I listed my property with Hyman Hill in Shoreham for a few months in 2025 and it was a refreshing experience compared to selling a property in Brighton with a different company. Christian and the team were honest, approachable and extremely knowledgeable of the local area and market and kept in regular touch throughout this period. Unfortunately, I had to remove the property from the market for reasons not related to Hyman Hill but as soon as I am able to list it again, it will be with Hyman Hill.

From the first time we met I could tell that Christian was professional, personable, focussed and keen to do his very best job for us. He might have got a bit lucky with a quick sale but throughout the sale he was in regular contact about progress and continually followed up others in the chain so as to be able to provide a useful update when asked. Christian and his team recently sold my house after what turned out to be a lengthy and complicated process. They gave excellent service throughout, managing all parties to achieve a successful outcome. They handled all post-survey queries on my behalf making the transaction as straightforward as possible. Christian gave realistic advice based on in depth knowledge of the local market and suggested alternatives, moving quickly when it looked like we might need to rent the property. From start to finish we received excellent service from Christian and the team. We were only selling a property but they did a great job of keeping us informed every step of the way. We even used the solicitors they suggested and although a little more expensive we found them very helpful and efficient. I was a little surprised to read in the solicitors documentation that they gave Hyman Hill a £175 fee for each referral. I realise this is the way business works but it seemed like maybe this should have been mentioned by Christian when I said the solicitor seemed a bit more expensive than usual, just a comment for future open and honest communication. I have to give a shout out to Ben in the Shoreham office, very easy to work with and always pleasant and very professional.

From the initial market appraisal and valuation (not just giving us some inflated figure to win the business) the whole team at Hyman Hill have been excellent. Pricing it correctly gave us a stream of viewings and several offers within 28 days (March 2023) . They then managed the tricky process of dealing with the ourselves, the buyer, mortgage valuations, solicitors, freeholders :-) and everyones emotions which is were you need an experienced estate agency team behind you to help the sale progress to completion. Update and response to HH's comment 28/03/19: If a concern or complaint to this magnitude comes in, you should have acted appropriately, but you didn't. You should be keeping a record of these complaints, so, if you can't find it on your records, that's a concern in itself. It is not the clients job to do it for you. The property has now been sold and you got the money; why would you care otherwise. Before, anyone wonders if the rent was being paid......yes, it was. A full £10k in advance. Whilst there is no current law to protect tenants from rogue landlords (only a piloted scheme in the London area), you'd think agencies would have a degree of empathy towards suffering, yet brilliant tenants. I rented a property via HH having previously suffered an awful ordeal and was looking to settle down in a place for a couple of years. I was very specific to the letting team of my requirements, one being, having a decent and professional landlord. Within 2 weeks of signing a contract and moving in, we were subjected to a series of harassment and given notice to leave the property when we had another year on it. The landlord wanted to sell and they were trying every tactic possible to getting us to move. A few days later, we learned that the landlords had placed the house on the market BEFORE we moved in and AFTER we had signed the contract. They were selling it as a vacant property. HH performed a valuation on the property so, they knew about this, however, they lied to us by saying that the landlords were new to their books. I smelt a rat. A few days more into the tenancy, the former tenants visited the property to collect mail and during their visit, informed us that the landlords had been on HH's books for several years, furthermore, confirmed that HH had performed a valuation to sell so, they were shocked to discover the property had been rented out again especially as they had suffered similar fate of harassment in order to move. On top of the on going barrage of our own harassment from the landlords, an agency who was more interested in taking our money yet knew of the issues, us trying to recover; the stress levels had caused us a magnitude of issues that took us over a year to recover after we moved the property. Hyman Hill, had you simply been honest with us, I would have been more than happy to write a positive review. You may be a good agency in general, however, you haven't the foggiest clue on what to do when faced with a problem to this scale and I do not appreciate the lengths you went to to cover up the lies. You simply did not care for our well being and you closed ranks when I uncovered the truth and confronted you.
