Wow it’s good to know that I was removed from the system then, even better service. We were with homehub for 6 months in 2022. March- August. I have all communications with them which I am more than happy to share with you. I escalated my issue and was told it was sent to an ombudsman and never heard anything since. Also not sure why my review did not show up but I will post it again. Please stay away from Homehub if you are new to the country. They will charge you an inflated price and then drop the price of rent a few days after you sign the contract. The manager John is completely unhelpful and is unfit to be a manager and he is also the director so there’s a definite problem if you ever try complaining he will never budge on his own opinions. Apartment was very old and was uninhabited for many years. The state in which we received the apartment was dreadful as we had to clean every inch of the place. From food stains on the carpet to tobacco and cigarette butts in between the couch. A disgraceful agency. I repeat PLEASE DONT DO ANY DEALING WITH HOMEHUB If John is involved.

I am a worker who wants to rent a room but has been denied because I have kids. It has gotten to the level that they wouldn't allow me to view any of their property because I have kids that are not living with me. And I can't rent any of their rooms. Now I think this is wrong and some kind of discrimination The staff I spoke to at approximately 16:50 today, being the 6th of March, 2023, was rude because i tried to explain my situation. The kids are not even living with me, and I was to explain to them that by law, the kids are not allowed to live. we me in a room, but I am allowed to see them. Where I decided to see my kids shouldn't be a problem. And kids don't have to come to my one room for heaven sake. I have kids, but they don't live with me. So don't bring in council policy when I am not going to live with them, and you don't even know if my kids are in the uk or even know if my kids are adults living in their own flats before discriminating. There is no justification. You guys are just rude and think you can treat people the way you want.

It is a hmo and under Council rules you cannot have children in a shared house in one room, this coulkd also be a risk to your children

*Update* I was very keen to move into Dorval Manor, there was a huge lack of communication. I paid my holding fee and eventually paid the deposit when they got back to me. 2 days before I was surpose to move in I finally had some repsonse. Just to tell me they have not got the gas and electric certificate. They did not know when it was going to be done. Only allowing me 2 days before I could have became homeless. Thankfully they was another agency (look at my reviews) that were able to help me with the minimal time I had. Homehub is a company that do not care for their customers. They lack communication. It was all now hill.

Hi William, we are sorry you may of had a bad experience with Home hub but we cannot see you as ever being a client of ours, if you want to contact us as we are always keen to see if anything can be inproved our end as we want everyone to be happy where ever possible. Just wanted to add to this as I remember it now, this was down to the landlord, he was always very slow and difficult but came through in the end but last minute, this time he did not and even after you had to find something else he let us down, he is no longer one of our landlords as we do not want our name associated with this kind of situation again.

I tried to rent a flat from HomeHub back in July 2021 and paid a holding deposit. It’s now almost 1 year on and I have just managed to get my deposit money back through taking them to small claims court. I was accused of lying, creating false emails/identities and hacking their system, etc. Luckily the judge who heard the case actually saw the truth hence why I got my money back! I should have never been treated this way at all and even though I have received my money back in full now, I haven’t had a single apology from any member of their team. Utterly disgraceful business - avoid at all costs if you don’t want any trouble!

Agent replied · 23 October 2024

Hi Phoebe Sorry you had a bad experience but this issue was passed over as the staff members in question are no longer employed by Home Hub, after looking through all the email chain involved and speaking to the property owner in question, we took legal advice and it was decided the costs involved to fight this case whoever was proved to be at fault was too high for the claim size. to be clear we have not accused you of faking identities or hacking our system.

Myself and my daughter arrived on the Tuesday with me hoping to leave on Wednesday with my daughter safely in her new accommodation. We had several viewings lined up. Home hub were the only company who seemed any way professional and their accomodation was by far the best. Before we meet Lucy I have to saw I was reluctant about the service fees but her professionalism immediately won me over. Once the deposit was paid and paper work completed she even collected my daughter from the hotel and took her to her new accommodation. Highly recommended and thanks Lucy for making a stressful few days as painless as possible.

