DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENT. On the 18.10.2018 I was appointed to see an apartment at 41 Mill West, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 3JH. (I hope the landlord is reading this)We agreed a time of 16:45 but due to traffic my sat nav advised I would be eleven minutes late. I called the office at 16:25 and after a few minutes of waiting for somebody to answer the telephone I was greeted. I advised the lady I was running late by eleven minutes and was told the agent showing me around cannot wait for me because she finishes at 5pm. I asked why would it be booked with only 15 minutes to spare for viewing and the reply I received from a manager at hunters was “you only get five minutes to view the property. The manager I had the displeasure of conversing with was named Nicola Thompson. She is rude, cocky and full of self importance with no regard for customer service or a potential tennents interest or the landlord of the property who contributes to her salary. I feel I had a lucky escape. I hope her superiors read this as well as the landlord who owns the property I was going to view. She needs to enroll in a customer service role and soon, personally I’d fire her but unfortunately this is what happens when you allow the inexperienced and possibly inadequate into a junior management role. I will post on every review site I can because of this women’s attitude with the hope her bosses react and teach her how to behave towards potential and existing customers.

I can't complain about these letting agents as I signed an agreement not too so that we could get some of our deposit back...

I can't tell you about my experience with a recent let as the only way I could get our deposit back was to agree not to complain about any aspect of the tenancy or the process of charges negotiation. I can tell you to be very careful about using this letting agent. They issue a notice to quit towards the end of each assured short hold tenancy rather than let the tenancy run-on so that they can raise the rent, knowing you are in situ and charge new fees for the tenancy agreement. Scrutinise your inventory and the check-out report in detail. Do not suggest you have any cause for complaint.

Nicole Wood, Director at the Filey branch of Hunters, has provided a superb and professional sales service to us. Her initial valuation of the property proved to be very accurate and she clearly has a very good understanding and grasp of the local market. Our property is a high value country residence so we wanted to ensure the agents marketing it could proactively target the type of client who would be interested. Nicole's strategy proved to be highly effective and within a few weeks we had two sets of potential buyers seriously interested. She filtered out others who may have been interested but were not likely to be buyers. She took a portfolio of photographs for the sales materials and put a number of hours into filtering and selecting with us the best sets for both brochure and Rightmove. We were impressed with the way in which she differentiated between these and the sensitivity of presentation. Our buyers have remarked on the quality of these pictures and effective property description. Interestingly, like many experienced buyers these days they had unearthed photos on the internet from previous sales of our property and remarked that they would not have been attracted to the house by looking at these. Nicole worked tirelessly to keep our buyers informed and updated during the crucial period prior to exchange of contract. She responded proactively to our enquiries and made herself available at short notice. One of the areas of her activity we were particularly impressed by was the way she engaged with the agents for the property we are purchasing. We had not expected Hunters to provide such a good liaison service. Overall, we would highly recommend Hunters, assuming all their staff and branches operate to the same high standards as at Filey.

Hunters came quickly to look at my bungalow I wanted to sell, we discussed how much it was actually worth and I followed their recommendation for the price to market it at. They were spot on, they got me a buyer within a week. They then had 1 person dedicated to follow up the conveyancing process and discuss between myself, the buyer and both solicitors. I was aware at the whole time of the progress, giving me peace of mind. I have spoken to a few local estate agents and they certainly are the best in the Filey area!

Me and my partner recently bought our house from Hunters. Samantha dealt with us from the start and we were given fantastic service, from the first meeting to the final phone call she was extremely helpful and professional and she always had a smile on her face and a happy attitude. My partner even requested Samantha to swap with another colleague that was supposed to be showing us round because my partner felt so at ease around her and comfortable! The sale went smoothly and we were updated with everything along the way. If we ever need to buy a house again we will definitely be going to hunters!

We had so many issues

We had so many issues in our rented property and they never came and sorted them due to this we moved out. We had left our house in a very clean state and only the problems we had when we moved in had been left they tried to take our full bond off us and more. They are horrific and I wouldn’t recommend using them and I certainly won’t be ever again.
