We recently had to move, and we found a property listed under Allen and Harris. We had a very tight schedule, as we had to move into the new property on very short notice, and there was a lot that had to be completed. We had Sulayman helping us get everything in order. I have to admit, I thought it would fall through with all the issues we were facing. But he was nothing short of supernatural in getting it all sorted and making sure we moved in within the requested time, without any issues. A big thank you for all your help!

From the outset Allen & Harris (Didcot)have been brilliant, especially Ken, who has been my main contact throughout. As a 1st time buyer I wasn't sure about the whole buying process but needn't have worried because their professional and personal conduct has been exemplary. They have been with me all the way and I am just the buyer! I am due to complete very soon which is very exciting and hoping this will be my forever home but if I decide to move on in the future I know what agents I will be choosing. Just to be clear - this is a review from someone who is not a customer of Allen & Harris, but someone who has been put in an awkward position by a landlord who is extremely keen to get the property rented again and arrange viewings as soon as possible. Neither her or Allen and Harris have had any consideration for us as tenants still paying the rent. Firstly, they sent S., who was meant to take some pictures. He went on to make rude remarks about the state of the property, interfere with our belongings and kept asking questions about our furniture and the fridge which also belongs to us. He also asked some intrusive unwelcome questions. He seemed to expect us to make the property spotless which is not possible for people working 60+ hours a week and dealing with renovating the new property. We had security concerns regarding having strangers at the property. Allen and Harris refused to provide any reassurance, even their manager was not understanding at all and plainly rude. He also called me at 9am even though it was made clear to them that I work night shifts - luckily I predicted that and put my phone on “do not disturb” and didn’t get woken up. Finally, on the viewing day - E. arrived late which led to an awkward moment when I had to turn away the viewers as the agent was late. Then, they let in more than one person at the time even though we didn’t agree to having several people at the same time - the agreement was to have one person at the time. Furthermore, she didn’t pick up on obvious red flags with some of the viewers and she just carried on with the viewings. Finally, due to the lateness, the viewings overran past the agreed time window. I would not recommend Allen & Harris as estate agents as they did not respect us as tenants and kept giving incorrect information to people viewing the property. I also feel for the people working there, as their manager seems to be a really unpleasant person to deal with.

Today a young lady who works at the Didcot office did something that was very thoughtful and very kind. My grandson has autism and has become obsessed with the A&H sign. He even wants Father Christmas to get him one for Christmas. My daughter in law had been taking him for a walk when they stopped to talk about one. The gentleman who lived there saw them and she explained what they were doing. He then, very kindly, contacted the office. The young lady arranged for a poster and some cards with the logo on to be given to him. This simple act of kindness has made a very special lad very happy. She should be commended for her kindness and empathy towards someone who, sadly, does not always get that from the public. Please can her action be noted.
