GoogleViewed a house to rent a couple weeks ago the agent Jessica was lovely however after jumping through numerous hoops and being strung along four days before move in date they rejected the application even after passing the referencing section on my own and also then further adding a guarantor at the letting agents request. In addition they lost documents three times and I had to repeatedly send the same document at least four times to ensure my application had everything they needed. I think the fact they rejected my application four days before move in date is utterly ridiculous and unacceptable when I had been approved and everything had already been signed it is disgusting.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the outcome of your application with our Morriston lettings team.
Whilst we are unable to discuss the specifics of any individual's application in a public forum, we would like to clarify that all tenancy applications are subject to an independent referencing process carried out by a specialist third-party provider. This process is in place to protect both our landlords and prospective tenants and forms an important part of the decision-making process.
As with all applications, decisions can only be made once all required information and documentation has been received and fully assessed. Unfortunately, timelines can sometimes be affected by delays in obtaining the necessary information from the various parties involved.
We appreciate that this can be frustrating when applicants are keen to secure a property, and we always endeavour to keep all parties informed throughout the process.
We are pleased to hear your positive comments regarding Jessica, who consistently works hard to assist applicants and provide the highest level of customer service. We wish you all the best in your future property search.
Kind regards,
Laurence

TrustpilotThis company doesn't seem to care…
This company doesn't seem to care either about their prospective customers or their existing landlords.
I have an outstanding issue with their poor tenant management at a property that they have let for a number of years and their failure to recover documented damage after the tenant vacated the property.
Nobody is answering my emails.
The owner has notified his landlords that yet another staff member has left the company, they are notorious for being unable to retain staff.
I would not recommend them to anyone.

GoogleWe have worked with Anish at Hunters (Reading) to market our house for sale, and we would definitely recommend. He has taken the time to visit the property and understand what we needed and our plans, and he has been very communicative and easy to reach throughout.
Everything happened very promptly (such as photos and changes to our listing), so we have been impressed by the speed of our interactions and his responses.
Trustworthy and easy to deal with agents.

TrustpilotGutted
I was really impressed with the valuer's sales pitch and genuinely believed they would be the best firm to sell my home. The fact they had a relationship with Ryan property law also played a part, although that turned out to be a disaster, but that's a review for another day.
Experience of sales team - Georgia is so lovely and was a pleasure to work with. However, even after a week, the sole promotion strategy was pushing me to lower the price, which I eventually caved into and feel like I would have got more money had I gone with an approach suggested by a different agent.
I had over 30 viewings, which was exhausting preparing the house for. Most of these were time wasting - one definitely a pseudonym (why don't they ask for ID checks?) and at least 10 weren't actually people who were in a position to buy (not got house on market or it would turn out they'd offered elsewhere).
The buyers buyer (also buying through Hunters), was not vetted correctly or there was a big cover up. If there was a cover up, Hunters couldn't tell me, because they had such poor record keeping. I was sent evidence of some record keeping with regards to something else (hello GDPR breach!) and it was full of typos and omissions.
Sales progression experience was horrific. Thankfully they eventually replaced the person, as I could go on and on with my list of what she did that was totally unprofessional, but worst bit is she could have put my children at risk if it had been a DV situation, as she told everyone in the chain my new address and all the addresses of everyone in the chain, repeatedly. I repeatedly complained about her and they left it far too late to do anything.
Absolutely appalling and this estate agent caused so much additional stress to what was already a horrific chain. I would not recommend to anyone.

TrustpilotDreadful Experience
We booked valuation. Confirmed twice no show. She eventually came late at night & we fell for the speel.
Big mistake just full of empty promises.
No response to phone calls or emails.
17 days before first viewing.
Buyers were not vetted as we were told.
Some hadn't even got their house on the market. It was a truly horrible experience.
Finally got a offer £30,000 below asking price! THEN I had an long email telling me we should take it !
They are beyond rubbish.
They take on too many clients & cannot give you the time.
They don't even ask if appointment is convenient to you.

