It has been an emotional time but the process has been massively helped by the team at Hunters Selby. They really care what happens and how it happens and it shows in their positive can do attitude. Hunters is a joke

I have had experience with Hunters in the past on multiple occasions. I am disappointed everytime from their lack of felixibility. For example if you're trying to rent and your annual income matches but does not excees what is expected by Hunters then they will abruptly cut you off. Also horrible customer service by the staff and do not know what they are doing. On a flat i called twice one staff member told me i had to satisfy an income of 29.000 pounds and another staff member told me i had to exceed 30.000 wich makes me doubt their honesty. I have had much better experiences with other agencies. Do not reccomend.

I cannot praise the Team at Hunters Selby enough. In May 2019 we decided to sell our home, we went with Hunters as we found Rebekah to be much more friendly and MUCH more laid back that some of the other hard sell estate agents we'd spoken to. They they sold our house within 10 days for a price very close to our asking price, we had 14 viewings within the first week and two within the first half an hour of it going live on their site! Unfortunately a week later I lost my job meaning we very reluctantly had to pull out of the sale, Hunters were amazing! They gave us a couple of days in which to make the decision and see if there was any way we could still go ahead with the sale but when we decided there wasn't they just dealt with it and we were not charged any fee's or anything which was such a weight of our minds in that situation. Later that year after securing another job we decided to try again and the house was again sold very quickly within 3 weeks, this time for full asking price! The whole team were brilliant at keeping us informed in every single step of the process with a phone call at least once a week to tell us exactly what was happening and how things were moving on. They are all brilliant at what they do, the fact they are all lovely, friendly,cheerful people who clearly love their job and make a great team just makes for an even more pleasant experience. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family and if i were ever to move house again I wouldn't even consider selling with anyone else. Hunters were brilliant from start to finish. We tried selling our property with another agent, with very little success. We moved to Hunters and within 3 weeks we had sold!. They took a very personal approach to letting people know where are property was (as we are a bit out of the way) which made a massive difference. After the sale was agreed they were really helpful in terms of helping make sure the sale went smoothly, always doing what they could to help and always responding quickly to calls and emails. After a bad experience previously with another of the Selby estate agents, it was a breath of fresh air using Hunters Selby. From Rebekah's initial home visit, to Lisa and the rest of the team's efforts throughout the process, they made the whole experience easy and thankfully not (too) stressful! The photographer they employ produced some great photos (and at one point made me think twice about selling the house because it looked so good!). My house sale occurred during the initial lockdown process, but they still maintained a good level of communication and help. An unfortunate attitude from Hunters

My boyfriend and I were purchasing a property through Hunters and they were pleasant enough. However, when we received the results of the independent survey two months down the line, it highlighted what we considered to be significant problems with the property, particularly the necessity of a whole new roof, and the replacement of brickwork.Naturally, we had not - and could not have - factored in the cost of these repairs, or the time it would take to carry them out, so we emailed our contact at Hunters in Sunderland, simply outlining the issues that the survey had presented, and attaching the report in full. The reply we received explained ‘The seller is not under any obligation to carry out any work or offer a reduction’. While true, this attitude seemed hostile to us, and rather unprofessional. We did not mention a negotiation of price, or the current owners carrying out the work themselves - although, to be frank, these did not seem unreasonable expectations.We had misgivings about how considerable an undertaking the repairs would be, both financially and physically, but were open to discussing options with Hunters/the sellers. However, we decided to withdraw from the sale, and Hunters’ attitude did play a big part in that. As a prospective buyer, you do not have a choice over which estate agent to deal with, but I would certainly be reticent about purchasing a property sold by Hunters in the future, and would strongly advise sellers to consider the overwhelmingly negative reviews on this page before engaging Hunters, as the wrong estate agent could scupper a sale, as in this case.

Dishonest and unprofessional

We drove over 250 miles to view a house listed for let @ £900. We said we like it and were happy to proceed, after all similar properties down south cost £1000 a month….We were absolutely shocked when they got back to us, offering us the house for £1000 because they knew we could afford it… we were aghast! I have never ever encountered such skullduggery and dishonesty…. Of course we declined… how can one deal with such a dishonest estate agent as these!

Waste of time

As working professionals who can rarely get free time during the weekdays, it's extremely annoying to book days off to view properties to find they're by application, and we submitted our application the day we viewed, only to have the application be rejected because it wasn't processed in time before the landlord accepted an alternative application. Not worth the time.

Hunters Horncastle:If you are looking for an EA who keeps you updated and informed then I would NOT use Hunters, if you want the privilege of paying for doing your own work then by all means use this EA, also if you want to feel as though the EA is acting on behalf of the buyer instead of the seller… this is the one for you!!! They say the right things to get the initial business and then offer bad advise and never any follow up or conversations about the state of the market during contract period, even when requested. Also emails and WA messages were ignored. Worst Estate Agent I’ve ever used. It seems that Katherine (who did the viewings) and Susan (admin) seem to hold them just above water and do all the donkey work. Just my honest opinion!! Would have given zero rating if possible

Wow what a journey! From going on the market to completion, dealing with everyone at Hunters never felt like a chore. Always a friendly voice on the other end of the line, even whilst it felt things were going sideways. They stayed calm and reassuring throughout the whole process, despite our many many phone calls to them every day! They chased relentlessly, and always kept us informed. The main thing for us was their friendly approach - we were always greeted by name when ringing, and it was like talking to our friends, rather than paid professionals - we loved this approach - far less formal and made for a more enjoyable experience, especially when we were panicking. We trusted them to do the right thing always. Thanks all - we wouldn’t be here without you!

I would highly recommend hunters as they provide exceptional service and go above and beyond to help as much as they can with your move to ensure things run smoothly. They are very informative of what happens and keep in regular contact to keep you updated on how thing are running. The whole team from Rebeka, Lisa, James and penny are fantastic and really make you feel welcome and comfortable through the whole process. They have a professional photographer who comes to your house to take the photos and WOW... the quality of the pictures and how they really capture your house to maximise in selling it is just amazing! The brouchers and internet page is displays brilliantly. From start to finish with the whole process.. hunters have just been outstanding with everything they have done for me. I would recommend 110 percent. You will not be disappointed with Hunters! I will use them again if I ever sell my house.

We have know Rebekah since 2007 when Hunters in Selby acted on our behalf to sell the house we owned at the time. They did a great job back then and we've had cause to use this estate agent since without any problems. Over the years we've come into contact with Hunters when buying and selling property and have never had any problems with the professional service they've offered. They even introduced us to a solicitor that we still use today - we won't use anybody else. We've called on Rebekah recently for advice that neither she or Hunters would have benefited from, for which she gave her time generously. Hunters in Selby comes well recommended from us - when you meet your estate agent whilst out shopping and get a hug from them after all this time, then I think that says an awful lot about the friendly but professional service they offer.

I was buying a house through hunters

I was buying a house through hunters, wasn’t the best experience in the world. When it came to getting the keys from the bishop Auckland office, I was told to wait outside in the cold for 15 minutes, then presented with 1 key by itself, there was no congrats on your first home or any welcome gifts or anything, just here’s your key, see you later 👍🏼😂 got into the house, it wasn’t clean, the kitchen had been flooded which warped all the kitchen floor which I then had to pay to get it sorted. They should have done a check once the owners were out the house in order to make sure it was in a fit state and as seen on the viewings. I’ve since rented out houses around that area and stayed well clear of hunters, I would never use them again after the experience I had with them.
