I've had a very positive experience using GetAgent. The website is clear and easy to use. After answering just a few questions, I was recommemded a list of potential estate agents that I could use. With just one click a request for valuation was sent to them and agents I selected contacted me the next day (having sent the email on a Sunday evening). It was all very easy and seamless. GetAgent also contacted me the next day to follow up. I spoke to Elizabeth who was absolutely brilliant. Very knowleagable and helpful, she answered all my questions and sent me additional information and useful links. I'm very happy with their service.

Just don’t think it’s just a helpful website. They take the data they ask for and forward it without permission, in my case I explicitly said I did not agree to this, to estate agents; at least they did with mine. I have made my feedback known to them. I contacted them and unwound the damage of an innnocent bit of web research. What an annoying waste of time for me!

During your conversation with our Client Experience Representative, it was understood that you did not wish to receive phone calls from estate agents. In response, our representative offered email as an alternative, allowing agents to communicate with you about a valuation without calling.
We appreciate that our representative could have been clearer about the contact you would receive from the estate agents, as we understand you had some concerns about speaking to agents at this stage. We apologise for any misunderstanding during the call. We have also ensured that any further agent contact has been stopped in line with your wishes.

I looked at their website and thought it would be an interesting exercise to see the costs from Local Agents. Under NO circumstances did I agree that they could call me back. It actually said, we need your phone number to make sure you are a genuine person. Fair enough I thought. Misleading! This is NOT made clear on their web page. Whilst I have seen good reviews on this platform for them, I feel that Get Agent was misleading. I would NEVER have gone down this road if I though it would end up in marketing calls.

In no phone conversation with or email from Get Agent was there any mention of the fee they extract from the selling Estate Agent. I appreciate that GA is a business but I would not have engaged with them had I known their business model. I did tell the staff member who phoned me that I was only making an initial enquiry but she insisted on contacting three estate agents I had mentioned by name. It turns out that she told all three that I wanted a valuation. I had not said that. Useful stats are provided by Get Agent but I wouldn't bother using their services.

I really, really wish I had not answered my phone to these people. They suggested I request valuations from three agents their (useful) top line data suggests are good performers. I absentmindedly agreed with them, as this was something I was planning to do over the course of the next couple of days. The next thing I know they have sent valuation requests on my behalf and I get calls from those three agents.THIS SERVICE IS NOT FREE!!! They will charge the agent a finders fee of 0.25% of the total sale price. The agent will pass this on to the vendor in the form of a higher commission, all for something anyone can easily do themselves.As a result, the three agents I was 'referred to' will likely lose out on my business because they will be more expensive thanks to Get Agent. This is a parasitic business, as a vendor you DO NOT need them!

These people are not providing this service out of the goodness of their own hearts. Reading the positive comments on here it seems that people simply do not realise that this service is NOT free. They will be paid by the estate agent. And the estate agent will either provide you with a poorer service ( because he is not being paid as much ) or increase his charge to you. It is always much better to approach three or more agents directly (just phone them) and get three quotes. There is no need for these middlemen.
