GoogleThis is the second time I've used SM and I was not disappointed. Although the sale took some time to go through (mainly due to the council searches and red tape) I was kept informed by Alissa and her team with regular updates and any queries I raised she dealt with them in a prompt manner. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

GoogleOwning a Financial Services company specialising in Mortgages for over 20 years, I was impressed by there claims in regard to selling my property. Brochure was OK but service was terrible, never returned calls, removed Rightmove listing as they swapped the property from one office to another. Poor quality buyers, only idea they ever came up with was to drop the price. Finally found a buyer who said it needed a new roof SM said I needed to drop the price another 10k. On top of the 20k below asking price. Saved by my other agent J du P. who got me the full asking price a week later homebuyers survey showed roof was perfect.
Hi Rob, As an owner of a company I would expect you to understand the importance of honest reviews. This really is not an honest review. Our team work extremely hard to make sure our customers are looked after. We have sold hundreds of millions of pounds worth of properties, and we have hundreds of happy customers. GoogleFriendly enough as agents but they just don't listen to or act on simple instructions. This can make communication much slower and more difficult than it needs to be. Told them several times to communicate messages by email because I was unable to receive calls whilst abroad. And what did they do? Kept trying to call me, and this resulted in much delay and poor levels of communication which could easily have been avoided. I may actually have been minded to put in a higher offer in good time had they complied with my very simple request.One can't help but get the impression that the staff are too lazy to read notes or send emails, even if the little extra effort could result in a better price for the seller. I'm not sure that they are doing the very best for either buyers or sellers. Definitely not the most efficient estate agents you will come across. Edit. Unfortunately you appear to have missed my point. The real issue is your failure to communicate effectively in the way that I as a prospective buyer had asked you to. Who knows how negotiations would have gone if your staff had simply done as I had requested? I cannot accept that in my case, you acted in an efficient manner. This review is offered as constructive criticism only. Updated edit. I have read your additional comments and now think it best that I clarify the points you now raise. 1. I have entered my review against three branches because initially there was some uncertainty as to which particular branch I was dealing with. My contact with you had been directly through Rightmove and having never set foot in any of your offices I couldn't therefore be expected to know which branch I had been attempting to negotiate with. Since you are one company you should be treated as a single entity. I'm sure you would be proud to associate yourselves with any positive publicity you had attracted, regardless of which branch was responsible. Why should the same not apply in reverse. 2. As a prospective buyer, of course I wouldn't expect to be paying you directly for a service. Does that mean that I am not entitled to leave a negative review if I felt that your performance fell short of the required standard. Or should I, as a prospective buyer only be entitled to leave a glowing review, when, presumably, you would have been happy to accept it, irrespective of whether I had actually paid for a service? Perhaps your response is a more reliable indication of your somewhat cavalier approach to both your buyers and sellers.
For anyone reading this review, please note that this property sold to someone else. The offerer who has left this 1 star review had more than one opportunity to increase their offer. So to say that we have done the seller a disservice by selling the property for more money than this person offered on multiple occasions is absolutely absurd. Google reviews are unfair how they allow people who have never paid for a service to leave a negative review about a local independent business. This person, who missed out on a property, and who has never paid for a service, decided it was pertinent to not only leave this 1 star review on the branch they dealt with, they decided to leave this review on THREE branches google review pages. I will let the reader make up their own mind on that one. We are the busiest agent in the area, we sell more of our properties than any other local competitor agent. We just wish in some cases we could sell them to multiple buyers.

GoogleComplete waste of time they choose the date and time I took the day of work they then called and said they need to reschedule and never did after chasing they then said the vendor wasn’t taking anymore viewing a utter waste of time! Updated review the company was the one who cancelled the viewing they booked for the 08/03/2023 10:00 the company choose that date and time and I had to book a day off when they cancelled they stated they said would call to rearrange and never did my review is 100% accurate to what happened! Updated 16/03/23 This i find funny the agency is blatantly lying that they never cancelled when I have l a recording of the entire conversation the phkne was on load speaker and it was recorded by my home cctv before if you’re going to lie I can post it on your Facebook page let me know if you would like me to do that! The lady called and cancelled and said the vendor apparently had school run your agency said they would call back to rearrange and never did I waited a week then called back you then booked it in for Saturday and said he vendor will have to confirm it and you’ll call back no one called I called back a few days later and was told the vendor isn’t taking about more viewing so I said you and your agency is a complete waste of time the lady apologies and even said the vendor has cancelled quite a few viewings and I can prove this! so yes you are lying and instead of admitting you decide to lie even more!
Hi Tori, after checking our records it seems that you cancelled your viewing and then the property sold. It is really frustrating when you miss out on a popular property. It is really important for honest reviews to go on small company’s websites, as it doesn’t just affect the company, it affects our employees who are local people. Our team strive to help every single person we deal with, and this is why you see our boards everywhere throughout the city. Please May I ask you to remove this review and take up any questions you have with our management team in the first instance? Tori, further to your update, I can confirm that we never “cancelled” your viewing. We only put it back into a pending state due to a request from the vendor. When we tried to rearrange you accused us of wasting your time and told us to cancel the viewing. Then when you called back the property was sold. Please try to remember that we only act as a middle person. If the vendor wants us to rearrange there isn’t much we can do. I’m sorry again that you feel put out, but we are happy that we did everything we could. We also only acted upon stakeholder’s requests. Reply to 16/03/2023 As you say "the lady apologies and even said the vendor has cancelled quite a few viewings". Please appreciate that we are the middle person. Any action that we take is a direct action from our customer. Whether that be the vendor or the buyer. Again, we are sorry you missed out on this property, it was a very popular one. Let's hope we or another agent can find you another one.
