Very disappointing experience. Paid £415 holding deposit on 2 Feb 2026 after clearly telling the agent I’d go up to the asking price £1,850 pcm if needed. They kept showing the property and accepted a higher offer while holding my deposit, this goes against the Tenant Fees Act 2019, which says stop advertising once a holding deposit is paid. They never told me about the competing higher offer, I would have matched it or gone higher. Communication was unclear, facts were distorted in their response, and the process lacked transparency and fairness. Wouldn’t recommend if you want a reliable agent.

Had a really brilliant experience with Hunters from start to finish and with any member of staff I interacted with. In my search for a home I spoke to several estate agents and hunters were by far the most helpful, professional, efficient, reliable. I had a lot difficult with personal situations that arose and Helen in particular was an absolute gem. There was regular communication and HElen was on it! I definitely recommend Hunters if your thinking about moving, From day one When I got contacted with them about moving in the future , Dev came round view my house in the Nov 2020 I explained that I wouldn’t be putting my house on the market to the following spring/summer in that time I had no hassle of phones calls from them in that time which I liked. I can’t recommend the team at Hunters highly enough but a special mention to Dev and especially Helen who went above and beyond to sell my elderly mothers house. When it looked like my mum might have to complete on the sale of her home before the purchase of the new flat Helen kept on chasing from her end even though her side of the process was finished. Communication was great, with weekly email updates given in addition to calls and emails where necessary. We used Hunters Chadwell for the purchase of our new home. Once we registered we had in depth conversation of what we were looking for and location. Ben was our sales consultant (he was great) who took everything on board and within viewing 3 houses we managed to secure the third one that ticked off most of the checklist within our range. After that Helen was the next person who took the sale through to completion. She was fantastic; We had a minimum of weekly updates, we could phone/email her any time with any questions and would have a swift response. She would chase up everything from all sides.
