I hired Letting Supermarket back in…

I hired Letting Supermarket back in September 2023 to find a tenant for my property. The service I have received from them has been abysmal. It started off with sending two people round the take photos and a video of the property. They actually didn’t take any photos, in the end I had to take them and send them over. They then signed my tenant up to a 12 month contract without me knowing and when I did finally realise they gaslit me into telling me they phoned me and informed me of this. The call they were referring to was me contacting them - funnily enough it wasn’t recorded. They then informed my tenant that he could refuse viewings as I have listed the property for sale. They have caused nothing but problems! STAY CLEAR!

Andy and the team at Lettingsupermarket take all of the stress, hassle and trouble out of managing and renting property. They really are the way forward if you want a relaxing life. Where's that corkscrew!!!

Excellent from start to finish

Excellent from start to finish, I’ve been with lettingsupermarket for 5 years only stopping because I’ve decided to sell my portfolio. I’ve used numerous agents over the years and they really have been fantastic. It’s easy to manage property when everything is going well. it’s when the difficult situations arise that require going that extra mile that they really shine. A couple of issues arose but I was immediately informed of the problem, there was no head in the sand moment, and where it was an error on there part they held there hands up and quick to resolve the issue. I’d recommend them to any landlord looking for a highly efficient, honest and cost effective agent. It’s been a pleasure working with them

Lettingsupermarket.com have exceeded my expectations. They manage my property portfolio with efficiency and care, saving me a huge amount of time and hassle. It’s refreshing to find a letting agent that’s this organised and transparent.

For the last 8 years I have used lettingsupermarket to manage my property portfolio. If there is ever an issue I can speak to someone and I am given professional advice and explained the potential outcomes. The whole team have been amazing in all aspects of managing my properties and really work hard to create an environment that is fair for the landlord and tenant which makes working with them in the long run. Their service is constantly evolving and it’s always exciting to see what new things they add to their platform and all of the staff are interested in your opinion on it.

Letting supermarket done everything…

Letting supermarket done everything they could to get me into the property as fast as possible. Everytime a problem they answered. Now I'm out of the property they're ignoring me. I've been out of the property for 3 months and I'm still waiting on my bond. They promise the world until your out. Absolutely pathetic

Thanks for your comments Mr Appleby, its good to know that you were happy with the service you received whilst in the property and that you felt this was efficient. You note that you had been out the property for 3 months when posting the review. You contacted us via telephone on 24th March at 11.20am to discuss vacating the property and asked for a return call at 7pm. We responded via email on 24th March 2022 at 11.39am to advise that any notice would need to be given in writing and to respond to this email to serve it. We also cc'd your guarantor into this email so they were aware. We never received notice in writing from yourself as is required in law however you guarantor responded on 26th April 2022 at 19.43pm stating that an email was sent on 22nd April at 14.05 which we never received and the correspondence asking us to view the email below did not exist as it was blank. We liaised with the landlord on your behalf to allow you to leave the property early bearing in mind no notice had been received. We therefore negotiated on your behalf to leave the tenancy early without having given any written notice. You vacated the property taking the keys with you and not providing us with a date to check out the property. We emailed you on numerous occasions requesting the return of the keys which in law would constitute a surrender of the tenancy, however we had agreed with the landlord and yourself to end your liability on 4th May as the landlord was selling. We required the keys to carry out the checkout to assess the property for dilapidations which you were notified on multiple occasions. Keys were received 2 months after the agreed termination date and only after numerous attempts to contact you and the landlord requesting that if they weren't returned that the monies would be deducted from your deposit. We returned the deposit within the given timeframe as stipulated by the deposit protection scheme and subsequently fail to see how a one star review can be given

Excellent service, very impressed.

We are very happy with Letting Supermarket. We have primarily dealt with Jenna from the Norwich office and have been very impressed with how she has handled the letting and management of our property. We have used a few agents previously, these are easily the best. Thank you Letting Supermarket.

Jenna and James were fantastic. Really friendly and approachable. Any issue that we had they resolved straight away and kept us fully updated. Jenna also gave us ample warning when she was coming to the property, which was an issue we had, had with our previous agency.Would totally reccomend!

Terrible agents

Questioned there fees, which would equal half the months rent, after having to ask 3 times what they would be. I was then told that the "landlord" had chosen to go with some one else, which i had already been informed that they was happy with me once i had complete their forms.

