This time you ask for a review well…

This time you ask for a review well this time you will not be happy. I was told house roof level and completion may / June I expect slippage received call today Lovell cocked up on infrastructure as a result house ready in may / June but services not connected until august/ September that is really imcopetent in fact negligent. I thought they were quality builders hmmmmm ? Then they expect me to exchange contracts within 4 weeks despite no new ready for occupation. Then to add more they ask me to meet for discuss extras next Friday for property. And no doubt pay . This is is costing me money as will have to rent and store furniture I am really disappointed with clearly inept service I’d this what we have to accept no one accountable, Come on Lovell get your act together

Hi Robin,We were very disappointed to read your review this morning after receiving such a positive 5* review from you only last week. Unfortunately building delays in this current climate are often something that is out of our control and not unusual. I understand and appreciate that this does not help your situation and can only apologise for your anticipated legal completion date being pushed back. We pride ourselves in both our quality products and customer service so it’s always a concern when we hear you feel let down.I will pass your comments over to all our departments and Dulcie and Jo will be able to assist you with any concerns you may have and will be happy to help in any way they can.Lovell Home Team

My original review got deleted but…

My original review got deleted but thought I’d put it back up, Seriously think about it before you do,We bought a property from Lovell homes in February 2019 and we wished we never did, terrible service, they never get back to us. They left our garden unfinished,(as other houses was being built), I’d really recommended not to get their turf as they lay it down poorly , we had a leak coming from the living room ceiling, (this was fixed but was just given a tub of paint to re-paint it, yes ourselves) our fence was lopsided and only got fixed after 9 months. (We had to push and push to get this sorted) I really hope these builders get looked into as the build quality is shocking. So please reconsider before you purchase, before I realised what I was getting myself into, I had recommended friends and family to Lovell (as they do a refer a friend scheme) and they have stated the same issues, we still didn’t receive are £500 referral (probably got thrown out by the sales lady) Our house is in a nice state now but in all honesty the customer service is very very poor that’s why I had to only rate 2 stars , all of the site manager just fob you off and are not interested again you really need to push them to get the snags done.

Brilliant service from Jo and Dulcie in…

Brilliant service from Jo and Dulcie in the marketing suite at Williams Park. Both couldn't have been more helpful in helping us choose and purchase our first new home, friendly, welcoming, professional and passionate about the development they work on. We only originally popped in for a chat as we weren't considering a new build originally, we ended up coming away having reserved a plot! Jo deserves a big pat on the back for initial contact, and Dulcie has excelled in dealing with us since. Both are a credit to Lovells.

Wymondham Site - Aftercare and Plumbers AWFUL

Wymondham Site, Jo in the sales office was fantastic, can't fault her on anything. But it goes seriously downhill as soon as you get your keys, mentioned snags to them and a year later, many visits and photos taken we still have the same snags. The aftercare is absolutely shocking, takes 3 days to get through to them and then they are "Fully Booked" for months, they then just stop replying and then you are back to square one with a stained ceiling from a leak.I don't know where they found the plumbers must have been from a cowboy plumbers website, every problem we have has has been to do with the plumbing and thats everyone on the estate to not just us.When the Lovell engineers come round to fix the problems the plumbers have caused they have been spot on, really friendly and do the work to a high standard, just a shame they aren't like that from the get go.We have been in for nearly a year now and the garden still floods with a slight bit of drizzle, there is no street signs/names, the street lights still haven't been turned on.I honestly would NOT recommend to anyone, I feel bad for the people I have already recommended and they have had more problems than us. Stay away

Hello Lovell Homeowner Thank you for your positive comments on the service you have received from our Senior Sales Executive Jo and the Customer Care operatives who have been working in your home. I will pass them onto the team. We have been experiencing problems with some of the workmanship of the Plumbing contractors and have made changes within our business to rectify this. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you. Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with rain soakaway in your back garden. In extreme weather conditions, often it takes a while for water to drain naturally into soil. Planting and turf will help with this. It can take even longer if you have areas of hard landscaping which the water can only run off, slowly soak through or evaporate from over time.If you would like to arrange a visit with the Construction Manager to discuss this or any other issues, please book this with Dawn or the Customer Care Administrator.I am pleased to be able to tell you the street signs have been approved and ordered, with the anticipated fit scheduled for February. The Street lighting layout has been approved and the light columns on order. The call off time on these is 4 months, with an anticipated fitting in March. The roundabout and spine road are programmed to be completed together giving the area great visibility.Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas,Kind regardsLovell Homes

Terrible company to deal with.

