GoogleMany thanks to Andrew & the team at Hunters Skipton for the sale of our property.Very professionally advertised including the virtual tour which threw a different light on the property allowing prospective buyers to see the property from a different perspective.
Nothing was too much trouble offering advice when needed always polite & courteous & always responded to queries in a timely manner.
No hesitation in recommending Hunters - a very professional & knowledgeable business in our local area.

TrustpilotI would strongly advise others to think…
I would strongly advise others to think twice before renting through this estate agent. When we signed our tenancy agreement, the property was advertised and agreed with included parking, which was a key factor in our decision to rent the flat.
However, just a few months into our tenancy, the parking was suddenly closed off and made unavailable. This caused significant inconvenience and disruption to our daily lives, especially as parking had been a major factor in choosing this property.
What’s particularly frustrating is how the situation was handled. The estate agent did very little to help resolve the issue and took no responsibility whatsoever, despite the parking being part of what was originally offered. Communication was poor, and we were essentially left to deal with the consequences on our own.
During this time, we were forced to park in a Tesco car park and pay for parking after work. On multiple occasions there were no spaces available, meaning I had to drive around late in the evening trying to find alternative parking elsewhere. This was both stressful and time-consuming.
To try and resolve the issue, my partner had to take several hours out of his working day over the course of a week, including attending a three-hour meeting. Despite this effort, the only solution offered was for the landlord to contribute just 50% towards alternative parking, which was located far away from our building in a public car park. Even with this contribution, it would still leave us paying over £100 extra per month for something that was originally included.
To make matters worse, the flat has now been re-let at a significantly lower price than we were paying. We were paying £1,200 per month with parking included, yet it has since been advertised for under £1,000 per month without parking. In that context, the offer to contribute just 50% towards inconvenient, off-site parking feels completely inadequate and frankly quite insulting.
We were ultimately forced to find a new property, which cost us hundreds of pounds in moving expenses, required taking multiple days off work, and caused a huge amount of stress. Despite this, the agent offered no compensation and even suggested we should be grateful to have been released from the contract.
Once we had agreed to leave due to the parking issues and lack of support, we were then required to accommodate viewings of the property. This took up additional hours of my partner’s working day and caused further disruption at an already stressful time while we were trying to organise our move.
Only months after we moved out did the agent state that the landlord would cover the additional parking costs we incurred, but this was conditional on us agreeing to drop any other potential claims. We will not be agreeing to this. Had they taken proper responsibility for misrepresenting the property and the significant inconvenience, cost, and stress caused, this situation may have been handled very differently.
The issues didn’t stop there. They then attempted to charge us money from our deposit for items such as “discoloration in the washing machine drawer”, something that was already documented in the original check-in report. They provided an amount for repair without any supporting cost evidence. When we challenged this and requested proof, the quotes we eventually received were extremely high and unreasonable. We had to stand our ground and escalate the matter to TDS for dispute resolution, and only then did we end up paying only 40% of what they were trying to charge.
It has now been months since we left the property and we still have not received our full deposit back, which is adding further financial strain and stress.
Overall, this experience has been extremely disappointing. A letting agent should provide support, take responsibility, and offer fair, reasonable solutions when issues arise. Unfortunately, this agent failed on all counts, and I would not recommend using them

GoogleAndrew and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They are efficient and extremely professional. From the very start, they were very informative about the whole procedure and how they would market our property. We especially liked the 360 virtual viewing tour software and the positive advice offered. Communications about potential visits and purchasers were very prompt and well organised. Without the advice of Andrew Procter at Hunters, we would have marketed our property at the much lower market prices suggested by many of Hunters competitors in our area. Thank you for all your help during this process - we highly recommend Hunters in Skipton.

Hello Louise. What a fabulous informative review, thank you so much. We always inform our vendors and landlords that to provide an accurate Market Appraisal / valuation involves a lot of prep work before the meeting. If one goes into an appointment armed with all the evidence and market information, its makes the valuation so much easier to understand. As a small family business, we strive to provide exceptional service, and response times, as well as get the best price.
All the very best to you all for the future.