Googlescammers avoid this agency. On 10th March I had a viewing of a house on Halford Road, Reading with agent Anish. During the viewing of this house I noticed that the fence on the left side in the garden was damaged and missing 2 segments of the fence. I asked Anish if it would be repaired he told me it would be done that day. My next comment regarding the condition of this house was a comment regarding the ceiling in one of the rooms where there was a bulge. I asked Anish if it would be repaired he said yes it would be done. My next comment regarding the condition of the house was the corridor downstairs where the wallpaper was torn and painted over on one wall. I asked Anish if I was repairing that too he told me yes. When it was enough to sign the lease I asked Anish if all my comments regarding the condition of the house had been repaired. He replied no and brazenly denies that he did not say anything like that that something would be done. Common scammers. Now I have a problem with them because they do not want to give me back the holding deposit. That's why I've already reported the whole situation to Citizens Advice Reading who told me they have no right to keep my deposit.

Dear Rafal,
I am sorry to read your review and your feedback is important to us.
The only conversation we had which I said would be repaired was the garden fence which belongs to the neighbour and not the Landlord of the property. Just before the move in date, I reached out to the Landlord and the neighbour had confirmed they had not yet done this but would do so and did not provide a timeline. The Landlord was under the impression the fence would be fixed for the move in date but this is outside of his control as the fence is not his. With regards to the bulge in the ceiling, you asked if the roof had leaked and I checked with the Landlord who confirmed it had not leaked and the room was recently painted and I confirmed if any leaks occur in the future, the Landlord would repair this but at the time of viewing and contract signing, the ceiling was newly painted and in good condition. As for the corridor downstairs, I confirmed this is as seen and will not be repaired.
We then discussed over email about the works and you said you would not proceed with the property with the above in mind so we proceeded to find a new applicant and when we did so, you then confirmed you wanted to move into the property and insisted on doing and sign the contract but we had found a new tenant by this point.
We have not kept your holding deposit in full and refunded you over 50% of this.
If you wish to discuss anything further, please do not hesitate to contact us

GoogleHorrible. My agent instantly struck me as a sleazy salesman type. After agreeing to rent the property (from psychopathic landlords, might I add), he sent me an email saying something along the lines of "I'll be assisiting you all the way up to your move-in date". That was the last I heard from him. When I came to the agency to pick up my keys, he was at his desk pretending to not see me.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Dear Michal,
Your feedback is crucial for our improvement. You have implied that you did not have correspondence/hear from the agent you were dealing with but we have had a look through our records and have found correspondence between yourself and the agent you dealt with which include:
February 2024, Correspondence includes sending you the application form to proceed and confirming we have received a holding deposit from you
March 2024, The agent chased you to request you start your references as this was nearly a week overdue to start and you confirmed you were sorry and then proceeded to upload the documents
April 2024, The agent informed you that keys for your new property are ready to collect from our office and you relayed a time you will collect them from us at our office.
As for the comment regarding your Landlord, we have spoken with them and understand there was a breakdown of relationship during the tenancy from both sides and understand this is one of the reasons you vacated the property.
If you wish to discuss anything further, please do not hesitate to contact us

TrustpilotI had an exceptional experience working…
I had an exceptional experience working with Julie Decraene throughout my house purchase. From start to finish before passing onto the next agent for the further process of buying my house, her service was nothing short of outstanding. She made what can often be a stressful and complicated process feel smooth, straightforward, and incredibly efficient.
Julie was always professional, approachable, and highly responsive. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed promptly and clearly, which gave me a great deal of confidence and peace of mind. Her knowledge and expertise were evident at every stage, and she guided me through the process with ease, ensuring everything moved forward quickly without any unnecessary delays.
What truly stood out was how seamless she made the entire experience. The process of buying a house can be overwhelming, but Julie handled everything with such organisation and attention to detail that it felt effortless on my part. Her dedication and commitment to providing excellent service really shone through.
I am genuinely grateful for her support and would highly recommend Julie Decraene to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, and professional service. She has made a significant milestone in my life an incredibly positive and stress-free experience.