THIEVES! The WORST housing agents in the UK... I don't usually leave Reviews but I'm appaled, disgusted and shocked by the way home hub treats it's tenants. You're better off homeless than wasting your money by choosing them. Here I will list some of the things they've done/would do again.... - Invade your privacy: on multiple occasions someone representing home hub went into MY room that I payed for with no notice and no right to do so (as stated in the tenancy agreement a 24 hour notice period is required). Like the time they arrived with a potential tenant to have a look at a room.... my room, while I was home. There's also no communication. When anyone is moving in; no notice whatsoever is given, a surprise new face in your home without notice can be startling to say the least. - Will not fix basic issues: the plumbing was done cheap and incorrectly leading to repeated issues with the sink and drainage, it would take MONTHS for them to send someone out and they would just unblock it, not fix the issue causing the problem. The oven broke down over and over again and again it took a long time for them to send someone out and still didn't fix that also. - Theft: Recently a Tenant had their expensive Jet ski Stolen from WITHIN the garden, they were understandably very shocked and worried (you're meant to feel safe leaving your stuff in your garden right?), when they phoned home hub to report it as Stolen (this was no easy task to steal as the garden is closed in, pics below), they were informed that it was infact home hub themselves that stole the Ski and trashed (really trashed) the garden whilst at it. When asked to return it, they claimed they stole it because it was 'abandoned'; trying to claim it was a previous tenants with no evidence to endorse this. Home hub's final response towards the upset tenant being for them to phone the police. Unacceptable, distressing and frankly very oppressive towards tenants who now feel and I quote "violated" in their own home. Why should anyone PAY to be have to live like this? This is just a few examples of how they treat people who rely on them. If you're here looking for a place to feel safe and call home, keep looking.

Connor · 24 March 2022

Agent replied · 23 October 2024

Hi Connor I am surprised that someone we negotiated to be able to leave the property owing over £1,375 in rent arrears has left a review like this for us, but let me put some facts straight. firstly, someone going int your room, a room you paid for? partly paid for we would say, you would be talking about the contractor who went to your room number 1 as the numbers had had been changed around so it was a genuine mistake, but in fact a mistake which showed us all the furniture pushed to one side and cannabis plants growing, you advised us that you was not staying in the room and it must have been the other tenant from room 2. Secondly, we have the Jet ski which belonged to another tenant Room 2 who had left owing over £3,700 in rent arrears and not replied to any contact from us regarding the rent and his belongings so the landlord asked for the jet ski to be removed as he was not a free storage unit, not stolen by Home Hub but removed by a contractor on the landlords behalf, we then had another tenant contact us claiming to now own the jet ski, so we asked for proof of this, as the landlord had kept the jet ski out of good will in case someone could claim it, no proof could be provided and the time scale for it to be claimed had passed. Thirdly, the garden, the contractor had to move all the ridicules amount of rubbish which had been dumped in the garden by all the then tenants , the landlord again had to pay for someone to come a clear this. as for maintenance, we do try and get everything where possible fixed as soon as we can but some things are out of our control. To finalise We now have a house with tenants paying rent, who know how to put rubbish in a bin and all maintenance is up to date, if tenants can show respect to a property and pay the rent then it makes it much easier for everyone. if there is any doubt with any aspect of the above mentioned, we of course have every email, every call and every picture as proof if needed.

An absolute disgrace from start to finish. Poor communication non answering of phones . We were given a date for moving and were only this would not happen late on the Friday afternoon when we were meant to be moving that evening ,the reason was that they did not have the electrical certificate and did not know when it would be available . We were left homeless and incurred large cost from having to find accomodation and storage for furniture . All the agent said was it was the landlord fault . Avoid like the plague ,the worst experience of my life .NegativeQuality

in the process of me moving in they were very helpful, but as soon as I moved in they have been awful ,I have to send at least 5 emails before they respond ,we have all reported several issues on fixflo a number of times but it's been months since anything has been fixed,it took two months to fix the washing machine ,so 10 people were sharing two, they are always rude in emails,if you are thinking of using them, don't! Worst agency I've been with.