GoogleIt is with regret that we write such a damning review but we have been treated carelessly by Hunters, particularly by ‘Rory’. Due to his sloppy handling of our share of a tenant’s deposit we had to borrow money to make our first mortgage repayment (alongside petrol and child care).
Our landlord instructed Hunters to release our money on the 2nd of August. It took 2 days for Hunters to acknowledge this (at least for this blunder they had the decency to apologise). However, after waiting patiently for the usual 3-5 working days for the deposit (though with previous agencies it never took more than 2) we politely contacted Hunters on the 10th as we’d heard nothing. This was where Rory lied about having contacted the Deposit Protection Scheme (who coincidentally contacted us for the first time the following day). Had he admitted to forgetting us and for not checking his emails, that would have been fine. Instead he got defensive and rude and had the audacity to accuse us of being rude. He said it’d be with us by Friday, it wasn’t with us until the following Tuesday- ANOTHER 6 days in total for us to finally receive the deposit.
Perhaps measly tenants do not warrant the same treatment as home buyers/owners. I know in my line of work, acknowledging emails within 24hrs is a basic e.g. of professionalism. Rory was told this in our phone call; “good for us” he callously remarked.
*Insert trite BS response here:*

Good afternoon Chris, and thank you for your review. As you mention, we were instructed to release the deposit on the 2nd of the month. We were extremely busy at that time with maintenance issues and as such this took us 48 hours to action. By law we are given longer to action this request. It is worth noting that we were not a managing agent of your tenancy and as such the deposit was not held in our own deposit protection account. The DPS contacting you was as a result of our notification to them to release the deposit minus the agreed deductions. Once this was authorized the funds were received. Despite your comments I would like to assure you that all our customers receive the same treatment start to finish and I am again sorry that you have not been 100% satisfied with your experience.

TrustpilotAvoid this agency at all costs.
I paid a £135 holding deposit to secure a room with an agreed move‑in date. The moment they took my money, they changed the date and told me I could only move in several days later. Because of their change, I could no longer proceed and asked for a refund, which they refused.
Every part of the process felt unprofessional. They changed key terms after taking payment, ignored the written agreement, and then tried to keep the deposit even though the change was entirely on their side. I had to escalate the issue to the Property Ombudsman because they simply would not do the right thing.
This experience caused unnecessary stress, wasted time, and disrupted my housing plans. Based on how they handled this situation, I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious before handing over any money.

TrustpilotRobot refused to give me a viewing
Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

TrustpilotDisappointed
Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.

TrustpilotMy experience with Hunters was deeply…
My experience with Hunters was deeply disappointing.
Repeated administrative errors relating to notices and tenancy handling caused unnecessary delays, additional time, and avoidable stress during possession proceedings. When I recently contacted the branch again regarding future instructions, I was informed in a dismissive manner that they no longer wished to work with me due to previous disputes, disputes which arose from their own handling failures.
Professionalism, accountability, and respectful communication appear seriously lacking based on my experience!

GoogleWe dealt with Andrew regarding the sale of a property in Gargrave and also Melanie for any office based queries. Importantly to us was the fact they have extensive local knowledge. The house sold for the price they values it at which was fantastic news. We were out of the country during the sale and found them very helpful and willing to go the extra mile for us. Many thanks for the sale guys!

Trustpilot"Avoid Hunters Property Management
"Avoid Hunters Property Management, Inefficient, Rude, and Unprofessional"My experience with Hunters Property Management has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They have consistently demonstrated poor service, inefficiency, and a dismissive attitude towards tenant concerns.Ineffective Issue Resolution: Hunters fails to handle even basic maintenance issues. For example, a heating issue during winter was passed to the landlord without any attempt to troubleshoot. I had to step in and take personal risks to resolve the problem myself, only to discover it was a simple battery replacement. Their inability to perform even basic triage highlights their lack of professionalism and problem-solving capabilities.Creating Gaps Between Tenants and Landlords: Instead of acting as a competent mediator, Hunters merely relays messages between tenants and landlords, causing delays and unnecessary misunderstandings. This approach has damaged the relationship between myself and the landlord, as the agency often fails to communicate effectively or accurately.Rude and Dismissive Behavior: The staff frequently respond to concerns with a dismissive tone, making tenants feel unsupported and undervalued. Their arrogant demeanor gives the impression that addressing tenant concerns is a favor rather than their responsibility.Neglecting Tenant Safety and Comfort: Health and safety issues, such as rat infestations and malfunctioning alarms, were not addressed promptly, despite the serious risks they posed. The lack of urgency in handling these matters has caused significant stress and discomfort for my family.Minimal Value Added: Hunters operates more like a messenger than a property management service. They fail to provide meaningful solutions and seem content to pass the burden of responsibility onto others, leaving tenants to fend for themselves.Overall, Hunters Property Management has proven to be unprofessional, inefficient, and dismissive. Both tenants and landlords deserve better. I strongly advise against using their services if you value timely resolutions, respect, and effective communication.

