From the moment we decided to relocate to our new address in Okehampton from the Midlands we were looked after fantastically well by all the staff at GSS, especially Josie and Keri. The service was certainly very attentive with no issues or problems regarding the process and transition at all. Our customer enquiries were always answered promptly and accurately. We always felt confident in the process of moving with the staff at GSS sorting matters. Whilst it was always a professional and smooth transaction, we always felt there was an added bonus of the personal touch always. Disappointing Experience with Poor Service and Communication We used Godfrey Short & Squire in Okehampton and would NOT recommend their services. I had a consistently frustrating experience due to their lack of communication, unprofessionalism, and unfulfilled promises. It seemed like I was the one doing all the follow-ups, constantly chasing for updates and explanations that should have been proactively provided. They also failed to meet several key deadlines they had promised, which lead us to sorting things ourselves or having to put up with crumbling back garden walls which were unsafe. When arriving at the property there were multiple things that shocked us like the crumbling walls in garden, broken mouldy shed, jam and marks up doors, whole house had so much dust build up & cobwebs in it like no one had been there for months. We have to do a big deep clean before even moving in which was dreadful. When leaving the property we were told we needed to clean it more! Considering what state we had the property at the start, it was immaculate when leaving after we had cleaned. All in all our experience wasn't good at all and felt as though our written and verbal concerns weren’t solved or looked into during our two years. Our first conversations with the company were great until we signed contract and then it went downhill. For anyone considering using this agency, I suggest looking elsewhere.

I was looking to relocate to the Okehampton area with my partner, contacted GSS and I was put on the mailing list. We saw the property we wanted to rent the process was easy and nothing was too much trouble for the letting team. Due to my location I didn’t see the house but I was offered multiple times which was nice. We have finally picked up the keys and have a moving date. The team were fabulous they communicated through out the process and always happy to answer the umpteen questions I had. Really excited to be moving and working with a great letting agent.

We chose GSS to market our property back in May 2023 and finally moved in July 2024. GSS could not have been better - from the initial listing right through a very difficult sale with losing a buyer at the last minute (the day we were due to exchange) and incalculatable levels of stress, GSS did everything they could to progress the sale and keep me from a complete nervous breakdown. Everyone was brilliant but a special mention for Richard Thomas who guided and supported me through the whole process.
