Excellent service from Murdochs on my house sale last year. Very professional team. I bought my house in stansted though Murdochs in 2015 and then used them to sell in 2021 so that I could relocate to Devon. My house went under offer quickly in a hot market but through no one’s fault the onward chain was very complicated and protracted. Murdochs supported me throughout the ensuing 9 months and made a massive effort, on my behalf, to get the chain moving further down. They communicated with all the other estate agents and solicitors and led the way to get us to exchange. Without them I’m pretty sure the chain would have collapsed. Well done Peter James and team - I would strongly recommend.

Through no fault of his, that became an issue so we used him to manage a tenancy whilst the issues (with the management company) were being resolved. The sale followed. Not stopping there, we decided to sell our new house to move out of the area and used Peter again for the third time! Throughout all our dealings with Peter and his staff, we have found them to be diligent, responsive and very pleasant to deal with. Having been with two other local agents and having no success we went with Murdocks. Peter was friendly, to the point, asked the questions that other agents hadn't and got to work. We accepted an offer 4 weeks later which unfortunately, due to the joys of Covid, fell out of bed. Peter went back to work and we re-sold and completed. He always returns calls and emails, he doesn't try to "blag" anything and works hard to deliver what he said he would do. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking to sell their home.

We had quotes from three agents for selling a property in Stansted, Murdoch's quoted a price below one of the others but we were impressed by Peter James, the agent and his knowledge of the market and their office location in front of the station. Murdoch's commission was the best on offer and didn't include being locked into a sole agency agreement for a lengthy period of time as the other two did. Peter kept us updated on the status of the sale and we discussed a reduction in price after four weeks after little interest to refresh the property on the web. This seemed to spark further viewings and we successfully accepted an offer shortly after. Peter offered advice on house clearance, cleaning, conveyancing and even the sale of a car we needed to move from the front drive. We didn't accept all of these quotes but those we did we were happy with and we didn't feel pressured to accept his advice. We live a fair distance from the property and Peter was also willing to help with access for a charity to clear much of the furniture and to take meter readings at the end of the sale process. All in all a good experience from a friendly and enthusiastic local agent.

We used Murdoch’s Estate Agent to sell our house on the Forest Hall Park Estate in Stansted. We were impressed with the speed and efficiency of the Agents, from the first sales call, to taking professional pictures and uploading our advert on all the main channels of communication. The agents managed the process of viewings and communicated with us well at all times. We had a bit of a nightmare in the chain, sellers changing their minds and delaying the process, buyers pulling out and having to find new ones… Fortunately there was nothing more than Murdoch’s could have done which was one less party to worry about. Advice and communication on our behalf was nothing but faultless. Thanks again to all the team there!!
