We sold our house with Halfway and they were fantastic. The first person to view made an offer and Liam was great, getting the full asking price. The whole process was seamless down to Halfway Estates who went above and beyond to keep the chain complete, in difficult circumstances. They were simply fantastic and we recommend them wholeheartedly. They also were highly competitive in the rate they offered, saving us money.

Avoid at all cost

Avoid at all cost! Didn't put up a for sale sign, no proactive communication, try to get you to pay extra £500 commission as an 'incentive' for them to do their job of selling your house!!! Tried getting out of the contract early which was a continued "no", but funny that as soon as the Ombudsman was mentioned they dropped us like a stone. Once the property was off the market, after 12 weeks, I was then woken up very early one morning to find a man trying to put up a for sale sign...say no more!

Lazy and amateurish

Extremely poor, lazy and amateurish. It's hard to know where to start but I suppose we should have been wary when our initial documents arrived with my name spelt wrongly. When I queried this, I was told it didn't matter. Call me old fashioned but I like my name spelt correctly - especially on legal documents!? Emails were often full of mistakes and the branch manager even told me that the 'bass rate' had been cut, 3 hours before the announcement had been made - psychic apparently.

Misrepresentation and fake description

Canterbury branch. Description for a 2-bed flat was misleading with the facts glossed over to make the property more appealing and generate interest. A lot of the details such as length of lease, annual service charge, ground rent etc to name but a few were erroneous. The property was clearly overvalued with the title saying Guide Price £160k but the buyer still looking for much more like £20k more. It was also a 2-bed but the living room had been converted into a bedroom and the property listed as 3-bed. Again, false information presented akin to the tactics of a dodgy used-car salesman. Had I been privy to the factual information in the first place, I would never have wasted my precious time in viewing the property.

An Estate agent that is not interested in selling houses!

I called them to arrange a viewing and was told they would ring me back when a salesman was back in the office so I waited in for the afternoon and they never rang back. I called the next day told them I had waited in and didnt get an apology and was just told everyone was in a meeting. The property is listed with another agent so I just called them and arranged a viewing with them instead. Now looking at reviews on here I feel I have dodged a bullet! I would be most unhappy as a seller if I thought my agent was letting potential buyers slip away like this, especailly on a property listed with multiple agents!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve never made a secret of my general dislike for estate agents, it’s something that’s come from a few painful past experiences buying and selling houses. So when I instructed Halfway Family Estates to sell my home, I’ll admit I was cautious. To their credit, Liam and the whole Halfway team completely changed my view. They went above and beyond throughout what was a particularly challenging sale and purchase. Their attention to detail, constant communication, and willingness to take on the stress so I didn’t have to was genuinely impressive. I can’t fault the effort, professionalism, and care they showed from start to finish. Halfway Family Estates are 5-star and worth every penny, I wouldn’t go anywhere else, although I dont intend to everyone sell again 😅

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Lovely staff though. NO actual advice given. Didn't sell it but equally gave no advice about the little changes we could have made which would have helped us. The tenant left it in bad condition and we never visited the property. We relied on them to give us advice, they marketed it, conducted viewings but not once did they say - you should do x & y and this will help the sale. Persuaded us to use their auction option as 'in all the years of me working here, we've never not sold one at auction' - ours didn't sell and we had to pay £6k. We removed it, went on with another agent having done some work and then it sold straight away.

I Am not happy with the service i received in connells kingsthorpe. The team were hard to communicate with and not pro active very arrogant and also at time very rude at times particularly the branch manager,My sale was delayed and eventually leading me to pull out because after 9 weeks after accepting an offer the buyer hadn’t even been ID verified.If you want to sell your house please avoid at all cost.

The worst estate agent I have ever…

The worst estate agent I have ever used. If your looking to rent avoid them, once your in the property expect no help from them. If you have issues that require resolution with the property, they will not give you any assistance. We had several issues and everytime we wanted assistance nothing, they are always not reachable on phone or they never call back when they say they would.

