Pauline and Barry have been fantastic and supportive throughout my whole 18 month tenancy. There was no issues with the property, and I very much enjoyed my time there. A new boiler replacement was required which got dealt with by Barry immediately, contacting the engineer and arranging the work to carried out as soon as possible. Please read through this before renting or buying with Amethyst. We began renting with amethyst back in 2023, and quickly, problems started to show. Every email I sent regarding essential maintaince to the house was ignored, along with my calls, which were answered with empty promises. On many occasions, I physically entered the estate agents and was met with hostility and rudeness from Pauline. She belittled me, spoke down to me, and when questioned about her practice, she became aggressive. Barry and Pauline do not follow their own procedures in regards to maintaince, viewings, and communication and have made every excuse to explain their behaviour. Once we handed our notice in, Barry specially went out of his way to arrange a viewing on the day that we had arranged for the moving van to come, explaining that this was the only time that the clients were available. However, the prospective clients later explained that they were available all day despite Barry's story. Everything was a struggle with these estate agents. They take no blame for the damage that was done to the property as a result of their negligence. The landlord of the property was shocked at the estate agents' lack of attention when ordering maintaince. The problems that arose after the work was completed by incompetent contractors was never communicated with the landlord, and again, this was something that they tried to push under the carpet. Please avoid these estate agents at all costs.

Pauline and Barry from Amethyst have both been brilliant! The day that I applied to be a tenant at a property in 2024, they immediately took it off the market, giving me confidence that no other potential tenants were going to gazump me. When I moved in, they made sure that I was comfortable in my new home, informed me about utility providers, and that everything was in working order, or organising and chasing the landlord/tradesmen when things like the garage door needed replacing. They have answered my full spectrum of questions (from stupid, to not) with haste and efficacy. It's been a pleasure being their tenant. It's unfortunate that I'm moving out of their catchment to be closer to family. I would gladly have stuck with them if my next property was in Rugby.

I have been a client of Amethyst Lettings since June 2008. Pauline and her staff have provided me with excellent service thoughout the whole period. I trust her completely with the management of my rental property. I receive a six-monthly review on the condition of the property and am quickly alerted of anything that requires attention. Most repairs and replacements are dealt with by tradespeople recommended by Pauline. The prices quoted are always reasonable and the work is carried out promptly and efficiently. I have no hesitation in recommending Amethyst Lettings for its ethical, efficient and professional service.

This is the first private property I have ever rented out. Although I was very new to renting I must say I am very happy that this was the first place I rented since the property was nice and spacious, fully furnished and very close to my workplace. Viewed a house, pressured to put holding deposit down, done that, an issue came up in my partners referencing which we explained (blended family, his ex owed money to a property but he’s had to pay it off as he worked and she didn’t and he was on the tenancy after the split), told if we paid what was owed we could continue with letting the property so within 45 mins, paid what was owed on said property for him to tell us they’ve found somebody else after saying once the issue was sorted the house was ours. Amethyst really have restored my faith in letting agents! I’ve had some bad experiences but I’ve been a tenant with amethyst for over 2 years now and Pauline and Barry (and all the other staff) have been so welcoming and helpful throughout. If there’s an issue it gets sorted with no blame games. If there’s confusion or misunderstanding, they communicate in a professional and understanding way and always work for the best interests of both the land lord and the tenant. I recently had a change of landlord with the house being sold and they were very conscious of me and my situation throughout the process which went smoothly and I was barely affected.
