Fantastic service from start to finish when selling our home through Hobdays. We were fortunate to have Claire handle our sale who was AMAZING every step of the way. From the initial valuation & advice, to liasing with solicitors to get things moving along, responding to our emails extremely quickly & just generally making us feel confident and reassured along the way. We honestly couldn’t recommend Hobdays Estate Agents enough, and especially Claire, who was absolutely wonderful throughout our whole home-buying journey. Buying a home can be such a stressful and emotional process, but Claire made everything feel so much easier. She was always so friendly, approachable and genuinely caring. Whenever we had a question or needed an update, she was always there to help. What really stood out to us was how much Claire genuinely cared. She went above and beyond to keep everything moving, communicate with everyone involved and make what can be a very stressful process feel as smooth and reassuring as possible. I can't thank Claire at Hobdays, Potters Bar enough for helping me through the most difficult time of my life, having to sell and buy a house on top was made so much easier than it could have been because of her tireless energy, cheerful positivity and support. From valuing my property to selling and moving she has been incredibly responsive, full of helpful advice and knowledge. Even a week after moving she has advised me on a reputable plumber. All the team that I have met have been so helpful and lovely. I have told my old neighbour to use them and will not hesitate to recommend to others in the future.

Been renting a property from Hobdays for over 10 years. Never had an issue with any of the staff. If there is a problem at the house, no matter how big or small - its dealt with in a professional way and promptly. They keep you informed of opening times over christmas, someone always calls you back - just makes renting a pure pleasure. The contractors they use to carry out any works are also very nice. They respect your property and are really friendly.

Well Claire from Hobdays was an absolute star. From valuation to sale of my Mums flat she was excellent. Day 1 advised on how to sell Mums flat. Even how to have the flat looking and getting ready for viewings. Next easy to sort viewings, flexible with times. Updated me when needed to, replied Promptly and made it happen real quick. Do not use these estate agents, in particular the Sales Negotiator, Karen Wright. I have sold several properties over the years and she is by far the worst estate agent I have ever dealt with. I was not impressed with her negative and unenthusiastic attitude when she came to view the property, but I gave Hobdays the benefit of the doubt as I have had a working relationship with them for over 10 years. We purchased the property through them in 2014 and they have managed our tenants over the years. Karen seems incapable of picking up the phone. I have not in fact spoken to her since I dropped off the keys in February. Every time I ring to speak to her, I have to leave a message, she never calls back and then she emails a response. I have given up and I have had no contact with her at all for nearly 2 months. I am aware that the market is very challenging at the moment and I would expect to be able to pick up the phone and discuss things with my estate agent. My property is empty and the feedback from my neighbours, who have seen and heard her conducting viewings, was that she appears miserable, unenthusiastic, indifferent and her attempts to actually 'sell' the property are half-hearted. I complained about Karen and the response I got from the Director was abrupt and dismissive. I didn't even get an apology for the poor service. There are plenty of better agents in the area, go to one of those!

I had a very disappointing experience with this estate agency in Potters Bar. The staff came across as quite unfriendly and unwelcoming, which is not what you expect when walking into a professional establishment. In particular, the lady seated near the entrance seemed to have a negative attitude, especially towards foreign customers, which was unfortunately quite obvious. Regardless of how long you’ve been in business, professionalism and respect are key, and I found both lacking here. Coming from a family that has been in the estate agency business for over 35 years, I can confidently say this is not how a professional agency should operate. I won’t be using your services, and I certainly won’t be spending any money with your agency.

They are extremely slow to respond to any issue, you will constantly have to chase them, even for essentials like heating and hot water. They often behave in ways that are unlawful, i.e. they did not fix heating and hot water issues within the timeframe stated by law. They disregard severe issues like mould; instead they ask tenants to paint over it rather than discuss with their landlords the actions needed for essential property maintenance. It took them 6 days to replace a broken fridge and an entire month to find a tree surgeon to reduce a tree branch - a job that literally only took 5 minutes in the end. They insist on “inspecting” the property a few times a year but do not tell you about this before signing the contract and do not give a reasonable window of time for when to expect them. Anything you report as needing repair during that “inspection” is always ignored. They will be very quick to follow up, though, if they need something from you instead. At the end of the tenancy, they did not release our deposit within the 10-day limit as the law requires and did not keep us updated. It was only when they were threatened by being reminded how their behaviour was unlawful that they returned the deposit, without even apologising of course. Avoid them if you can. As for the response below: it is telling that they do not take any responsibility for any of the aforementioned facts. It is very convenient to look at the 'records' of the property, considering they can write whatever they want in those records and then just deny any of that happened, or make excuses for how slowly they respond to any request to begin with. To clarify, the mould was not a condensation or "lifestyle" issue, it was due to the lack of roof and (external) wall insulation.

I have been renting my house through Hobdays for 7 years. I am extremely satisfied with both the speed and quality of the service.I would like to personally highlight Nikki Millard, who responsible for my house. She interpreted all my requests to the landlord in a way that they were listened to. This is how I got a new huge terrace, new carpet on the stairs, and the fence and front door painted in a colour I liked. The landlord either paid the costs or most of them. If I move to another place, I'll have to take Nikki with me :D

I bought and sold with Hobdays 8 years apart and theres a reason I went back... they were great! I got valuations from other estate agents in Potters Bar and some promised rediculous prices to get my listing only to know it wouldn't get that price. Always professional, friendly and best of all they all are happy to help even if it's not their sale or instruction listing. Knowledgeable in the area and no pressure. Lots of viewings and numerous offers from reputable buyers. I sold and moved within 6 weeks. I Have recommended them to others that have also been happy. Thank you!! Particularly a big thank you to Claire, Karen and Gemma who were all instrumental in my original purchase and more recent sale.

I had agreed a viewing for a rental property, which was about a 30 minute drive for me. I met the agent at the property who was not very talkative or welcoming. But, i did like the property, so i decided to take it. Filled in the referencing form, paid the holding deposit, and about a week later, they told me the vendor decided to sell the property, so its no longer available for rent. Pretty annoying as they should've had better communication with the vendors and what they were planning on doing, but i guess it can happen. Ultimately, 1 hour round trip wasted. So, they suggested another property, similar location, again, 30 minute drive away. Met with the same agent, same demeanour as last time. But again, i liked the property so decided to take it. And for the second time, after about a week had gone by, they told me the vendor was selling the property so its not available for rent. This whole ordeal led to over 2 hours of wasted driving and time, as well as 2 weeks wasted whilst the agents were apparently figuring out what the vendor wanted to do with the property. If you're unsure, don't take them on!! But of course, they want their commission, they don't care if they waste other peoples time. Alongside that, I never got confirmation from Hobdays of a refund for the holding deposit, accompanied by a rude email from Samantha. If you're looking to rent, buy or sell with this agency, i would stay well clear. Their priorities are clearly to make a quick buck, and not properly vet their vendors. Don't waste your time!!