- told our house would be exact measurements of show home. It is not. Downstairs cupboard less than half the size.- not told at reservation our garden would be on an extreme slope.- sinks not on level.- when I complain to headoffice I get called a liar, threatened to not talk about my experience with the salesperson to anyone and any further complaints should be passed to my solicitor.- walls are so thin with no noise barrier- lied to by salesperson that we could not purchase tiled flooring when others on our estate have it.

We recently reserved our first home with Lovell and we have had nothing but a brilliant experience. We are currently dealing with Rosann who is very knowledgeable and brilliant at her job. She is on hand to answer any questions and is very prompt in her responses. As first time buyers, me and my boyfriend don’t know how buying a house goes so Rosann has kept us right and explained everything to us! Our house will be due to be finished in April/May 2022 and I cannot wait to get into it.

Scotland - No customer service after initial NHBC survey

We love our new house and at first we were delighted with the customer service we received from Lovell. Until we had completed the initial NHBC survey, that is, at which point customer service seemed to disappear. We have reported large cracks in our hallways and kitchen and nail heads that are sticking out of walls in several rooms that we are still waiting to be addressed. While I understand these things can happen in new homes, I have had repeated discussions with Customer Services about it and on several occasions have been told to await a reply that never came. Having finally been told that someone would come to the house we spent time waiting at home for a painter who never arrived. We also reported dead bushes in our garden when we first moved into the house 17 months ago and we are still waiting for a reply from the landscaper (via Customer Services) on the issue, with the only repeated reply from Customer Services being "I'll get back to you". Needless to say, they have never got back to us. I assume now we have missed another planting season and will need to wait until at least April for this to be discussed again... when we will have been in the house for almost 2 years. I find this totally unacceptable. I've tried copying the Site Manager and Regional Managing Director into communications with Customer Services to see if I can get any help from them but they have yet to even acknowledge that I've sent an email. So my advice to anyone buying a Lovell Home - get everything sorted out before you fill in that first feedback questionnaire! Lovell just want the initial good reviews and then they disappear and you'll be left with a battle to try and get anyone to reply to you.

I’ve bought many houses over the yrs and the majority have been new builds by many different builders, but seldom have I seen the quality of design, workmanship and extras that comes with a Lovell home. The care and attention you receive from everyone on site is unprecedented, Lovell homes gives you a feeling that nothing is to much trouble, from the professional kind sales person (Kathy) to the on site manager, you feel rightly so this company is extremely proud of the House, no, the home they are building.Would I recommend a Lovell new build home ? Without a single thought that would be a big “YES” Take note other builders this is how it’s done.

Dishonest company! Don’t trust the ‘invited’ reviews!

I wouldn’t trust any of the ‘invited’ reviews here. I pointed out to the company how dreadful their trust pilot reviews were in a public consultation they had about a development they are attempting on a nationally rare ecosystem in Bristol. They snapped at me and said trust pilot wasn’t important and I didn’t know what I’m talking about but since then have been desperately trying to increase their review score. That consultation was July 20th by the way so you can see the change for yourself. As for the company they are beyond incompetent. One example is they claimed their development would bring money and hundreds of jobs to our local pubs. They didn’t even do the research to see we don’t have any pubs in the entire area! My dad worked in housing for over 40 years and said their plan was one of the worse he has ever seen. This isn’t just my opinion if you read the comments on the Novers hill application on the Bristol council planning portal, the cities design group say “This approach fails to benefit from an intelligent architectural solution”. On top of all this they refused to release import documents like the ecology report until after the public consultation giving residents no chance to ask questions about the findings which included many protected species.I could mention more examples of this company’s incompetence and deceptive practices but I’ll leave it there and just say to believe every bad review on this site. Do not trust any of the invited positive reviews. I wouldn’t touch this company with a 10 foot pole. Just stay away if you are thinking of buying from them!Update: responding to Lovell’s comment. Genuine reviews are not the same as trusted reviews. You encourage people to review in the honeymoon stage before the problems happen. I’m just saying you have pushed hard since July 2021 to raise your review score (it used to be 85% negative) you are still 77 out of 77 home builders though so that should say something. For anyone still on the fence feel free to DM me on Twitter and I’d be happy to back up all these claims with documentation. Oh and don’t worry I already have discussed this with Bristol City Council and they passed a motion protecting the land you want to develop on so don’t try to say you actually listen to feedback if you won’t listen to council policy and democracy.

