GoogleIf you are a landlord, be careful with Griffin Estates. Renting out your property seems to be the least of their priorities.
I was looking for a flat to rent, booked a viewing, and no one showed up. I tried to contact them multiple times and, after waiting for nearly an hour, I left. I contacted them the next day to understand what had happened and was told that the agent was running late and had decided not to attend the viewing at all.
I gave them another chance, as mistakes happen. I booked another viewing, rearranged my whole day and work schedule once again and, guess what? The agent didn’t have the keys.
I was then told I would receive another call the next day to rearrange, and, you guessed it, no one ever called me or even bothered to apologise.
I would have been the perfect tenant for the property and was willing to pay six months in advance, but I decided to walk away as their lack of professionalism is appalling.
Oh, and you guessed right again, the property is still on the market. No wonder why.
Do better.

GoogleI recently rented a property just under 12 months as the owner wanted to sell. After moving out i had to wait nearly 3 weeks to receiving back my deposit as the flat needed to be checked my the landlord. After speaking with Anne-Marie she sorted it for me and ensured due to the time I have waited to get my deposit back was in my account within 24hrs. Very helpful and appreciate the staffs help at griffin estates

GoogleAs a landlord, you expect a managing agent to look after the simple things related to the tenancy. This wasn’t the case with Griffin Estates. I’ve dealt with many estate agents over the years, both buying and renting and Griffin are the worst I’ve dealt with - avoid.

GoogleAwful experience as a first time tenant. Were very moody and arrogant on the phone, and reluctant to help with simple matters such as repairs to property. "Small cleaning" also came out of our deposit when we left it in a cleaner condition than we found it. Property was perfect for us but we cancelled after 6 month solely because of Griffin. Would not recommend if you are a moving out for the first time and considering renting with Griffin Estates.

GoogleSimilar experiences to others regarding deposit at end of tenancy. Holding money for items that I purchased and removed, cleaning when it was spotless etc. Just starting to go through grievance with dps now. Terrible experience, rented here for 8 years, paid for a new lounge carpet etc, the carpet the landlord wanted etc spent lots of money on the property after the last person smoked in there it was awful. Trying to keep all but £50 of my deposit and trying to charge me for my own furniture. I am a sole parent as well. They called my 80 year old father stating it was an emergency as he was the contact when they couldn't get through to me as I was working (I work really long hours) regarding a visit. This all feels like payback for not waiting to be evicted when the landlord sells the property and putting my notice in before. I don't care if this effects any mediation if it puts someone off renting with them it is worth it. Really rude, disrespectful and they try to take all your deposit. Avoid at all costs. I've never not got a full deposit back in 25 years of renting until now. I'm not sure how they sleep at night, there is no integrity.

GoogleWhat a horrible company this is. I had the worst experience ever with them. They are very unprofessional, they Lie and they change what they agree on with you. They dont maintain their properties or do repairs in a timely manner. I was left for a month with a faulty shower. I had multiple leaks in the apartment. They wanted to unfairly charge me rent after I have left my apartment and take my deposit. I went to a solicitor and as soon as he emailed them they changed their tone completely and gave me my deposit back. Avoid them at all costs.

GoogleThe worst letting agents ever! Not capable of handling any maintenance issues efficiently at all! Their "subcontractors" are either relatives or friends, that if are unable to fix something then Griffin calls DPM, but that is expensive...so you can wait for weeks as they need the landlord's (Irish pension company's) approval... If the quotation does not get approved then they would try another contractor again.... Whilst you are running circles with them, lots and lots of time get wasted, all on your account... I have an outstanding repair for three (!) years that they were unable to fix!
If the manager is on holiday, straight after goes "off sick" - at least that is what the office staff says, as they ask "who calls" first, then they say "she is not in the office" - and of course no-one is filling in for her...
Some of their staff members (i.e. Angela) is barking on the phone - rude, arrogant and threatening.
Pathetic, arrogant, malicious business! Avoid them at any cost!!

GoogleI was a first time tenbant with griffin estates and had an awful experience with them, staff are rude and they don't understand their own policies and are a nightmare to get a hold off, took 6 months for them to complete a simple maintanence issiue and their response times when you contact them, the only way I can put it is it would be easier to raise the dead. Upon issuing my notice to leave my property I was belittled and made to feel I was in the wrong, if you want to rent a property I would not recommend you to use them unless you want to have issues and problems, they have ultimately ruined my first experience of renting a property and I am truly glad to no longer be with them.

GoogleIf I could give less then one star I would!! Avoid!! Avoid!! Avoid!! As first time tenants with this agency we had such awful service! They took ages to deal with any issues we had with appliances, electric or water. At one point they gave me the number for the contractor and basically told me to sort the issue myself. Had a absolute nightmare getting my deposit back, receiving £309 less then we oringally put down!! Never ever again would I rent a property with these!!

GoogleI asked Griffin to rent my property late in November 2013 and thought that I may struggle to get a tenant before Christmas. I was extremely impressed with the effort that Griffin put into getting the property rented as quickly as possible. I was advised in advance about each viewing and updated with the prospective tenants comments afterwards. A number of people wanted the property but did not pass the credit checks and each time Griffin advised me on where the application was up to, etc. to ensure that I ended up with a trouble free tenant before Christmas. The staff have always been very helpful and answered any queries that I have had/put my mind at rest. To-date my tenant has been completely trouble free and I have received my rent on time each month together with a statement of account. Any small problems have been dealt with promptly and efficiently at minimum cost. I would most definitely use Griffin again rather than any other agent and would highly recommend their services.

GoogleAbsolutely nightmare! The apartment I moved in was dirty but I managed to clean it and kept it in a great condition for 3 years of my tenancy. I moved out leaving the apartment in perfect and very clean condition as I heard that the agent charge for a "small cleaning" even if it is not required at all. After sending several emails pushing the agent to receive my deposit I was of course charged for a small cleaning. I wonder how much money they make when they charge everyone for things which are not required just simply to make additional profit. It is a crime and because people agree to it they allow agents to do it.
AVOID AT ANY COSTS!!!

Don't use this business they are unprofessional and will retain your deposit. They are arrogant and if you look at all the Google reviews this backs them up. Please don't give them any deposit as they will lie to keep it

GoogleRented an apartment with griffin estates until recently moving to the north east, all staff very friendly & bent over backwards to help me find my apartment within my budget. Had to have locks changed on property as I lost my keys, this was dealt with swiftly & professionally even though it was my own fault. Could not fault staff would highly recommend using Griffin Esates

GoogleDon't ever rent off these people, they don't look after their clients and think of ways to take your deposit off you. Bathroom ceiling fell threw within 2 weeks of moving in and it wasn't fixed for two months. Took over £100 from my deposit which they failed to give me back until 2 months later! Constant issues! Stay away from them!

GoogleWould give no stars if possible. Awful experience as a tenant. Maintainance issues stretching on for months with no input despite repeated calls/emails. Car parking lapses. Asked whether it was 'a problem' to be locked in ones own home. Take my advice and avoid if you can.
