GoogleWe were the buyers (not the seller’s clients), but honestly Samantha was fantastic throughout the whole process. She kept us in the loop more than our mortgage adviser + solicitors, always making sure we understood the next steps and chasing the right people to keep things moving.
We put our offer in mid June and got the keys mid August - just a two-month turnaround. Admittedly, we benefitted from a no-chain situation, but the process felt super smooth thanks to Samantha’s support.
If we ever come to sell, we’d absolutely want Samantha to take the lead. Highly recommended.

Everything that can go wrong with a chain did go wrong for us but Clare, Sam, and the team saved our sale over and over again and got us all moved in time.

GoogleWe sold our first property with Phillips George and I would recommend them to everyone looking to sell or purchase. Aaron and Clare as well as the wider team supported us throughout. Although the branch was not near our home or in our local area, communication was excellent all the way. We had offers after a few weeks and we were really pleased with the negotiations to accept an offer both parties were happy with. We had problems with solicitors however not one issue with Phillips George. Clare pushed and overcame any issues we had, even when it was not her problem to resolve, taking full ownership and ensuring completion was successful. Googlehad a deeply disappointing and distressing experience with Philips George Wigston.
After viewing a property, I submitted an offer which was formally accepted. I received written confirmation via email, completed most of the paperwork, and began progressing with the purchase in good faith. Throughout this process, I acted promptly and professionally and investing significant time to ensure everything moved forward smoothly.
Without warning, I was later informed that I had supposedly withdrawn my offer. This is categorically untrue, I never withdrew. Despite providing no evidence of this alleged withdrawal, the property was sold to another buyer.
This behaviour is not only misleading but also highly unprofessional. It caused me unnecessary stress & wasted my time.
An estate agent has a duty of honesty and transparency, yet in my case I felt misled and unfairly treated. I would strongly advise others to exercise extreme caution before dealing with this agency.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I’ve had a look at the circumstances around your offer.
You submitted an offer for the property in question on the 12th of August which was accepted in principle. It was made clear by phone and in writing to you by email, also on the 12th, that the property would not be removed from the market, or any upcoming viewings cancelled until you had supplied information necessary to qualify your offer. This is standard practice for any professional agent, as it ensures vendors do not miss out on valuable marketing time should you be unable to proceed.
As of the 19th of August, we had still to receive any of the requested information from you. You spoke to my colleague by phone that day, when you were informed that there were other offers on the property. It was again confirmed in writing by my colleague to you that while the vendor had accepted your offer in principle, they would not cancel upcoming viewings or take the property off the market until we received all documentation to qualify your offer. My colleague suggested you send the documentation asap and confirmed that in the event of both parties submitting their documentation at the same time, the final decision would be made by the vendor.
We then heard nothing from you until the 28th of August, 16 days after being first asked to provide your qualifying information, when you emailed to say you were still waiting to complete your source of funds. My colleague then informed you that the other offer had been qualified, information received and formally accepted by the vendor.
While I understand it is frustrating to miss out on a property, I’m sure you would agree it is unreasonable to expect a vendor to remove a property from the market indefinitely until such time as a potential buyer may or may not have their finances in order. Our vendors appreciate and insist on this being done to avoid wasting their time. Any agent that does not qualify offers as a matter of course is not doing their job properly. There was no lack of transparency or lack of professionalism on the part of Phillips George. The requirements were made clear to you from the start and at no stage did we receive any of the information needed to progress the sale. This alone was the reason your purchase did not progress.
We would advise any buyer to ensure that they have prepared their finances in advance of viewing properties so that they don’t miss out. An independent financial advisor will be able to help find the best mortgage deals available. Having a mortgage agreement in principle ready, together with clear deposit details will also help.

We were kept well informed on any viewings and always received feedback. Once the sale was going through they advised us as to what stage of the process we were at and if we needed to do anything. All calls, emails and messages were always promptly dealt with by Clare, Sam and the team.

GoogleWe need to open this review by stating that Phillips George were NOT ‘our’ estate agent, we bought a property via them and this was the basis of our relationship. From the very first contact, the team at Wigston were outstanding; the first viewing with Dan was perfectly executed and we fell in love with house straight away! The second viewing (the following day!) was exactly the same, professionally escorted by the amazing Sam, who was honest, straightforward and a genuine pleasure to engage with. Throughout the entire purchase process, Sam called every week (by comparison, the estate agent we paid thousands to, called twice during the whole process…) to update us as to the progress of the transaction or simply to check in to see how we were. At the final hurdle, Clare and Sam pulled out all the stops and pushed us over the line to completion. Being first time landlords and moving out of the UK, we needed someone we could rely on to put the property on the rental market, to vet the prospective tenants & to provide ongoing management.

GoogleMy wife and sister-in-law have let a house through Phillips George for several years and always been very pleased with the service they've provided, so when my sister and I came to selling my late mum's house, we knew we could trust them to do a good job.
Due to two time-wasting non-"buyers" and the eventual (contrastingly very nice) purchaser needing a rather complicated and time consuming loan, after we put it on the market early in January 2022, the sale only finally went through in mid-November.
Some agents would have made a crisis out of such a drawn out process, but in spite of us (ie, me...) getting quite, er, 'excited' at times, nothing seemed to phase Clare and her team.
In hindsight, they made it all seem very straightforward and we would have no hesitation in using them again.
We certainly recommend that you use them too.

GoogleDespite booking the viewing in advance, I received no prior confirmation via call, text, or email. On the day of the viewing, I was only given 30 minutes' notice. This is unreasonable and does not align with professional industry standards.
When I called to rearrange the time, the individual who answered the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. As someone who manages high blood pressure, this stressful and aggressive interaction had a direct negative impact on my health.

Hi Imtiaz, thanks for your review. We send out email confirmations for viewings that contain directions to properties. We also send text reminders about an hour before the viewing starts. You called the office when you were already running late. You then called back to say you still couldn't find the property. Despite being considerably late for a limited time slot, Samantha still managed to direct you to the property and get you in to see it. She also made it clear that as you were late, you would have less time available for the viewing to allow for those people after you who were on time. You then called the office on a subsequent day and repeatedly swore at another colleague. I understand that despite all best efforts, sometimes lateness happens. I also understand that you well have been frustrated at the reduced time to view the property. However, neither of these are the fault of Phillips George. There is no justification to direct foul language to members of staff who are simply trying to help. Good luck in your search.