Plymouth Mutley Branch - what a joke

Plymouth Mutley branch is possibly the worse estate agent in Plymouth. Found a buyer quickly with lots of calls and pressure to accept a deal, even had the phone put down on me for not agreeing to a stupid price, finally agreed a price then boom radio silence, hardly ever reply to email, when phoning up to speak to Manager Sam you always get told he’s busy, no chance of getting a call back. The buyer pulled about a month back as informed by my solicitor. To this day no call from Connels to say it fell through. It’s no wonder the buyer pulled out if he was treated like me by Sam and his team. They have cost me hundreds of pounds due to their incompetence. I could go on and on. My advice would be to avoid at all cost.

Please please do not use this company. I dealt with the Northampton office. I am a Landlord. Nearly 8 months on I have received no rent dealing with Olivia Williams in the legal department have very little communication from her. Taken rent protection and have received not 1 single penny they are supposed to pay out after 2 months. My health has deteriorated as a result of this.

Don’t let or Buy the property in Alton Mews Aylesbury, HP19 8JZ.Be careful if you’re still going ahead with this property.The property is poorly built and the painting and the electrical works are of very poor quality. I would have given 0 rating if possible. If you have gone through them for letting and if you have paid some deposit, you are never going to get any money back. I paid £1146 as deposit and stayed there for 10 months. It was very new property. Already there were marks on the bathroom floor of paints, and in checkout they have mentioned as the floors are not cleaned though it was given back in exact condition i got. They conducted the checkout without my presence. The bulbs keeps flashing even after changing them already 3 times in last 10 months. our property was in the ground floor, so due to the moisture the walls were getting moulded regularly even after cleaning. The edges of every walls were showing wear and tear due to the poor quality of painting. The property was handed over well cleaned and they haven’t returned me a single penny as they say it requires deep cleaning. I wasted my 2 days to clean them. Deduction of some amount is acceptable, but whole amount for due to the poor quality of the building is not acceptable at all. Rubbish customer service and Mr Alexander was of no help

Terrible exerience with Connels

I am not sure if all estate agents are money grabbing, corner cutting vultures but my experience with Connels Worcester has been horrible. They ofcourse charged me with a £600 tenant finder fee, and have convinced me that the zero deposit scheme will ensure if there are any damages to the property they will be paid by the tenant(s). Ofcourse the apartment was left in shambles despite having regular inspection visits at my request and the repairs done to the flat were horrible. I would recommend finding a different management company to manage your property if you cant do it yourself. Absolute livid by their horrible service

AVOID!!!!! These are the worst solicitors to use for buying and selling your property. They are unprofessional, rude, accept no responsibility when things go wrong and speak to you in a derogatory tone, like your an inconvenience for asking for an update.Poor communication with internal departments and actually bad mouth their own solicitors! Do not speak to external companies to chase enquiries, or update them. Everything is done via email, no personal touch. Dismiss your complaints and bully/threaten you when you question things.Increase fees which they don't tell you about or ask you to authorise then refuse to explain them when you receive your final bill.The list is endless!

Appalling service

Made an appointment to view a property. For 3 days in a row they sent me a reminder to attend the viewing. I arrived & waited in the bitterly cold weather for someone to arrive. On phoning the company I was told someone would be with me in minutes. After a further 10 minutes I phoned for a taxi to collect me. The agent did eventually arrive but I told her that I no longer wished to view the property. I thought I would've received an apology from the branch manager but no such luck. Avoid the company.

Like all estate agents, they are vague and not capable of providing buyers with the required information. Basically estate agents book in a handful of viewings, act as a path through to portals like Rightmove and that’s it. The house sells itself, not the agent. They just collect commission for hardly any work.

The lettings team at Redhill are pretty good but let down by very poor maintenance. As a landlord I am very disappointed. Significant damage has been caused by a shoddy repair and it’s causes me an awful lot of trouble, so much so that I’m considering instructing my solicitors.