We are very glad you thought the move in went very well with Home Hub. Regarding the maintenance, unfortunately we are at the mercy of the landlords to a large extent when it comes to getting things done, and we appreciate this can be really frustrating for tenants.

Intimidated me and my friends when raising dispute regarding utility bills, where I was forced to pay because it was somehow under my name but in the agreement clearly stated the landlord is responsible for utility bills. John the director who is full of bad practice, check the agreement for reference!

So very please with Home Hub! Sarah and the team managed to find two tenants to rent my house in such short notice. Carefully selecting the individuals to suit my requirements. Everything was dealt with so efficantly, things were brought to my attention that hadn’t crossed my mind, and it was a huge weight off my shoulders! Many thanks Home Hub! Caroline Hubbard

The worse estate agency for students and young professionals in Southampton. Awful experience especially with the manager John and the agent Soph, both very rude and never keen in sorting out problems. When I moved in they didn't provide any mirror in any room, not even in the toilet. I personally was using the front camera of my laptop and the guys were shaving using the mirrored door of the microwave. Once I emailed them to give notice for a late payment, because I had a car crash and I was in the hospital. The manager John replied to my email saying that if I was late with the payment he would had given me a bad reference when I would move to another place. My worse experience ever in the UK. Luckily when I moved out, I didn't need any reference from them and also they gave me back the full deposit as I left the room immaculate and even more clean than it was, as you can see from the pictures.

John's been kind to manage my property for the last 4 years (approximately). I'd previously used Austin Wyatt / Countrywide - had a nightmare experience - poor service, periods of vacancy, tenants leaving without notice and in rent arrears. Since I've been with John, everything's been perfect- all the rent's paid, work done is very reasonable and he's available on the end of the phone. If I had more property on the South Coast I'd have no hesitation in using him - really a pleasure to deal with.

Any review over 1 star must be fake. The worst company with horrible people, letting out homes falling apart and covered in mold with no intention of fixing them. Use at your own suffering.

Hi Andrew I am disapointed to see you could write such a false and damming review after we tried our best with you. If anyone would like to contact me directly I will be happy to give the full story in detail as there are two sides to everything in life, one of them being that we are a letting agent and do not own this or any of the homes we manage so can only do what the landlord allows us, this is something that was was acknowledged by the Council after meeting with them. We wish you all the best in your future Andrew and hope your new property lives up to your expectations.

They lied about fixing problems before I moved in, then at the end of the tenancy they tried to charge me of them & a move out fee (that I paid and even sent the receipt to them lol). Won with DPS & they then give you a bad review for your next tenancy. Just funny how bad they are on purpose! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I have been moving around a lot thus renting from various agencies in different UK cities and even countries around the world due to my profession.. this one is so far the worst experience, would never recommend to anyone. I don't think I have ever given a 1 star review, but seems like this will be the first. Just moved out of a room managed by them last week and I felt very strongly that the staff are extremely unprofessional / incompetent / forgetful and make too many mistakes. A water leak from my ceiling took a month to fix and I had to take matters into my own hands to sort out a WiFi connectivity issue (the property came with WiFi). Staff needed to be chased up on literally everything including adding invoices for rent payments and even wrongfully assumed I missed a payment for which I had to go into my statements and break everything down via email as you would explain to a 5 year old. Seems like it would have been better to not have an agency at all than to have HomeHub as your agency. At the end of the tenancy, even though I had given my notice more than a month and a half in advance, they seemed to have "forgotten" and seemed fully ready to charge me for an extra month when I asked for confirmation about the final rent payment with 3 weeks left to the tenancy. The room itself had nothing wrong with it and the salesperson was very good however it is not hard to sell a room that looks nice and the real work from the agency comes when they have to deal with you as a tenant at which HomeHub fails miserably.

