Be prepared to fight at every stage

A horrendous experience from start to finish. They will say anything to get you on side but only follow through with 50% of the job. Sales experience back in 2022 was shoddy with constant promises for incentives to then be removed, our house price being increased on the back of their error and being asked to sign a ‘reduction’. Snags were plentiful and only half ever completed, despite plenty of exchanges. Those were also a fight and half-fixed. Even almost 4 years after moving in we are having to raise formal complaints based on misinformation by their teams, sloppy building work including end caps missing to the roof that have allowed birds to nest and create a huge mess that they claim they aren’t responsible for cleaning, yet it was their incompetence and lack of care causing the issue in the first place. Everything is a fight or requires constant chasing which is incredibly draining and demoralising. Avoid the company and don’t purchase if you want a smooth experience post signing. They do anything to get you through the door then stop caring when you are. They truly only care about your money.

I visited York Vale Gardens recently just walked in to have a look around and get an idea of what’s available, as I’m not quite ready to make a decision yet. I have to say, Nicola was outstanding. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely lovely to deal with. She took the time to explain everything without putting any pressure on me, and I came away feeling really impressed by both her knowledge and the whole experience. Even though I’m only at the looking stage, Nicola made such a positive impression. She is a real credit to Harron Homes and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. Thank you, Nicola! An amazing site team and lovely house

The Sales Manager Kesiah was welcoming and very helpful when we were looking at the plots, always in contact with us and always has a smile on her face When we moved in, all the workmen on the site were helpful and the Site Manager always went that extra step with any issues. When we did have an issue and needed to contact customer services, Lynn got everything sorted and regular contact to make sure our issue had been resolved Overall, myself and my family couldn’t have had such a great experience moving in and 10 weeks later, we are still so happy. Yes, we have had a few small issues but it’s a new build so everyone expects this. But there were so minor, when we reported a problem, it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Really impressed with our Harron Home

We moved into Castle Gardens at the end of June 2026 and overall, we’ve been really impressed with both the quality of the house and the customer service. Natalie was fantastic from reservation right through to moving in, keeping us informed and providing regular updates, which made the whole process much less stressful. As you’d expect with any new build, we did have a number of snags to deal with, but over three quarters have already been resolved, largely thanks to Marcin who has been proactive addressing issues. We are confident the remaining few will be sorted soon. Having lived in a couple of new-build homes, we have something to compare with, and genuinely feel that the overall quality and finish of our Harron home is better than some of the other builders we’ve experienced. What has really stood out, though, is the customer service. Communication was excellent throughout and issues are listened to, followed up and actually dealt with. We’re very happy with our new home so far and would definitely recommend Harron Homes based on our experience. A particular thank you to Natalie and Marcin for making the process and aftercare such a positive experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent experience with Harron Homes, Victoria Heights, Fixby We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Harron Homes at Victoria Heights, Fixby. From the very beginning, the whole process has been far better than we expected, and the quality of the finished home has genuinely impressed us. A special mention has to go to Jackie, the Sales Manager, who has been absolutely fantastic throughout. She has gone above and beyond on numerous occasions, always being approachable, helpful and willing to sort things out. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble, and she consistently exceeded our expectations. It’s very clear that she genuinely cares about the customer experience rather than simply getting the sale completed. We also have to give a huge amount of credit to James, the Site Manager. He has been brilliant from start to finish and has taken real pride in the quality of the homes being delivered. He has been extremely helpful, responsive and professional, and again went well beyond what we expected from a site manager. Any questions or issues we raised were dealt with properly and promptly. The snagging process has also been excellent. Rather than feeling like we were left to discover problems ourselves after moving in, the team were proactive in identifying and addressing things, and James made sure that the snags were followed up and completed properly. That level of attention to detail really makes a difference when you're buying a new-build home. Most importantly, we are genuinely impressed with the quality of the Harron Homes build. The house feels solid, well finished and thoughtfully designed, and the standard of workmanship has been much better than some of the negative stereotypes you often hear about new-build homes. There are always going to be a few minor things with any new property, but what matters is how they are dealt with, and Harron have been excellent in that respect. The development itself at Victoria Heights is also a great place to live, and the overall experience has been extremely positive. Buying a new home is a huge investment and can understandably be a stressful experience, but Jackie and James made the process considerably easier and more enjoyable for us. Their attitude, professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile really stood out. A massive thank you to Jackie, James and the wider Harron Homes team at Victoria Heights. They genuinely went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Harron Homes based on our experience.

