Throughout the entire process of selling our house, the team at Monks were excellent. From initial valuation conversations, to negotiating a sale price with our buyers, right through to handing the house keys over on completion day, Judy and the team were extremely professional, communicative, courteous and very helpful. The local knowledge of the friendly staff, who work at Monks, is a real positive, particularly as Shrewsbury continues to gain interest from potential buyers who do not already live in the Shrewsbury area, or have limited local knowledge (as was the case for our buyers). We would highly recommend Monks to anyone who is planning on selling their property in and around the Shrewsbury area. Thank you, everyone at Monks.

Dropped in with my partner to ask about a property for let, advertised in their window. After repeating several times, the property we were interested in, the man told us 'I think thst one has gone' he then shouted to a woman in a back room who just confirmed that the property had gone. Neither of them offered any alternative properties, they both just continued typing on their computers. Neither of them were interested so I apologised for bothering them and we left. Atrocious customer service, very rude and arrogant. Certainly wont be bothering you again. I dont expect a response.

Having bought and sold 7 houses in my time, and thus used a few estates agents, I would recommend Monks without any reservation as the best of them. They are efficient, friendly and helpful. Their advertising was creative, the photography of the house excellent and they secured an immediate and steady stream of viewers all of whom had clearly been vetted as being capable of purchase. Monks do seem to care about their appearance and they present themselves well but their service is far from the image they portray. When applying, we were regularly needing to check up on our application. Admittedly, this was due to us needing to move quickly but Monks were aware of this. They did also get our moving date wrong. There was information about the property we were moving in to that was only revealed after we had paid all fees and signed our contracts which would have greatly affected our interest in the tenancy had it been offered in advance. We voiced our concerns about these and other issues we had to the agency and while they came to the defence of the landlord, they only acknowledged the issues we listed that could be attributed to the landlord, skipping over anything that would be the fault of the agency. When these skipped issues were raised for a second time, noting that they were ignored the first, we stopped receiving any communication from the agency. I try not to judge Monks by the mistakes they have made but I am judging them for their inability to resolve any problems or even acknowledge the issue.

I’ve been using Monks for over 10 years looking after a couple of property’s that they rent out for me whilst I’m working abroad. I have been impressed with their professional attitude and knowledge of the rental market.
