If you value your time, money, or peace of mind, avoid this agency. Maintenance requests were ignored or endlessly delayed. Emails went unanswered unless chased repeatedly. A serious mould issue was raised multiple times and never properly resolved. We were forced to move out early due to the impact on our health. Communication was evasive, accountability was nonexistent, and every concern was met with excuses rather than action. To make matters worse, our deposit has still not been returned, with further delays each time we follow up. This was not just disappointing, it was exhausting and stressful from start to finish. Renters deserve better. Do not trust James

I had a disappointing experience with Daniel’s Estate agency especially James Marla who’s apparently the director (what a way to not run a business) From the very beginning, their communication was lacking. I felt like I was left in the dark about important details throughout the tenancy. The agents would enter the property without notice and whilst we were on holiday. Moreover, I encountered several delays that could have been avoided with better organisation and planning on their part. I was promised updates that never came, leaving me frustrated and anxious during my tenancy. On top to then find that they were making unjust deductions to my deposit once my contract ended. Overall, I would not recommend this agency to anyone looking for property. They lack professionalism and transparency.

Rented a property for 2 years from them and from start to finish, they were completely useless! Inherited a filthy property at the start of the tenancy. Slow to fix things and took a huge amount of effort on my part, followed by a great amount of time for them to respond. Garage still had the previous tenants belongings in for the first few months of the tenancy, we were not compensated for this. The flat and building had a serious mould problem, which the landlord was not interested in treating, the estate agents just made excuses for him and tried to put the blame on us. Unpleasant and unhelpful to deal with, especially James Smith, this guy is a complete crook and one of the directors so this says it all really, he seems pleasant to get your business but is deceitful, crafty and a immoral man. I still haven't received my deposit back, he will try anything he can and definitely doesn't care about his tenants, only protecting and making excuses for his landlords. If you're looking at renting a property in the St Alban's area, steer well clear of these estate agents. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! p.s. Remember the name - James Smith - DO NOT trust him!

Dreadful experience renting through this agency, many things to say, but just a few to mention; Urgent maintenance was unhurried and not taken seriously. Don't respond to emails and constantly chasing them with no reply. Withheld my deposit with fabricated charges, which I'm still waiting to be returned. Dishonest estate agency, particularly James (He is a treacherous and crafty gentleman) They are not interested with you once you've moved in, you have been warned!

Very unpleasant experience dealing with this agency, in particular James!!! James was shockingly unprofessional, evasive, full of excuses, ignoring repeated concerns, and constantly deflecting responsibility. Communication was inconsistent, promises were broken, and at no point did we feel supported or treated fairly. Weeks later, our deposit still hasn’t been returned, with more excuses every time we chase. If you’re considering renting in St Albans, do yourself a favour: avoid this agency entirely.

Can't say enough thanks to Daniels; would definitely recommend its services to my friends and anyone. About a year ago, St Albans was new to me and my family, and like many others, I browsed Rightmove, Zoopla etc. in search for a rental property. Most estate agents did their jobs well at the very beginning. We actually had got accepted by a few landlords and so had dealt with a few agent offices. Eventually, we'd moved into a property managed by Daniels. Now, with nearly a year's experience with Daniels, we can say that Daniels sets it apart from the others with its services being efficient in responding to tenants' concerns and issues reported, as well as timely and effective in communicating on behalf of both the tenants and the landlord. The renting from start to finish was smooth, positive and pleasing. Unlike most other offices, Daniels remains approachable and responsive consistently throughout. I needed to sell the property on behalf of an estate and I didn't know any local agents so had to do a bit of research. Daniels were good from the first contact where they clearly explained the process and helped me understand the best way to progress. every contact with them was professional, friendly and helpful. they didn't just talk the talk but arranged a comprehensive schedule of viewings which they attended and kept me fully updated on. overall they made what could have been a very stressful experience into a fairly straightforward and pain free process. I had lived in the UK as a university researcher for several years. This property agency gave me the worst experience in UK. I got the contract for a lovely flat in Marlborough Road for only 6 months first. I was working with Matthew at Daniels. They lied to me completely, as they did not tell the truth that my landlady will sell the flat soon and it was even on the market (secretly). But Matthew said to me, the landlady just wanted to find a good tenant by having a trial time for six months first. So, I was naive and trusted the Daniel's! However, on the day I moved into the flat, they put the FOR SALE mark in front of my flat. I got upset and called them, and they lied me again- said there was no way and it was a mistake.. They removed the SALE sign for a month but in the end Daniels sold my flat and asked me to move out! Although they gave me for some time to find a new flat, it was a complete fraud for me. If I knew my landlady will sell the flat, I will never rent the flat only for 6 months. When I complained it to the Daniels team they lied me again - they were like they did not know about the landlady''s thought. However, my upper floor neighbour told me, there was no way that the Daniel's did not know it because the previous tenant before me moved out due to the notice from Daniels about the flat sale plan! Nonetheless, I tried to understand the situation and moved out from the flat. The Daniels team really said that they were willing to pay my British Gas Bill as I needed to pay for vacating my flat. I thought that they felt sorry for my moving again. So, I gave them my bill paper and received my deposit very soon. It was in September 2019. (for the last time, Chris at Daniel's was a good person to solve out all situation though.) However, now in 2022 I am staying in my home country, and contacted by a legal company in UK for the British Gas Bill. Yes, I can pay for the bill as I have money and I used the gas. But the Daniels property agency should be judged by what they had done for me especially with their fraud and lie. Please do not trust this property agency. If you avoid this property agency, that is your luck!

I recently purchased my first property through Daniel's, and Matt was the agent I dealt with from day one, but I also had experience of also hearing from Chris throughout the experience. Having experienced agents before when selling my Mums property for her, I was pleasantly surprised that Matt or Chris was always very responsive, informative and professional throughout the whole process, with Matt's advice proving valuable throughout as a first time buyer myself. I highly recommend them if selling your property or buying because they have a lot of integrity ensuring they can offer support or help whenever they can but more importantly ensuring communication stays open and honest at a time when the process can get tough, and transparency can become rare. We have just bought our first home together through Daniels Estate Agents in St Albans. It's our dream home - the home we never thought was possible with our requirements, on our budget, in St Albans. Daniels helped us to make the dream a reality, and in record time too! We are so happy and so grateful. We completed in record time, from offer being accepted to completing took a mere 5 1/2 weeks. A good part of the reason that we managed to do it so quickly, and hit our target deadline to be in our house in time for Christmas was the efficiency and effectiveness of the team at Daniels. They made a stress-filled process as stress-free as possible. Specifically, we were most impressed with: a) their upfront honesty about the state and history of the property from first viewing, b) their swift and timely communication; c) their excellent liaision skills between us and the vendors and the two sets of solicitors; d) their helpful advice and support sourcing tradespeople to help quote for works that need doing to the property. My partner and I have bought and sold properties prior to buying our joint home in St Albans and we can both attest to the fact that we've never met or worked with anyone like Daniels before. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them. If, in the very unlikely event*, we decided to sell our home in the future we would ONLY sell it through Daniels.
