Sold and bought our properties with Stirling Ackroyd at the Egham branch,I really can’t praise them enough, from Day 1 Mark was at our property explaining everything in great detail. kind friendly and Very helpful. Then it was Harry who again was so helpful friendly that we dealt with mostly, very professional, he really was on the ball and nothing was too much trouble for him. He Mostly looked after us all the way through it .He was always willing to go above and beyond to help us in anyway.Every time I phoned I was greeted with a friendly and helpful approach.The sale of the property and the buying of our new property was made so much easier by having the trust in these guys. I never felt anything was too much trouble for them.Also Ben Was a delight to speak to and very professional.Johnathan again, was very professional and assertive and reassuring.What a great team, I highly recommend sterling Ackroyd and these guys made our experience as stress-free as possible.Can’t thank them enough.

Their purportedly fully managed letting services involved no inspections (automatically or after asking for one to be undertaken), resulting in 6 people residing in my flat - as opposed to the 2 people named on the tenancy agreement - who trashed everywhere and stole my belongings. Stirling Ackroyd's lack of advice or proper service meant I could not claim back a fraction of the damage and loss from the deposit. They also failed to serve notice to terminate the tenancy on time. Stirling Ackroyd committed serious failings, causing me an immense amount of misery and loss.

I have been dealing with the Streatham branch mainly. The staff have generally been quite proactive. Danielle Quincy in particular has been very helpful with finding me tenants. Our interactions have always been professional and courteous and she has been invaluable in guiding realistic rental valuations which means she can find appropriate tenants for me in a timely way.

This agent failed to put an accurate floor plan on the details before going to market. Personal items were removed from the property when vacant after two doors were left unlocked. Alterations were made to pipe work by the buyer prior to completion without our knowledge. We were reassured that company managers would address these issues and contact us. They never did. We would recommend avoiding this agent.

poor issue management

There was a leak in our house (us-3 students) in Guildford which came from the bathroom upstairs to the kitchen downstairs resulting in a massive flood and damp ceiling and walls for about a week afterwards before someone came. Before the leak we had a similar minor incident coming from the same old pipe and were promised to have someone to check but no one turned up. After that we had to call an expensive emergency plumbing service and were told by the agency that it is too expensive and they basically cannot pay us the full amount back as previously we mentioned a different price due to an underestimation of the service. During the process we also had more than 7 managers from Stirling who contacted us and we had to explain everything anew. they were probably making an attempt to show that they care and are working on this when honestly it felt slightly different. This was dragged over more than 3 months and in the end our landlord had to pay us out of their pocket. We still have yellow damaged walls and ceilings and were promised to get it fixed but it’s been months and we only got a person to dry the walls and assess the situation but no actual work has been done. The whole process was tiring and we never got what we wanted.

Great Commercial agent

I have used a number of different branches of Stirling Ackroyd recently and found them all to be much more pro active and efficient than other agents I have used.In particular Ifta Khan from the Commercial branch in Shoreditch was fantastic both in finding a buyer and following the sale through to exchange of contracts.I have used a number of commercial agents in the past 40 years and Ifta stands out as the best I have used (and I have used quite a few). If you have commercial property to let or sell in London I would recommend you speak to Ifta first, I doubt you will be disappointed. At last a commercial agent who is pro active in every way.

Concern regarding privacy and professionalism

Terrible agents with absolutely no respect for privacy. I have never used their services, yet their staff contacted me on WhatsApp saying they wanted to arrange a viewing of a property I stayed once. I am neither the landlord nor the tenant, so I have no idea how they obtained my number or why they thought it was appropriate to contact me. The way they handled this is extremely creepy and has left me feeling very uncomfortable and confused. This is a serious concern regarding privacy and professionalism.