We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

TrustpilotOne of my worst experience buying a house from hunters
One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

GoogleI had recently very disappointing and stressful experiences with the estate agent Hunter while trying to buy my first home. Initially everything was fine, Mr. Anish Sukla ( who was dealing with the property) looked like very helpful and kind. I had viewing three times and I saw there were multiple tenants, I suspected and asked the agent Anish, if will be any issues by the tenants but the agent assured me that they are leaving soon and at my last viewing they property was totally vacant so I was happy to proceed. And I was told to do ID check, spent £ 144 and after completing id verification, the agent suddenly became unresponsive. My calls and emails were ignored for a long time, which was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. After a long time he came back to me and started to respond quickly, so I trusted him and went for further process. It was scheduled for property servey which I spent £680. After completing everything from my side, my solicitor contacted the seller solicitor ( which was given on MOS) but they replied they were not instructed by seller, means there was no any solicitor from seller side. Mr Anish was silence and it was to much so my solicitor directly contacted the agent but he was pretending again and told to my solicitor to wait. At last, my solicitor was informed the property was being withdrawn from the market due tenants related issues.
I was so sucked and frustrated that the Agent played with my feelings that I was first time buyer. I have spent a lot money with many parties. My time, money and emotions were not respecter so I would not recommend Hunter to anyone looking to buy a property, as my experience showed a serious lack of professionalism, transparency and reliability. Please be aware everyone with this agent 🙏🙏

TrustpilotRude, poor service - a must avoid for renters
Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

GoogleVery poor service. They rented me a house with broken furniture and the new furniture provided was of very low quality. No curtains provided even though curtains were visible on photos shown. No Microwave provided even though rented as furnished. Carpet in the room was never professionally cleaned before we moved in. Dirt kept falling from chimney inside the living room and nothing was done about it for a year even though the issue was reported a few times. Hot water in the shower was also a problem which was never fully resolved.

TrustpilotHunters Exeter are a joke!
Hunters Exeter are a joke!
My sons been waiting since the end of July for the return of deposit monies.
They completed a report which resulted in a £560.26 claim against the £4,649 deposit monies for giving the property back in a better condition when they took over the lease. This was put in dispute and my son can’t even get he’s share of the undisputed deposit monies returned which is £681.46 despite 2 out of 6 of the tenants receive theirs back.
TDS have been completely useless and Hunters have refused to help BUT they created the problem.
Hunters say TDS have the deposit monies and TDS say Hunters have the monies.
Looks like I need to involve the police!

⭐ 1/5, “Here to get you there.” Couldn’t even get me as far as a viewing.
Absolutely ridiculous experience with Hunters Reading after speaking to Alex Warzecha.
I called simply to BOOK A VIEWING. I explained I’m a university student and didn't have a guarantor available at that exact moment, but could arrange one the next day. As soon as I said that, it felt like she wanted to end the call and I was told to call back when I had one.
I specifically asked whether I needed to pass referencing before viewing. Answer: no.
So why couldn't I view the property first and provide my guarantor tomorrow if I liked it? I was told words to the effect of: “We would just know you wouldn't be able to take the property anyway since you don't have a guarantor.”
Despite me repeatedly saying I COULD GET ONE TOMORROW.
After around 6, 7 minutes discussing my guarantor, including being questioned about why I couldn't use a previous one, suddenly came the plot twist:
THE LANDLORD DOESN'T ACCEPT GUARANTORS ANYWAY.
So why had we just wasted nearly 10 minutes discussing one?
The explanation? Apparently the manager wasn't sitting next to her earlier.
Apparently arranging a simple viewing requires a two-person support team, because once the manager appeared, we finally established the fairly important detail that the landlord didn't accept guarantors.
No manager nearby = I apparently need a guarantor.
Manager appears = landlord doesn't accept guarantors.
Brilliant.
When I questioned why my time had been wasted, I was then told her time had been wasted too.
I had to point out the obvious: you're at work and being paid for those 10 minutes. I'm a student using my personal time trying to find somewhere to LIVE.
I wasn't asking for keys. I wasn't asking to skip referencing. I WAS ASKING TO LOOK AT THE PROPERTY.
“Here to get you there.”
Perhaps more accurately:
“Here to get you there… once the manager sits next to us and we figure out where ‘there’ is.”
Absolutely shocking customer service.

TrustpilotAwful customer service
I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!