Really happy with our experience buying…

Really happy with our experience buying our first home through Harron Homes. Out of everywhere we viewed in the area, Harron offered the biggest and most spacious new-build properties, and by far the best value. Nat, our saleswoman, was fantastic throughout. She made it really clear what was required from us at every stage, which was invaluable as first-time buyers, and kept in great communication the whole way through, it genuinely put us at ease. Rowan, the site manager, went above and beyond, and all the workers on site were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The exchange and moving process was easy and completely hassle-free. On moving day, the team made a huge effort with gifts and little touches to make it a special moment for us as a couple buying our first home together. Buying with Harron Homes has been an amazing experience from start to finish! We first visited the Low Riddings development in January just to have a look around. At the time, both my partner and I still had homes to sell, but we instantly fell in love with the area and one particular house style. Sylvia Weijers has been an absolute superstar throughout the entire process. She has been incredibly helpful, professional, and supportive from day one. Her customer service is second to none. She kept in regular contact while my property was being part exchanged and my partner’s home was being sold, always keeping us updated and going above and beyond, even on moving day. From our initial appointment to look at the show homes back in May we knew we were in good hands with Charlotte at Shipley lakeside, her knowledge of the development and the house styles was impressive and her customer service was even better. From the moment we stepped into the show homes for the first time, we could see ourselves living there. We had seen a few plots available online in the Settle house type and was very interested in reserving as we had always wanted to live in the area. Charlotte took the time to walk us around the development and show us existing Settle plots as well as putting us in touch with the closest development with that house type as their show home so we could go and see our potential future home in real life. We went to view the Settle show home later the same day and immediately fell in love. A week later, after getting our decision in principle through their recommended mortgage advisors which was so easy and quick, we reserved our plot. We had opted to part exchange our current house, as the option to stay in our old house until our new house was ready to move in to was a major benefit for us. Fast forward to this weekend and we have now exchanged contracts and finalised our colour choices and options ahead of our expected completion date of the end of November. The whole process so far has been seamless and we are beyond excited to move in to our new house, the weekly updates we receive from Charlotte are a lovely personalised touch that we really appreciate. We have been impressed with the selection of colour choices and options available. We were initially dubious about using their recommended solicitors (which was a requirement of the part exchange) as we had negative reviews from others in similar situations but Fidler and pepper have been so easy to work with and being able to view and sign the majority of the forms via their app has made it so much easier for us. We cannot thank Charlotte enough for taking the stress out of the situation and making the experience so far so enjoyable.

Avoid buying with Harron Homes

We initially gave Harron Homes the benefit of the doubt because we were genuinely happy when we first moved into our home. The location at Shipley Lakeside is beautiful, and we were excited to start this new chapter. Unfortunately, five months on, it's become clear that the standard of workmanship is extremely poor. The biggest issue is our private road. It started crumbling within just 10 weeks of being laid and, four months later, it has deteriorated even further. The surface is breaking up, becoming loose and stony, which is completely unacceptable for a brand-new development. Harron Homes have advised residents that this is simply "wear and tear" and that, because the road is private, it will be down to the residents to pay for repairs. If this is the standard they build roads to, it raises serious concerns about what we can expect from the houses themselves in the years to come. We're also still waiting for snags to be resolved five months after moving in, despite repeatedly chasing them. Our LVP flooring has already required several repairs and is now lifting again, suggesting the underlying issue has never been properly addressed. It's incredibly disappointing. We loved the location and had high hopes when we moved in, but the ongoing quality issues and lack of accountability have completely changed our opinion. Based on our experience, the build quality and aftercare have fallen well below the standard we expected from a new-build home.

After having second thoughts on what we thought would be our forever home, we phoned Harron Homes about the Oaks in Somercotes. I came in contact with Ann about the site and we spoke at length about our needs and what the site could offer us. Ann told us about the house type that would suit us and the plot. We then arranged to go and look at a complete house type of that style with Ann and nothing was to much with the questions we asked. Fast forwarding to the launch day we had been invited down to view the plot the day before and we loved it and couldn't be happier. nothing is to much of an issue and any questions you have are always answered. We moved in our Harron home at Christmas it was a bit of a rocky start but everything went well in the end. Natalie at castle gardens has been fabulous. She supported us throughout the purchase process of the property and always kept us up to date with what was going on. Evan now we have moved in Natalie is always on hand to answer any questions and support us with problems we have. We have had a few snags in the property which have slowly gotten sorted. This would be one of the negatives I have to say, there is no speed when trying to get through to after sales team and updates are very rare as to when things are getting sorted.

I decided to downsize ......

I decided to downsize as my property was too big for me. On a whim I visited the Laughton Gate development and viewed a 3 bedroom property which was nearly finished. Josh the development representative gave me details of how Harron Homes could assist me in selling my property and advised me to visit the showroom at their Rossington development. I fell in love with the show home immediately and set the buying process in motion the next day. Josh has been very helpful and supportive throughout the process and keeps me up to date with pictures of my house through the building process. He explains everything in detail and has been very patient with me as its the first time I've purchased a house on my own. There's been no pushy salesman techniques used which nowadays is rare. Just ask for Nicola!

We spoke to Nicola on the Friday and AIP was done by Sunday that’s because 1 - we were ready to buy asap but 2 - NICOLA She was genuinely brilliant, like a serious asset to Harron Homes, needs a pay rise, a few weeks off and decent bonus. I’d take her at my work if I could. As first time buyers she guided us through everything, any question we asked (and we asked plenty of them), any idea we had she was honest with what she would do and what was best for whatever it was. The house we’re buying isn’t fully built yet but it was so easy with her that honestly all we’ve had to do is choose our interiors and do the paperwork because she genuinely made us feel like she was looking after her own.
