TrustpilotTruly apalling company
Firstly with a Truspilot score of 1.3 it's clear Zoopla is one of those organisations that simply doesn't care about it's service to users.
I don't know how businesses expect to thrive when they are bad businesses and they know they are bad!
Personally I wouldn't use Zoopla since I discovered they will only give price estimates if I give them my email so they can sell it to spamming companies ... not going to happen Zoopla!
Zoopla will fail and no doubt blame everything except themselves.

I have been chasing regarding a one bedroom flat which was very convenient for me and was available from the September. Since I had 2 months notice period for the current apartment I had planned in well advance and was happy with the same .There was some access issues for viewing the property which I completely agree but at least I should have been updated regarding the same.

TrustpilotInsufficient data to provide valuation!
Inputted postcode into zoopla website to establish current value of house with a view to understanding current local market. In order to do this I had to give my email address, name etc. Result was they had insufficient information to provide an estimated valuation yet they took my personal information. The website confirmed the price we paid for the address some 8 years ago, yet were unable to determine the current estimated value! For my needs, a complete waste of 5 minutes and I won’t be using or recommending Zoopla to anyone.

Hi Jamie,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We're really sorry to hear you feel this way about our valuation model.
The Zoopla house price estimate is based on data fed through an automated valuation model (AVM), which analyses property information on all 29 million UK homes on a continuous basis. Our data comes from multiple sources based on a number of data points relating to property sales, values and home characteristics throughout the UK, including publicly available data such as that from HM Land Registry and Registers of Scotland.
The accuracy of Zoopla estimates is influenced by a number of factors such as the current market values of homes, the quality of the information available on the given property and the availability of comparable properties in the area. This means that unique properties or those where the housing market is slower, may experience less accurate estimates.
We receive new data all the time and above-average variations will be largely a result of changing property characteristics and the comparability of the property to the local market. Therefore, discrepancies and/or increases or decreases such as you have outlined are not unusual.
Here is a Help Centre article that will give you more information on where we get our data from:

To help with your alerts you ccan use the keyword filter on your alerts:
1. Use the Keywords box to tailor your results.
Search for single words by typing them in, comma separated, e.g. garage, garden, bath.
Search for phrases by adding quotations marks, e.g. "Detatched". You can exclude terms too by prefixing them with '-' e.g. -semi-detached, -terraced, etc.
2. Click Update results

TrustpilotAlgorithm reassessment time
Really not sure what's going on with Zoopla valuations but, contrary to government estimates and local sales stats, they show a near 10% drop in house value in my area over the past 2 years with no obvious rationale. Makes me seriously wonder whether their algorithm is fit for purpose, or if it's subject to manual intervention. It's almost as though Zoopla is trying to stimulate demand by undervaluing, but the effect, of course, will be that owners will keep their properties off the market. Or is Zoopla possibly continuing to down-value as a form of indirect attack on the Labour government's policies?

Google query said free valuation straight away. Half way through enquiry to get valuation ONLY as not want to sell I realised I was going to get inundated with calls/emails as it was asking too much info.
I backed out of valuation but am still getting calls and emails as it registered it although I did not complete it.
DO NOT USE valuation unless you want to sell as loads of estate agents phone and email.
Contacted Zoopla and they said there is nothing they can do and I have to answer them all. How bad is that!!!

Trustpilot'Malicious Falsehood' under Section 3(1) of the Defamation Act 1952
I have now contacted Zoopla twice to advise them that they are posting incorrect information about my property. But they refuse to change it.
They are posting that it was last sold in 2000.
I brought this property in 2005, after it had been extensively renovated and increased significantly in value.
HMLR have the details of my purchase. Therefore Zoopla are knowingly posting incorrect information and refusing to correct it. Obviously this information has been available for over 20 years.
I have never given permission for Zoopla to post any information about my property and as they have and are aware it is incorrect, it is their responsibility to correct this.
I believe this to be a case of 'Malicious Falsehood' and will pursue a claim should Zoopla not take responsibility for their actions.

TrustpilotMisleading Offer
Zoopla’s advertising statement that you can get an evaluation of your property from them is very misleading. What you think is a simple transaction of giving your personal details over for a quick approximate evaluation, ends up being a barrage of calls, messages and emails from various estate agents. All I wanted to know is how much my property was worth for my own knowledge, that’s what I thought I was getting. DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFO if you’re just looking for an evaluation for personal knowledge. This should be made clear to all users before they give their details over, not after.

Hi Geraint,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We're really sorry to hear you feel this way.
Our local market data is based on analysis of thousands of listings and sold prices in your area and across the UK market.
At this point in time we publish information for each district council area. Where an outcode, that is the first part of a postcode, crosses one or more district council boundaries, we allocate it to the district council area with the larger number of homes i.e. the largest volume of housing stock.
However, we appreciate this is not helpful when you are looking at your local market stats and I apologise for the inconvenience this is causing you.