With regard to your specific points on Novers Hill, as you are aware this development is currently under planning review pending final decision and all comments should be directed towards Bristol City Council’s planning team responsible for this application.Kind regardsLovell Homes

Defective central heating system

We had endured problems with our zonal heating system for several years. Basically as we finally discovered before we sold the house, the zones did not operate independently of one another as designed. Because the zonal valves had been plumbed incorrectly, the auto valve servicing the ground floor area was subservient to the valve servicing the upstairs area. It would not operate without the other. Finally, the downstairs valve failed because it was opened against a closed system on too many occasions. Lovells had sent us what I term a threatening letter when we complained initially, basically saying we were wasting their time. They sent back the same plumbing organisation who had plumbed in the valves and guess what they did not find a problem. I called on the services of a local plumber who had good press. He sorted out the matter and he was less than complimentary about the plumbing organisations who work on new build properties. He also said we should pursue Lovells for the cost of a new zonal valve plus it’s fitting which entailed breaking into new pipe work. We just wanted the house in a fit state for the new owners. We have a moral obligation !!!I would never purchase a new build property again from the outset, particularly from Lovells. We had loads of defects with the build ( many if these were associated with plumbing) which should not have been present if site management had done their job properly.

Do your research b4 buying..

Me and my other half got our keys in Feb.. to which our front canopy wasn't done. Got told it would be the next week then week after then week after it was finished August yet our next door neighbours had theirs on when they moved in a week after we did.Customer services are absolutely rubbish especially with communication. Still waiting for snags that I reported back when we moved in and some are taking ages to be booked in also. Have had a few leaks in the ensuite and mostly in bathroom. Back garden floods like mad yet when reported was told it was due to how much it rained that day, errrr our fence at the bottom is constantly wet and our flower bed is constantly wet and also our grass and stones are constantly wet. Not only that we have plaster beetles which feed off mould and damp and the only thing lovell can suggest is de humidifiers and now psst control to do a bomb and chemical wipe which will only kill the beeltes on the outside not the inside so we will keep getting them until the house dried out but if there is mould we will have them for ever. What lovell need to do is to remove all of the plaster in the house and re do it but nope won't do that. We have had months of stress through this. Happy to take our money but not listen to their customers yet if it was them in their house would be happy to moan and get things done.. Disappointed as we love the house just not having anyone listen to us...

Chartwell FS, Lovell Homes & Bloor Homes

Unless you go through their financial services Chartwell to be qualified and they give you a reference number you are not allowed to reserve . So even if one has their own DIP this is not good enough your broker needs to be qualified by them! It all stinks of mal practice and whilst they keep writing and stating one can obtain their finance with whom they choose how many customers in truth have been told a plot has gone or they cannot be qualified which actually means they do not have panel of lenders that they can place you with thus meaning no reference no ability to secure a plot! This happened to me...they couldn't place me i only needed a £50k mortgage on a £340k house..so I go a broker provided her with exactly the same as i had provided them got a DIP and when she called them to say she had under written my case she was told that she too needed to be checked out by Chartwell! BTW Bloor Homes exactly the same...I have reported them to FCA and customer consumer Unit. I have written loads of time right to the top of both companies both are that arrogant they belive they above the law of fair trading, discrimination act and the financial ombudsman*** in reply to lovell The bit you have not answered is why was my DICISION IN PRINCIPLE with my broker not good enough? A DIP means i have been under written! Again descrimate people! Shame on you!

