GoogleThe whole process of selling my flat has been stressful from receiving an offer until completion. Whilst a lot of this is not directly down to Miles and Barr, the communication throughout the sale has been very poor. At the very start at the process, a member of team showed the prospective buyer around my flat and left it open without even checking if I was still in the building, which is very dangerous. Throughout the process communication generally was slow, and I was the one doing most of the chasing to push the sale through which I didn't appreciate as it added unnecessary stress to the process. Furthermore, I was promised dates for the completion of my sale in October, then November then December and it finally completed at the end of January. Communication did improve and the whole service seemed to improve once I threatened to pull the flat off the market and complain to the Head Office, which obviously I did not want to do.

GoogleIn the end, a different agent found the house that we bought but everyone at Miles & Barr, especially George, did their best and it was just a matter of luck. We were impressed by communications and responsiveness.

GoogleWe had a very positive experience with Miles and Barr from inititial valuation to after sales. They valued our house well and it sold immediately. They have been easy to comminucate throughout the sales process. Becky in after sales has been particularly helpful and guided us through the sales process with ease. She has been easy to get in contact with and is always extremely helpful and professional.

Have used M & B for 7 years to manage our rental property. Increasingly poor service as the years go by, with many staff changes in property management and a willingness to abdicate rather than own a problem or issue. A recent failure to meet a legal deadline for gas safety, was met with untold reasons and justifications as to why is was not their responsibility (my poor choice of landlord contract apparently!) and the solution in an email from M & B was for me to resolve. Always opted for the fully managed service since using M & B but we really do not receive the 'fully comprehensive management service' as advertised or promised. Untold input required from the landlord on occasions, which is time consuming and effectively contradicts having a letting agent in the first place. On the plus side the rent payments are always prompt and any discrepancies dealt with quickly and efficiently. Such a shame that the property management side of the company is so inefficient and hard work to deal with at times.

Absolute joke Miles and Barr are. Letting agency lost my front door keys which I paid to have replaced. Tenant left the flat in a disgusting way yet the check out was deemed satisfactory. The sub contractor cleaner said she cleaned the flat yet upon inspection is absolutely filthy. When I raised this with the letting team I got passed from operator to operator. I firmly believe the letting agency has family members as sub contractors and sadly I parted companies with them and have a new management agent. In one word. SHOCKING.

A buyer was found within 2 days of getting on the market. Once we had found a property to buy it took far longer to reach exchange than we had anticipated but all the problems were caused by our lenders poor choice of conveyancer causing serious delays. Other than that the sale process was pretty smooth. The use of of a sales co-ordinator definitely helped keep everyone up to date and helped progress things.Emily Stickler regularly kept in touch and co-ordinated everything very well particularly towards the end when time constraints got quite hairy and tense.
