I bought a Countryside house in Chester

I bought a Countryside house in Cheshire. It was my first house that I have ever bought so the reassurance and the way that Annabel guided me through the process was great. The design of the house was lovely and I visited a few different builders before I chose this one. After I moved in Paul and Chris the Site Managers were there so sort out any snags I needed and even helped me with my dog house! I would definitely buy from Countryside again

Fleecehold / Leaseholders Beware

Properties are nice, quality seems good from my experience. However- Countryside have contributed to me being stuck in a Leasehold trap... escallating costs (service charges, maintenance charges, ground rent etc). The Ground Rent is also sold with an erroneous 'doubling every 15 years' clause... which can only be justified by greed. Many 'freeholds' on my estate- are also trapped as Fleeceholds... ie restrictive covenants placed onto their properties. Please be ware of Countrysides 'small print'- the sales agents will play down the above (as 'small maintenance charges') but they rapidly escalate and you will regret buying.

We are absolutely in love!

We are absolutely in love with our a First Home!!! Countryside were extremely helpful from start to finish. Both Lisa’s at Wren Green were fantastic ladies and made our lives so much easier whilst trying to sort everything. The quality of the home is amazing. Lots of people have commented on the design of the house and how well everything was done. Every niggle (although very few!) were sorted within a week of us moving in, if not already beforehand. Would definitely recommend to anyone who asks and we have already thought about which of the bigger houses we would like next!

Wow....Wren Green Personnel are the Best

Amazing!! From Lisa and her colleagues to the guys on site, our experience of the team at Wren Green has been fantastic. Anyone whose ever moved house will know the associated ups and downs but we can honestly say that it was seamless from viewing our house at short notice to completion within 4 weeks. Nothing was too much trouble for Lisa, she has been both professional and approachable at all times, going out of her way to help us. We must also mention Tom and Stuart who really did pull out all the stops when our removal company couldn’t get our sofa into the lounge, they came round and within 10 minutes it was in situ, I’m sure there aren’t many development sites that offer that kind of customer care!!Thank you guys your fantastic

Couldn’t ask for a better process of…

Couldn’t ask for a better process of buying my house from countyside at Wren green. Angie and Lisa were so lovely and made the whole thing simple and enjoyable. As a first time buyer I was worried about the whole process and after previous chats with other ‘over pushy’ sales advisors from other building company’s i didn’t have much hope but these ladies were amazing! I would 100% recommend and would definitely buy another house with them in the future!

This is my first new build home and I couldn’t be happier. From my first contact with the Abbotsfield site, Angie was friendly, courteous and very informative, even though the process of selling my own home was a bit of a nightmare. Katherine in Sales Progression contacted me on a regular basis to make sure everything was alright. As one of the early ones to move in on this site, Rachel was there to make sure I understood all the paperwork and what happened next. Any snags have been completed by friendly and cooperative workman, who still say hello when they see me. I have read the reviews about other sites, but can only say that I can not fault the staff at Abbotsfield. My experience with Countryside has only been positive and I would recommend them to family and friends.

Annabel Collins and Tara Harrison are a great sales team at Wilson Chase. Annabel showed and explained in details of the house I wanted. Have you forgot about us ??? Where is the site management team, why are we all left with outstanding snags, blocked trains, dead trees, DO NOT BUY homes from the countryside cowboys, you are tricked into purchasing a new home with lots of added extras and then forgot about when it all goes wrong, the countryside staff that attend to fix problems are unhappy and bad mouth the company for the way they are treated.

Great Customer Service

Great Customer Service! Jesse Moffat at Abington place, Northampton has been very supportive, efficient and informative. We loved a 4 bed house at Abington place but didn’t reserve it in the end because of financial reasons. It was everything we wanted. Hopefully, we will buy one in the future. Jesse was very patient throughout and was very honest. I would definitely recommend countrywide properties for the customer service provided. Thank you Jesse :)

The Lino on a new build property was…

The Lino on a new build property was put down before the screed had a chance to go off. That was 7 years ago. In the last year it’s begun to crumble and is uneven. Louise from countryside has been my contact she has been very helpful in liaising with contract manager regarding getting made good from free. She is in the process of organising contractors to put down new screed floor and Lino. Can’t comment on quality of work until complete. Since writing this review the experience of dealing with this company has been a difficult one. The above review was true at the time but once the contractors were arranged that's when the problems started. They damaged the new floor while putting the appliances back. The man they sent that was employed directly by them was abusive and rude. They managed to damage the plinth's and cupboard doors, he damaged personal belongings. The list of problems is endless, that was weeks and weeks ago, since then I have been met with excuses and delays to put right all the things put wrong. And my only contact at Countryside has stopped answering the phone to me and doesn't read WhatsApp messages. My intention is to go to Vistry group their parent company and my advise is to any who has problems is to do the same. I have noticed there is a lot of negative feedback regarding Countryside

The process of buying our new Countryside home has been so much better than we could have expected! They provided a part-ex service on our old property, meaning we didn’t have to worry about chains breaking down and the house falling through (which had already happened once before) We have purchased a house on the Charlton Gardens development in Apley, Telford and the sales team were amazing, especially Emily Buttery. I cannot sing her praises enough, she was informative, honest and did everything she could to get our completion across the line! She was always in contact with progression, site managers and the solicitors to ensure everything was on course. She even came in on her day off to hand the keys over on completion, when she really didn’t have to! We’re really excited to move into our new property and can’t recommend countryside enough!

House fine, grounds maintenance awful

We have no complaints about the house. A few glitches readily fixed but the maintenance of the communal area has been appalling. Trees have died for lack of watering, the "wild flower grass land" is a mass of weeds, now all gone to seed and the shrub areas have all died or are covered by weeds. The promised maintenance has not happened. Apparently Smarden is not the only development with these problems. The impression is that Countryside Properties can't wait to be rid of any responsibility.

18 months in... the house is a mess and there's no end in site.

We've been in our property from Countryside since April of last year. We still have over 10 items on our 7 day snagging list that have yet to been sorted. I have a shower in pieces and live in a family of four with one shower. been like this for over a month and it's not getting sorted until September.. we will be 3 months with only one shower.I have a garden that floods and is useless to me, it's been that way for over 18 months with out being sorted. It have a long list of issues, the most recent one is this.. I have complained, formally. They are now 3 days late in their response. Don't feel protected by any of the bodies countryside sign up to, they simply ignore the guidelines.I see that many people are happy with their houses and it seems an issue being felt only by people on the Lawrence Fold Development in Clay Cross. if you are considering buy from these guys, when you come visit Clay Cross... here is my mobile number, 07883 781 910. feel free to ring me or send my a text, so I can show you what you can expect from your investment of hundreds of thousands of pounds. Honestly, DO NOT risk your mortage with these guys, Clay Cross is a great place, but and there are lots of houses being built.Graeme Turner
