got back to them, when I spoke to the seller, he told me they'd arranged new viewings. They never get back to you and seem very disorganised.They also try to sell you their own mortgage advisor and tell you that using them will give you an advantage.There is a reason their nickname is B*****d Thieves.

I have just removed my property with Bairstow eves in Caterham based on my recent experience I would not recommend them. Initially communication was good with regular updates however that was only for the first 2 weeks. I hardly had any viewings on my property and of the 3 viewings in 8 weeks that I did have I had to chase for feedback which I would have assumed would be standard practice for an estate agent to provide. It seemed they were not very motivated or interested in my sale and they blamed the low viewing numbers on ‘the market’ and ‘ the election’ . Whilst I know both of these things have had an effect on the market it seemed that this was an excuse being given to me due lack of proactivity. There didn’t really seem to be any proactive action being taken to insight any interest. I asked for my viewing figures on Rightmove and Zoopla and I am still waiting for this . I was told that all of their flat viewing numbers were low.Apart from listing my property on the sites there was hardly anything else that they did. Communication was little to non-existent, and I often felt when calling for updates I was being a ‘bother’ to them and was often rushed off the phone. I didn’t feel I was being listened to throughout the process. On the couple of occasions that I did pop into the branch I didn’t experience a very friendly environment and the times when I did call there was never really any update, and I was often told things like ‘oh someone did enquire but ill have to check and get back to you if there has been anything else’. This was quite a regular response from them. Due to low viewing numbers, I asked if they felt there was any changes that could be made and only at that point was it suggested that we move pictures around and change the property description and even after this I had to chase for feedback to see if this improved anything. I would have thought that making changes etc would be something that I wouldn’t have to push myself. I feel I wasted time being listed with them and they did not make the experience an enjoyable one. I only wish I had done more research on other agents in the area and not listed with them and I would encourage others to shop around before listing with them as this has set me back.

Professional, efficient and friendly service. All the staff at the Rainham Branch of Bairstow Eves have been outstanding and a pleasure to deal with.I originally used a lesser known estate agents, who did have cheaper fees, but I received a very poor service and consequently with no sale of my property. You really do get what you pay for.Being very apprehensive with estate agents in general, I decided to give Rainham (Essex) Bairstow Eves branch a try.They were absolutely brilliant and I cannot fault any of their staff.Thank you, Chris and your first class team.

TrustpilotKEEPING MY 3500 GBP (deposit & partial rent) for no reason
Partial rent & deposit is still not paid to me in more than 100 days after leaving the rented property on 31st March 2024. I had to leave the rented property early to move to mortgaged house. I have paid them 1500 GBP their non-sense early contract exit and property ad fees; still they are shamelessly keeping my partial rent (paid rent for full month April) and deposit of 2000 GBP, which is nearly 3500 GBP. I was not expecting their service to be the worst in the market. I am going to report to property ombudsman for sure. NO ONE SHOULD USE THEIR DISGUSTING SERVICES.

I would advise everyone to avoid Bairstowe Eves Great Barr. We received very poor disorganised service in our case. It all started badly with them getting our property mixed up with another! It ended badly with it taking 5 months to sell to our very keen cash buyer. When this same property was purchased in 2003 it was all done in less than two and a half months, obviously Bairstowe was not involved.

Most expensive agent we had come to assess our property. Did the bare minimum at every step of the way and were not helpful in any way imaginable. Did not want to get involved in anything and we were left to do our own sales & purchase progression while paying a hefty premium for the privilege. My advice would be to avoid Bairstow Eves and use a cheaper agent, while you'll still have to do a lot of the legwork yourself, you'll save yourself thousands of pounds.

Moved out of a rented property 29/07/2024. Chased and chased for updates about my deposit being returned only to keep being informed we are awaiting details from the landlady. According to my tenancy agreement I should have been informed within 10 days of any ‘proposed’ deductions. 3 weeks on and no further forward. If I was in breech of the tenancy agreement they would be quick to act but when it’s the other side.. nothing!

One of worst letting agent , they don’t have any ethics, they just need money 💰, worst customer service, we got a flat for rent in worst condition, they gave without cleaning, used toilet didn’t even flush , really shame on them, when we gave a complaint they didn’t even apologise, and flat is also worst condition, it needs to refurbish but gave for rent. Full of oily kitchen, got shocked after seeing bathroom. Owner will not pick calls, this letting agent will not take responsibility, but they signed on behalf of owner on the agreement. But surely I will not leave them, I’ll post in every forums.
