Unfortunately cannot do a 1 star. Do not buy a property from these guys.absolute joke and a half! Had a leak from our downstairs toilet, Stewart’s plumbing came round and said they think the drains are blocked and will let Avant homes know and once they inspect and report back they will Rod the toilet. Waited about 3 weeks before I drove around the estate asking for a site manager. I found a site manager called Jason who said he would come around later in which he did and inspected the drains and said there isn’t a problem and he will contact Stewart’s plumbing and get this sorted for us. After another couple weeks no contact from them. In the meantime I have called Stewart’s plumbing who have advised they are still waiting on a response from Avant homes. I then had to make a direct complaint in order for Avant homes to contact me in which they did and I explained everything to them and they said they will get this sorted. In total of about 2 months from when we told avant home our toilet has a leak we have had no contact from neither parties. Our toilet is still not fixed. Avant homes get this sorted!!!!!!

In our dream house at last!!

We are now in our new Avant home after untold problems during the build! We were at our wits end and wanted to pull out as we were quite within our right as the build was a whole year late!!Then two months before we were due to move in we had the pleasure of meeting three people.Matt James the Site Manager: Thank you for all your help in getting us the house we expected. Nothing has ever been too much trouble.When we first met you your words were " I an a man of my word and I will get things sorted" you are a man of your word and you did!!Just watching the respect your workers have for you on the site as well as the residents is wonderful.Again Graham and myself cant thank you enough.You redeemed my faith in the company.Neal the Assistant Manager: What a great person you are, nothing was too much trouble when we has the water leak in the front room. you were at the door at 8.00 every morning to tell us which workmen were coming for the day to do the repairs and snags. They came and did what you said they were coming to do. Polite men who respected our home as did you.All this for us and always with a smile. Thank you ever so much.Caroline Jarvis Sales: You not only saved the day because as you know we were quite ready to call it a day and walk away from the house. Caroline you were in our corner sending email after email sorting things out for us. Your advice and help was invaluable. You always had an open door policy and made time for us, answered our phone calls as well as emails on your days when working or not.If only the rest of our experience was as pleasant buying our house would have been bliss.I hope we have made a forever friend in you, you are an absolute sweetheart.

Very poor site supervision, no pride in the job.

Very poor site supervision when building has resulted in much unneccessary rectification work afterwards. Problems with roads and sewers still ongoing after 4 years.The designs are good but workmanship is poor. Avant aftersales service is shocking.It is better to do the job right first time but Avant don't seem to realise that.Poor choice of sub-contractors and poor site supervision are responsible for all their issues. It would be a help if they looked after their customers properly but not the case I'm afraid.

AVOID BUYING FROM AVANT HOMES!!! THEY TELL YOU LIES AND IGNORE YOU! I WAS LEFT HOMELESS AND MESSED AROUND SO MANT TIMES IN REGARDS TO DATES FOR MOVING IN BECAUSE OF POOR COMMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT. I HAD TO CHASE CONSTANT FOR UPDATES , THEY WOULD BLAME EVERYONE BUT THEMSELF. I MOVED INTO MY HOME WITH SMASHED WARDROBES , STAINED CARPETS , NO SPARKLE CLEAN , UNPLUMBED DISHWASHER , PIPES NOT FITTED PROPERLY, VARNISH STAINS ON MY DOORS , DOORS NOT PAINTED PROPERLY, LIGHTS STILL NOT INSTALLED I HAVE PAID FOR!! THERE IS A FLAPPING NOISE COMING FROM MY ROOM WHICH HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I MOVED IN WHICH IS VERY ANNOYING GETTING WOKEN UP SEVERAL TIMES A NIGHT WHEN THERE IS A SLIGHT BUT OF WIND. THEY BLAME EVERYTHING OK STAFF ISSUES…. Useless

I'd like to be able to comment on the after sales service but unfortunately I didn't get that far.I made an appointment to view eventually (after at least 5 phone calls) only to find that 'Peter', their sales rep, couldn't be bothered to put in an appearance.If they can't be bothered turning up for a prospective customer I can only imagine what organising the snagging list would be like.

Our first home with avant

We moved into our first home in September 2020 and despite our completion month being delayed due to the current pandemic, the sales team were amazing. They provided us with regular updates and reassurance.Our experience with avant has been fab! I would highly recommend Avant homes, they are built to a high standards and the spec is unreal. I’m still finding little appliances I didn’t know we had.