TrustpilotFilters need a lot of work!
As much as I love Zoopla and found nice flats through it before, I wish they worked harder on making their filters more stringent. I am not interested in living in shared accomodation at all, I'm also past my student years and definitely not retiree. However, whenever I exclude those options as well as chose properties with "maximum 2 beds" shared accomodation still shows up in my search to a point where it dominates the pages!!! Sometimes in smaller towns there's obviously not many choices so it's easy to scroll through 2-3 pages, but for example in places like London in Bristol you need to read every entry carefully because the website treats "1 bed minimum, 2 maximum" as a "1 bed in 6 bedroom shared house" and makes a search tiresome.

TrustpilotNot Happy With Zoopla
Where do Zoopla get their estimates? An algorithm? Estate agents? Why do all the houses in my village that I looked at tonight seem to be experiencing “High Confidence” while mine is showing as “Low Confidence”? How do Zoopla know what work you have done on the property, what outbuildings you’ve put up? They don’t appear to take into account the position, privacy or any other nuances of rural properties. For a brick build in a town they have a lot of comparables to work with, but these estimates can be very damaging to unique properties in a small village.
*** It would be extremely helpful if owners could add any improvements they have made to the property and for them to be reflected in the zoopla estimate.

this is not sustainable for anyone's income or as a business model, house rentals should be no more than £500- £800 at best, these houses keep coming back to the market over a period of six months, because tenants are moving out to avoid paying the rip off delusional prices being quoted on this site...

TrustpilotI am due to sell my property and Zoopla…
I am due to sell my property and Zoopla historical data is incorrect as they missed off my purchase back in 2009 it therefore makes the house look 30K cheaper than it actually was . They have the house listed as leasehold when it is freehold. I tried to rectify these issues but it appears you cannot and Zoopla customer care doesn't exist. Do not believe these sites (and Rightmove) as they are factually incorrect.
Rightmove responded and referred me to HMLR data which i downloaded and is completely correct (although i forgot that i had purchased the property a year earlier). Transaction history
A 2008-11-28 £100,000
Detailed address
street Heneage Road
locality Grimsby
town Grimsby
district North East Lincolnshire
county North East Lincolnshire
postcode DN32 9NJ
Attributes
property type terraced
estate type freehold
new build? no
It does beg the question if the data on land registry is correct why is yours so wrong??
----------------------------------------------------
Well Zoopla you need to get your act together as Rightmove have and they clearly exhibit a professionalism that Zoopla fail to have. Rightmove have stated that as i have provided confirmation from land Registry of the correct information held by land registry they will seek to amend, manually, the record for my property. They acknowledge that referring to the property as leasehold when it is freehold is clearly wrong and would affect a sale. Now when i come to sell and i get arguments over the value and status (leasehold/freehold) because "it says so on Zoopla" i will be looking to bring a claim against Zoopla under the Tort interference with goods act 1977,as a wrongful interference, due to your misleading and factually incorrect information that Zoopla are stating to the world at large . It is just pure negligence on YOUR part.

Extremely disappointed with Zoopla for allowing dodgy agencies to operate under their name and doing nothing to protect customers. It feels like they are covering and supporting unprofessional companies instead of helping people who have been treated unfairly.
1505 LTD Properties Agency has refused to refund my daughter’s £1300 deposit, which is completely unacceptable. They are holding onto money that rightfully belongs to her, causing unnecessary stress and financial difficulty.
We raised this issue expecting Zoopla to take responsibility and investigate properly, but they have shown no real concern or action. A company like Zoopla should not allow agencies like this to continue misleading customers and damaging people’s trust.
I strongly advise everyone to stay away from both Zoopla and 1505 LTD Properties Agency. Be very careful before dealing with either of these house agencies, as customer protection seems to be the last thing they care about.

They still have the old info on the website anns it’s been over 2 years so no excuses there. I was told to update my house information which I’ve done but the price hasn’t been updated. If they are giving you a valuation they should update the price on theire Zoopla website to match that. Hi Oatsmania,Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We're really sorry to hear you feel this way about our valuation model. It's great that you've had an agent come to value your home! The data that powers our estimates comes from a number of trusted sources including HM Land Registry, Royal Mail, Ordnance Survey and Registers of Scotland. As our estimates are based on publicly available data, they are guides only. Here is a Help Centre article that will show you more about where we get our data from:https://help.zoopla.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/360005677897 To maintain the accuracy and integrity of our AVM, it is not possible to refine or change house price estimates manually. Renovations will take time to be recognised by the Automated Valuation Model. When we advise our users to obtain an agent valuation, it is not done for the benefit of our algorithm. It is done so that you can obtain a real and formal valuation of your property. An agent valuation is the most accurate indication of your home's value. If you wish to contact us directly with your feedback and discuss it in more detail, you may do so via our designated Help Centre:https://help.zoopla.co.uk/Many thanks,Zoopla Support
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
