When I initially went into Ashbrooks in Yarm Helen impressed me with her local knowledge not only the area but my house and street! I got 3 estate agents to value my house and Helen really understood my needs. I was not in any rush and she believed in my house from the onset. I'll be honest people questioned me going with Ashbrooks as there are more established agents in Yarm but I trusted the process and their knowledge. Helen and her team made the entire process as smooth as one could ask for. The house exchanged this week and I am beyond thrilled that I went with this agency. Amy the Sales & Lettings director actually takes the time to speak with clients! She’s knowledgeable & even told me which of my portfolio not to sell yet as I wouldn’t achieve the correct money. All the other agents I spoke to told me to put them all on, which is obviously in their interest and not the best advice for me as a client. Amy advised Ashbrookes can manage works to get my property up to the best standard to sell & where my next purchases for Holiday let’s should be. Excellent knowledge. Popped into ask about a property and was very impressed with their customer service, knowledge and help in looking for a house, if i decide to sell my home i will be definitely using them. I also asked advice about selling a rental property we have, as I was tired of managing it myself with all the Landlord requirements now, it's a minefield making sure you are all upto date with legislation. I had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience with this agency, and I feel compelled to share my negative experience to warn others about their unethical practices. As a student, I entrusted them with my housing needs, only to be taken advantage of when it came time to retrieve my deposit at the end of my tenure.They find ways & means to retain students' hard-earned money. Throughout my tenancy, I took great care of the property, adhered to all agreed-upon terms, and left the place in the same condition as when I moved in. Despite this, I was stunned to discover that they were attempting to withhold a significant portion of my deposit without any valid justification and on top of it telling me that I must pay council tax as a student.It is clear that the agency prioritizes profit over integrity and customer satisfaction. Their disregard for ethical business practices and their unwillingness to engage in fair and transparent dealings are deeply concerning. I strongly advise anyone considering renting through this agency to proceed with caution.