We believe this review has been written following the applicants application for a property being accepted and the tenant then not paying the application fee which is clearly listed on marketing as per advertising standards guidelines. The reviewer is not prepared to inform of us of there identity despite contacting them through trustpilot and subsequently we do not believe this should be classified as a review as we cannot be certain of the reviewers identity. With all our properties following the introduction of the legislation for the tenant fees ban as announced in parliament on November 2016 all our landlords have the option to charge the fees to the tenant or pay them, themselves. This applicant has lost out on the property due to not paying fees which were stipulated in the marketing in a timely fashion and subsequently we held more viewings and the landlord accepted a new tenant this morning (25th January 2019). We do not believe the tenant has grounds to submit a poor review as the only service received was a viewing after which the tenant applied for the property and was accepted.

very Professional company

Hi I don’t actually rent from letting supermarket, but I work for one of there clients who uses them for there houses, I have to say they are really good, if ever I need to contact them, they have a quick resonse, within an hour,( usually within half an hour) anything needs doing on the Propertys they let their client no, and get the problem sorted, very quickly,I work with other letting agency’s I can honestly say none of them can compare to these, I must admit I didn't expect this to work, off the Internet but it does very professionally.

A credit to themselves and their profession...

It’s difficult to put into words just how highly I value Lettingsupermarket and it’s Managing Director, Chris. Chris has carried on the fine work of his late Dad and produced a company that actually cares about its customers. Lettings and Chris are a credit to their profession and I can’t thank them enough for helping me through a very difficult time with a tenant and the council - not paying. Keep up the great work guys, and thank you. It goes without saying that I recommend this company wholeheartedly.

Things here are not what they purport to be…

Like many Landlords who visit and use Property118.com, I would like to think that the integrity of those advertising on the forum, was above average, especially when the founder of the website has himself declared a financial investement in a particular service or company they advertise. Such a service is Lettingsupermarket.com who on the face of it appear to be a Landlord's blessing, but my recent experience with them shows that it is anything but. 1st and main problem is that they tell you that if you advertise with them, then if a tenant can't be found within 4 weeks, then your fee is returned. Having reached that situation, there seems to be a huge reluctance to refund any money. Initially I e-mailed them to let them know. No reply. Then I rang at the beginning of the week, and was told that the usual contact was busy. I rang again, and was told that he was now going on holiday, but that he would sort things out for me.The property was taken off Rightmove, but no refund has taken place. Despite ringing each day, I am always told that the person I need to speak to was 1) Not available, 2) Too busy, or 3) That they would ring me back. Nobody has ever rung me back. Having rung again just now, I am told that I need to speak to someone in Accounts, but they were out. Now there is a surprise. When asked who I needed to speak to, she didn't know, but eventually provided me with a name. Of course, he'll give me a call back in 30 minutes, but I'm not holding my breath! I'm not giving up, so will keep calling.2nd problem - They are mighty slow at what they do, and make numerous mistakes & omissions. The referencing for the property let through them in June, took two weeks, and I almost lost a tenant because of this.3rd problem - My properties are for single people, and this set up charges the same for referencing, whether 1 or 2 people going into a property. £120 per person if two people, & £240 for a single person. A huge deterrent for single people interested in a property. In conclusion, things here are not what they purport to be, and I would suggest that you also look at the alternatives carefully before committing to these people. It all sounded so good at the start.I've just had contact with the MD and others, who, hands up, accept what I say and have explained the reasons behind the service received, and will look to remedy matters so these don't happen again, plus a refund. Let's hope they live up to these promises.

service, way beyond the call of duty

Unlike so many agents, particularly those online only, our experience felt very personal (so lacking in 90% of businesses these days). Andrew the director we dealt with, was most helpful, way beyond the call of duty. I will definitely and actively recommend your services

Couldn't manage without them

Letting Supermarket are a vital component of our family property investment business. We couldn't cope with a portfolio of our size without their help. They are totally on the ball in terms of paying rent as it is collected and any tenant related issues. Not only are they the best management company we have dealt with in nearly 30 years of being in this business, they are also the most competitively priced we have ever found.

It Would Be Unreasonable To Ask For More From A Letting Agent

Helpful, efficient, professional, practical, highly effective and great value. Lettingsupermarket have helped me rent properties for approx 3 years now and have not once let me down or given me any cause for concern. In fact, I only have praise for the service I have received from them. They tick all the boxes and the advice they give is invaluable. They have saved me from going down the wrong path a few times now.