Awful customer service. Homehub have an automated service for tenants whereby it rings once and cuts out, stating all advisors are busy. However if you press stating you are a current landlord you are able to speak to an advisor straight away. Homehub do not inform tenants if they are entering the property for viewings. And frequently turn up unannounced. After speaking with them about this about 10 times they now message on the day. Homehub charge £358 admin fees before you move in. Then an added £8 for referencing when you would think the £358 covers that. Homehub are unable to contact if you have maintenance issues in the house. I have been waiting 4 weeks for a new fridge - which they sent someone in to measure 3 weeks ago however that has now been forgotten. Homehub are simply a money making business and do not care about the tenants. This is evident from the automated service on the telephone, the responses on emails when there is a problem, and the extra fees to move in and out. Homehub charge £299 PLUS vat to leave a contract, and tenants are expected to continue paying the rent for the room once vacated. Homehub charge £34 to leave the room at the end. Homehub charge £358 to move in, on top of rent, and a deposit. They do not respond to concerns or complaints and on numerous occasions I have contacted the landlord directly.

The absolute worst. I would never recommend anyone ever rent from this cowboy outfit. Left me for the entire of last winter with no central heating. Every time somebody came out I’d be told the boiler was obsolete and there’s nothing they could do. They stopped coming in the end. The building itself fell into a sorry state under Homehub’s ‘care’ broken lights and dirty unsafe communal areas were never cleaned or repaired. Frequently tried to go against the tenancy agreement not giving the specified notice period for viewings/visits. Not once in the whole time they ran the place did anybody ever answer a phone in their office. Ever. Left the building with a fire alarm constantly beeping for 4 days and were completely uncontactable. Tenants moved out to hotels it was that bad. Only rectified once I called the alarm manufacturer after 3 nights of no sleep, who told me that had there been a fire the alarm wouldn’t have gone off. Had a video on their website for a while basically berating tenants. These people do not have tenants interests in mind at all. They will get you in as quickly as possible then dump you and you will never hear from them again. My last statement from them showed that I was £140 in credit with Homehub. I have made several attempts to contact them over the past few months to have my money returned to me but have heard nothing. Unsurprising really. The list could go on and on. The worst.

If I could give negative stars I would. As a proactive tenant I found them frustrating at best and rude at worst. The house we let was not in the condition promised to us when we moved in. On top of this we found that the thermostat was broken on move in day and we had to report the problem for months before someone was sent out. It was agreed that it needed a new part and that someone would come and fit it at the beginning of Dec. We are still waiting for the new part to be fitted with no news and no answer when we try and ring, email or use the online system. Can't say I would ever rent a property with home hub again if I have the choice...

1 star because I can't give 0.

"Poor response to tenant issues. Freezing cold house was difficult to live in and home hub were unprofessional and unsympathetic about the situation. They are unwilling to sort out issues in a timely manner and resort to blaming tenants when issues persist" Had the exact same issues as this, home hub do not look after tenants, would rather have them freeze a claim its your own fault they didn't repair the heating. They refuse to take responsibility for their actions.

Thank you for doing your best home hub.

Just to say that i've just moved out of a house run by Home Hub. Home hub were really nice and always trying to be fair. For example, if someone broke something, it is fair that they pay for it and not the landlord. The people in the house were lazy and treated the house badly and got annoyed when home hub tried to get them to help themselves. Home Hub were friendly and professional throughout. My housemates were the issue. They were babies and blamed everyone else all the time. Just wanted to set the record straight!

This woman Suzzanne mallows from home hub is disgraceful. She promised and I agreed on a certain date on my tenancy agreement to be update , so I can make the payments. She claimed that she has emailed me the updates, she has not it's been roughly two weeks and a half. I have been emailing her and called no responds. I strongly suggest to be careful with them. I will not recommend them.