Not worth 1 star

Wouldn't even give them 1 star but it was the only option.I purchased a home a month ago, the day I received the keys the home was not ready (flooring still going down) I accepted this and thought that would be the only issue.Since then I have found I have not straight walls which has not led to them having to be feathered out to try make the flooring look straight. I had a bathroom leak, all our carpets lift up, holes in walls and doors and many more snags.Customer care are so slow at responding and coming up with any solutions and a month down I am still no further with my home being repaired. If you're reading this before purchasing I really would do your research and be very careful. The home I purchased is on Ingleby View, Saxilby.

A lovely home, but appalling after sales service

A really lovely home, which is why we fell in love with it at first sight. Like with any new home, you only discover the 'snags' after you move in, and this is normal. What isn't normal is the appalling treatment we have received from Lovell's customer care team. They do not understand the concept of after sales service and senior management have no desire to do anything about it. They have been extremely slow and very reluctant to deal with most defects. After many months and many broken promises, the vast majority of issues remain unresolved. Lovell's contractors seem unwilling to remediate the issues caused by their poor workmanship and Lovell don't seem to care about the customer that is left in the middle with all the unresolved issues.

Left a sour taste

Put an early bird reservation on a plot at Williams Park back in April and in the meantime progressed our house sale, finally called four days that the plot was now released and we were given the purchase price. All happy days. Then the next day we were told the Keyworker discount we had agreed was being discontinued so our planned saving was no more. We were also instructed to speak to their mortgage chap to get "qualified" which we duly did. The this morning and only four days after being told it was all systems go, we've been told the plot is now no longer being released and might not be until October and they couldn't confirm if the price was going to change. So they now know how much we can afford so am suspicious they're going to whack the price up as well as severely delaying our plans. Really poor experience so far and seriously debating whether to bother continuing with them.

Rollercoaster ride

Rollercoaster ride- here's the short of itBuild quality- outstandingFixture and fittings- OKHandling of issues- extremely poorSales- extremely poorCertain people- amazingOur sales experience started well with our purchase on Tennyson Fields. We were greeted and treated well on our viewing and fell in love with a Farnham. After we reserved things with sales went downhill. Communication was extremely poor meaning that on multiple occasions we were well out of the loop. On more than one occasion I rang to check that our move date in two weeks was still going ahead, to find out that we had in fact been put back (even up to a month). On moving in, the quality of the build was clear. We had a small snag list, which was really quite picky and the house was just beautiful. It made the trouble with sales so worth it. Our snags were solved quickly by the original site manager. We had a problem with hot water and someone was round within hours to fix it. It went downhill when our shower leaked, which came through our ceiling. We understood things go wrong. We called the emergency line as this first happened on a weekend and were told someone would come but they didn't. Eventually some one came and fixed the problem over a week later. A week after that, we had another waterfall in our kitchen and again we were failed by the emergency line. To cut it short we are three months later and I've only just got my shower back. At the end of it all, I adore my house and the development I'm living on. I would dare say the house is almost worth extremely poor service. There are some people who are absolutely amazing and will do anything to solve your issues, just pray it's them you can call upon.

New Home

I posted a review a couple of days ago regarding our recent move to a lovely new Lovell home on Lark Chase, I inadvertently failed to mention that the service afforded to both myself and wife has been exceptional with special thanks to both Ged the site Manager and his Assistant Manager Shane. Both these Managers are extremely helpful, courteous and respectful. They have ensured that jobs raised as part of their after sales occupiers snagging list have been or are in the process of either being attended to or a suitable date for any work to be carried out arranged to ensure that the work identified is to be completed. Both Managers have made courtesy calls at the address to ensure that we are happy with our new home and take the time to reassure us if anything is not as it should be. I can see as to why Lovell have been deemed 5 star rated with employees of this nature. Thank you again.