GoogleWe had a thoroughly positive experience. Service was friendly and helpful at all times. Andrew was very knowledgeable about local housing market conditions. He gave a valuation which exceeded our expectations and yet resulted in a good offer on the asking price within a few days. The 360 degree Virtual Reality Viewing Tour was amazing and we feel really contributed to the quick turnaround. We recommend Hunters whole-heartedly. David & Lorraine Hodgson

GoogleAndrew, Melanie and the team were fantastic when we appointed them in relation to our sale. They did a superb job getting our property on the market quickly, they helped generate a lot of interest and ultimately secured a great price for a totally pain-free sale.
We were also lucky enough to purchase our property through them as well and they were equally brilliant to deal with on that side. No matter was too trivial and they were always on hand with friendly help and advice. We found the 360 virtual tour especially valuable when looking at the property and even used it after a sale was agreed to help plan some initial renovations.

GoogleAndrew Proctor and his team did a great job selling my property. The photos were great, especially the virtual reality feature where you could walk around the house viewing it from anywhere in the world. The property was a bit quirky, but they worked hard to get all the answers to the buyers' queries which led to an offer and sale at the asking price. Well done Hunters!

Trustpilotlettings fees are very high
For lettings their fees are very expensive. First 3 months of my 450 rent studio flat they took and I did not get anything. When tenant leaves another month will be gone as inventory check is 180 and cleaning in 250 and this is for a studio flat. If i want to cancel the contract i have to pay 900. Stay away.

TrustpilotDisappointed is an understatement..
To say we’re disappointed with the level of communication from the Horncastle Branch with Michael and Susan Noonan is an understatement and the level of service is a far cry from Michael's commitment to customer experience.Researching this branch shows multi-occasions that this activity has happened here.If you’re viewing a property with the intent to buy, don’t expect them to tell you if any other parties are interested. They’ll just pull it from under your feet along with any visions or excitement of a future you had in said house.Viewed a property two weeks ago, following the viewing we had a really positive conversation with Susan in the office expressing great interest, no more than a week later sold to another buyer with no communication. It would have been professional and courteous to reach out to the buyer but more so to the seller, as I’m certain they would like to have known of other interest. Susan and Michael took away any opportunity or chance to put in any offers, resulting in many wasted hours.I wouldn’t usually leave a review; but the tone in which Susan delivered the news was blunt, lacked any sort of empathy and very closed, to date I am still waiting for a reply to my email which I can only assume has been ignored. We will steer clear of this company for future sales and purchases, knowing that their priority doesn’t appear to be with either buyer or seller.Happy to receive a call or email to discuss our experience with you.

GoogleWe recently sold our home with Hunters, Skipton. We were exceptionally impressed - Andrew and his team are true professionals.
Firstly, Andrew thought so highly of our house and given it was a unique renovation other agents had failed to see it’s true value. Andrew is extremely knowledgable and experienced; this really showed in his proposals, and proven when he secured an offer at the level he’d valued the property at.
The technology that Hunters use for virtual viewings is fantastic and means that only extremely interested buyers come to view the property. Andrew secured our offer in under a week - and we didn’t have numerous ‘half interested’ viewers to prepare for.
Finally the broader team were very responsive and highly professional throughout. We can’t recommend Hunters highly enough - thank you again to the team for a fantastic experience and phenomenal sale.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Hunters let the house adjacent to ours. There have been multiple pipe leaks around the bathroom causing flooding which in turn is causing damp smells on our side due to the length of time taken to address the issues. It's been repaired after four weeks now within hours water is currently coming through the ceiling next door soaking our party wall and they have told the tennant it's livable no problem.
