I have had an extremely upsetting and bad experience with this company. Greg in particular was really rude and obnoxious. I was and am interested in renting a property out for myself and my teenage son. I have been renting for the past 5 years. The house I live in is immaculate. I have no pets and do not smoke either. I have never ever been late with my rent. I was hoping to stay in my rental until my son finishes his education. He has 4 years left. I told Greg that I too have been a land lady for the past 30 years and that I work full time. I moved home to live where I live currently purely so that my son could go to the school I wanted for him. After viewing this property today, I called the office and advised them that I would be interested and asked what would I need to move further forward etc. I sent in my ID, my income details too but when I spoke to Greg and asked him a question that I was slightly unsure about, he abruptly told me that he felt ‘very suspicous about me!!!’ How dare he!! When I asked why he told me that he had met ‘many people like me’ and told me he thought I was looking at this property to rent it out as an Air B n B!!! Well for clarity Greg I have never had any air bnbs! Therefore on that basis he would not be proceeding with sending my details over to the home owners. I was humiliated and disgusted at his assumptions! I offered for him to get references from my current land lord but Greg had already made his mind up. I am a single parent bringing up my 14 year old son. A hard working mother that works full time and has a portfolio of properties and because I am a ‘single parent’ he has just crossed me off the list, even though my salary would be that of a couple that would be renting the house. Some of these people that work in estate agents need to stop being such jobs worths.

As a result of being totally unhappy with our previous estate agents we approached Clarkson Holden after receiving a marketing flyer. The decision to change estate agents to Clarkson Holden resulted in a property that had been on the market for 7 months with a previous competitor to being SOLD in less than a week of advertising. On first meeting Gregg we felt in good hands and he approached our situation by managing expectations, and with realistic pricing and his marketing techniques we achieved a speedy sale of our property. Throughout the sales process the wider Clarkson Holden Team have been extremely supportive, helpful and responsive. Booked a viewing to a vacant property (round the corner from their office), received the confirmation text and email, then a reminder text on the day. Turned up but no one from the agency was there. Phoned up and a lady took my details and said she would investigate. 10 minutes later (waiting outside the property), a guy phones me up and said that due to a technical error the booking didn’t show up on their end, and that unfortunately all agents are out at other viewings so no one can come to the house. Utterly ridiculous! He was not apologetic at all and said it was just one of those things. I pointed out that we had taken the time out of our day and got a bus to view the property. This guy’s attitude was so cocky and unprofessional, not offering any sort of solution. I texted him after the call asking for his name; he replied with just the office email address and then clearly blocked my number. Utterly spineless. Don’t waste your time with these cowboys. Oh, and I still got the generic “What did you think of the property you viewed?” email later the same day! RESPONSE TO REPLY FROM AGENCY: I only swore at the incompetent person on the phone at the very end before I hung up. Their attitude was antagonistic, hence why I ended up swearing. You have written “as such, your viewing was cancelled” which is utterly ludicrous. You didn’t turn up to the viewing! So what on earth are you trying to say you cancelled?! No one turned up to the viewing and the guy on the phone said all your staff were out at other properties. So please don’t try and flip it as if you made a decision not to show me this property. You have not replied to my email complaint so this will now be passed on to the Property Redress Scheme. You can try and gaslight me all you want, but you are clearly spineless and run an incompetent estate agency. Pathetic.

We had a very disappointing experience with Clarkson Holden. We were kept completely in the dark during the process and were led to believe that things were progressing positively, only to find out later that the property had been offered to someone else without any clear communication. It’s extremely frustrating and disheartening, as we were serious buyers who acted quickly and in good faith. Unfortunately, this experience has left us feeling that the team at Clarkson cannot be trusted to deal with clients transparently or fairly. Would not recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and professional estate agent.

Worked for this company six weeks, had to hand my immediate notice in and was told he was suing me for breach of contract.. I had to chase both of my wages up, I have text evidence of everything I will state here. Was told he will pay me when he was ready and not to pester as it will delay payment further.. Asked a day off for a funeral and was told no because I’d already had half a day sick and that “didn’t look good.” Came in early, worked late, had no dinner and still weren’t enough. Verbally abusive culture. Master manipulator. Avoid at all costs. Contractors aren’t paid on time or sometimes at all. Will ring you after a week telling you to reduce your home. Avoid like Covid. Rest of the reviews look fake

What an awful man Greg Holden turned out to be. Had him shouting at me on the phone today. I rang the office about 2 weeks ago needing to speak to him urgently I was told he would ring me back that day asap. Here I am still no call from him and now he is having a complete hissy fit over something he should have dealt with shouting down the phone at me. And he will not speak to me again until I pay my bill I have had it 2 days at this time it is not a priority despite what he thinks some other issues are more important than him. Why did you not give it to the solicitor she asked you for it. You would have been paid by now just sheer pig headidness from you trying to make a point by giving it to me. Such a spiteful man. Do not use Clarkson Holden the niceties are all a sham to lure you in.

I was really pleased with the service I received. I engaged Clarkson Holden after being dissatisfied with the agents whom I had engaged six months earlier. The difference in approach was stunning. With Clarkson Holden I had a lot of viewings and I was always informed about them beforehand, via text and email. When the viewers provided feedback it was always sent to me quickly.
