GoogleFantastic service provided from start to finish, can highly recommend Jude and Richard for their professionalism, ongoing communication and friendly, personable natures. Provided excellent photos which got multiple viewers into our property from the day the listing went live and sold within 2 weeks. Would definitely use again - although hope not to be moving for years to come :)

GoogleHighly recommend James & co. No matter the time of day (or night!) Richard & Jude were on hand to help. We sold our house in Harlow & purchased our new property in Dunmow with Richard who was just so helpful. The whole process was incredibly stress free, every step was explained with patience.

GoogleUnfortunately we had a negative experience with this estate agent. Contacted them to enquire about a property for sale in Dunmow. The agent at first wasn’t sure if that particular property was for sale or letting therefore promised to find out and call us back but he never did. We contacted them again in order to arrange viewing but were told this would not be possible and he “did not want to waste anyone’s time on this” as our current property was not on a market/yet sold. We found this behaviour very unprofessional from both the property owner and the agency to dismiss customers like that without knowing their full circumstances. Would definitely avoid this estate agency in a future.

GoogleJude and Richard were very friendly and welcoming. Communication was great from start to finish and they were always happy to answer our many questions. They offered assurance when we needed it and their attitude was always positive and proactive. They clearly have a very good understanding of the area. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending James and Co to family and friends and would definitely use again should the need arise.

GoogleWent to view a property in sheering with them, they messed up all the timings, so all 4 of the viewers turned up in their couples (us with our young son) the estate agent was so embarrassed but explained he was just a viewings consultant and didn’t do much besides Saturday viewings, the owners son was there, so showed us around, you could tell he was mortified that we’d all turned up at the same time (to be clear it was not described as an “open house” day of viewings), and we never even got a call about feedback.

GoogleDefinitely not Dunmow’s Leading Agent. We were first time buyers, without a chain. We put in an offer of 405k on a property at the top of Manston Drive, Bishop’s Stortford. James & Co rudely pooh-poohed our offer, which we then increased to 410k. They still told us we were wildly under. Despite being willing to increase our offer further, we left it there as we felt they were not a pleasant company to deal with. We moved into our first home in Sep 19 using a different estate agent. We note that the James & Co property at the top of Manston Drive sold for 405k in November 19...not sure what they were playing at, or if they even put our offers forward to the owners of the property. It felt at times like they were keeping the property back for someone they knew. Would not recommend or trust to sell my property.
Perhaps before writing reviews you should either get the right estate agent or get your facts correct. The only property we listed in that area in 2019 was a property in ‘Heathrow’ Bishop’s Stortford. We have never listed a property in ‘Manston Drive’. Our property was listed at £450.000 and completed in July 2019 for £445,000. So we achieved £35,000 more than you claim you offered and completed three months earlier. Our client was very happy with the price and service. I could of course provide public domain information but this would be unfair to the new owner or past client. However, if you email the office with your details, we would be very happy to confirm the address. Then perhaps you would respectfully withdraw your review. Or do we have one of those trolls...

GoogleSelling a house is a stressful business especially if it was not yours. I recently had to sell the house belonging to a late aunt. The whole experience was fraught with difficulties but Richard at James & Co smoothed the way for us. His level headed and calm approach made for steady progress throughout the journey. Without his broad knowledge and advice we probably would have given up at several points along the way. Worth every penny.

GoogleDo not buy through this company unless you have time to let your purchase just run it’s course. Richard will be your ‘mate’ when he feels like it, but he won’t do anything to assist you like a ‘mate’ would. He is the least proactive person I have every dealt with (having experience as a sales agent myself). He will not do sales chasing, you’ll have to do your own (which has actually cost me money through my solicitor!) And his version of chasing something is calling at 11am then leaving it til the following day. Our experience with this agent was nothing but frustrating, even if I saw my dream house advertised, I would never pursue through them again.

He was proactive when things got tough during the actual sale process and went the extra mile to get everything through and help tie up the loose ends.