Stay clear

Avant homes were ok when we first moved 2 and a half years ago. So since the take over customer services are worst than useless They don’t respond to emails and when you do get them it’s a I will call you back I. 10 mins as I need tm check something and I’m still waiting h as usual for the call 3 weeks later . I have a rusty towel rail in main bathroom that I have complained about to 18 months only to be told , after the two year warranty is up ,, that’s it’s moisture damage !!!! It’s a towel rail in a bathroom . This is just one issue they are trying to get out of . Stay clear of a company that has changed and the customer is no longer a priority but profits obviously are ,

There have been several issues with the…

There have been several issues with the house in which they have fixed most. I have noticed the more expensive replacements they have been resistant to.2 months after the snagging period (2 years) has ended (1 month of which I was in hospital) I noticed a new issue with the exterior building work. Who knows when this issue happened. Avant have refused to look into it when it is clearly a quality building issue. The metal work that covers the join between the roof and wall has come off on its own. The mono block work is now exposed.

I last posted to this site on 15 March 2023 sharing my views and experiences to that point. Well, I have now made the move and have been living in my new home for one week!Although Jane moved on to another site in March, her replacement James has continued the excellent service with communication being very good, regular and friendly.I had heard of a very negative experience at a nearby Avant development which prompted me to commission a professional snagging company but they found my home to be of a high standard with very few issues to be investigated.This hasn't surprised me having met Steve, the site manager, who has been most accommodating, keeping me informed of all impending works that will impact me and my home. When he says he will do something, he does it.The moving in experience has in large part been very relaxed, to which I can only thank and credit Avant for contributing to.Keep up the good work and you will have many more happy and satisfied customers.

Great pre and after sales service

Cannot fault Avant Homes at all. From the first appointment to today they have been nothing but amazing. From first seeing the house to completion was dead on 3 months, which was brilliant and we took advantage of the my move package which means they help us sell our house.As with anything, we have had a few minor snags, and I cannot stress minor enough, however they have been sorted straight away by James and the site team.Would thoroughly recommend buying an Avant home, they do not cut corners and the quality of the finish is brilliant. We are very happy on our new home 🏡

I honestly can't recommend Avant homes enough .they were absolutely brilliant .we have just moved into our lovely new home .we were let down by a buyer and we thought we were going to lose this lovely house however Avant kept it for us and when we found another buyer they also kept it till we were able to move in .which saved us a great deal of stress ,so many thanks to Avant homes and a lovely lady called Kath Reading who has now retired ,so many thanks to each and every one in volved .I can thoroughly recommend them at Avant homes

Overall, the avant process from securing the property, to moving in, to sorting all the snags has been generally good. The process with the home co ordinator was not a great exchange but the service from 2 individuals after this is whats saved this review to be honestBeth in the sales office was a great help and helped smooth things over if there was any bumps in the beginningBut since moving in, we have had outstanding service from Adam Hodgson, from home demo even until now. He has gone above and beyond for us, even taking calls at 11pm at night when the generator we didnt know we was on kept tripping which resulted in loss of power. He phoned the relevant people to try and sort it for us. Nearly all of our snags have been sorted, the only one being solely waiting for the outsourced kitchen company to fix. I know that if i need something sorted, he will just get on it right away and get it sorted. I feel you dont get anywhere with people on the phone I am really happy with how things are ending/being sorted, having started off pretty rocky.

Great after sales service

Received a great example of after sales service today made possible by Julie (the after sales representative at Wellington Park Sunderland). Due to an oversight the lawn of our very large garden was not laid at the time of moving in, but after a massive effort by Julie arranging Landscapers etc. it was laid today and looks amazing. I can't thank all concerned enough for their efforts and its nice to know that Avant care even after the keys are handed over.

Avant just don't keep their word.

First of all, I want to say that we have encountered no problems with the quality of the house. The build itself has been fine. We are in a 5 bedroomed Chesham.However, there have been ongoing issues regarding our plot, with works required now for 12 whole months. Time and time again, we have been assured that the works are going to happen, we have even been given dates by various people in customer services, and by the site team. And yet, time and time again, the works have not happened. I have an extensive email trail, where the customer services team commit to making things happen, but invariably, they don't happen. The amount of time that these endless communications have taken over the past 12 months is absolutely ridiculous, and as I say, we have been let down time and time again.Avant - please stay true to your word - you need to be better organised.
