We purchased our first home with Davidson Homes this year. From the very start Sharon the sales manager at Thorpebury in the Limes, Leicester, was very attentive to my husband and my needs and answered all our questions and reassured us and checked in with us throughout the whole process from looking at plot to where our new family home was to be build to allowing us to view it’s construction right through to my family moving in on day one. The whole process was really simple and Sharon put us at ease and was always there for us every step of the way. The best customer service we received from Sharon and her team! Thank you Sharon! Sharon is truly a gem. I highly recommend Davidsons Homes

Be warned…..

Be warned…..I purchased a new build house just over a year ago at The Paddocks in Stathern. When I rang up initially I specifically asked about the ‘affordable housing’ planned for the estate. This was showing as opposite the house I wanted to view. I did not want to view if this was the case for a number of reasons and because it de-values the property. I was informed by the sales representative at the site that local authorities were not interested in the allocated houses and so they were to be sold under the ‘local housing scheme’ instead. I was told this had been agreed. I went ahead and viewed my house. I asked verbally again to the same sales representative and was reassured every time that I had no need to worry because the houses would not be for local authority tenants. I went ahead and purchased my house which I am very pleased with.

The process is great until you actually…

The process is great until you actually buy the house. Their post-sales team are unwilling to help and are awful to talk to. We bought a house that was stood for a few months and it had over 150 “items” that needed addressing. Communication is non existent, especially from their Aftersales Advisor Sam who sends a templated response rather than actually addressing the issue. You can spend over half a million on a house and they will not bother to quality check it properly at all - we found scuffs all over the doors, kitchen units, paint marks and Mastic marks everywhere and just generally poor finishes.

Whats the point of an appointment

Hi. We had an appointment booked at the Thorpbury site. However when we arrived the sales agent was already with a customer. What is the point of booking an appointment if we aren't seen to? She just asked us to visit the show homes and left us to it. Funny because my mortgage in principle is high but she didn't know that and hence just thought we weren't serious buyers. Oh well more business for DWH or Bloor!

They installed a crossing at my door…

They installed a crossing at my door step making it a meeting point and refused to remove it. I haha went to work one day and came back home to a crossing. No consultation no notice, the dog goes crazy every minute, the kids are agitated, I can’t sleep well at night and all this happens 7 years after buying the property. They dismissed all my concerns and said they don’t care about how I feel and that they will do as the wish

Zero duty if care for customers! Not recommended

Bought a Davidson house and had several issues, from leaking bathroom which we didn't realise for over 2 years as we were just 2 in the house and never had to use the second bathroom until when we had a baby, only to realise damp ceiling months later in the toilet directly under the bathroom. Davidson refused to take responsibility for this poor worksmanship, claiming we should fix it ourselves because its just past 2 year mark.

Really not impressed with Davidsons customer service. I’ve made several phone calls asking Davidsons to resolve a problem with their new knightswood estate in Rothley. I’ve also tried contacting the site manager - still no phone call from anyone, I think just over a week to get a call back isn’t asking too much - not impressed

BEWARE!!!!!’

BEWARE. I bought a four year old Davidson Home from the original purchaser. I downsized from a considerably larger property and did so to reduce upkeep and energy costs, however, THIS HOUSE IS FREEZING AND COSTING MORE MONEY TO HEAT THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE!!! Given their apparent ‘better than most’ reputation it seemed a no brainer but their guarantees are meaningless. We are not the original purchaser which means we don’t have any for fixtures and fittings even if we were its only two years. Ten years NHBC they say is structural which doesn’t apparently include windows and doors. The FENSA guarantee for the windows is relative but NOT when they say their supplier went bust. They won’t give me the companies name or address to back it up either. It took months to get an Energy Performance Certificate out of them during the purchase. Now I know why. It seems they rely on generic certification which gives then carte blanche to fit any old rubbish to save them money. There are serious draughts coming through the windows and we are freezing and paying a fortune to NOT be warm, They want nothing to do with it. If you are in one of these houses or considering buying one you should be VERY careful.

What a place and people

What a place and people. My son and daughter in law bought their first home and the people were so nice. Brandon and Stuart are the 2 nicest site managers we could have asked for. Any issue they have helped them out massively. The sales ladies have also made me want to look at buying due to their kindness and how welcoming they were. Excellent build quality, excellent team

I’ve recently purchased my first home at Sunloch Meadows and trusted Davidsons in the process. Despite initially not being too impressed with the first salesperson I saw, I did take a second visit after speaking to Kelly. Kelly couldn’t have been more brilliant in this process and really restored my confidence in Davidsons. If I had a question about anything minor, she would call the site manager straight away or make a note and come back to me with the info. This made it so much less stressful than everyone was preparing me for.

We Cannot recommend Davisons homes and Sharron in particular, at Arkall farm, enough. Nothing was too much trouble- even during out of office hours and days off, Sharon saw our entire process through until the very end- and even after completion day! So glad we stumbled across this development. 2 weeks in and we are still as in love with the our home as when we first saw it. I can’t praise Davidsons enough! From the minute we walked on site, Sharon was absolutely fantastic. We’ve been in our home almost 2 months and the support has been second to none, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot thank Sharon from Arkall Farm enough for her patience and understanding. She has been brilliant. She has discussed every aspect of the house with us and has been so very helpful answering all our questions. Currently waiting to Exchange Contracts on our new property and really looking forward to moving in. Whilst writing I have to mention the Site Manager Dom. There was a slight issue that needed attention. Dom met me at the site midday, agreed that a change was required and to my delight the alteration was completed by 4pm that same afternoon.
