GoogleI did my research when looking for an agent to market our home so our decision to use Ashley Leahy wasn’t based solely on price. Initial viewings were positive, we had an offer in a few days, but the buyers could not proceed. A second offer was received some weeks later but again, the buyers couldn’t go ahead as their mortgage offer had lapsed. I had a meeting with Richard about the lack of communication with him and Christian about feedback on viewings etc and said that we were looking to change agents. We decided to stick with them, had another couple of viewings and a successful offer. After instructing solicitors, we found out 2 weeks later that the buyers had pulled out. I’m aware that both Christian and Rich worked hard to get viewings and offers for is so my review isn’t about their efforts in that regard. I know that agents are very much at the mercy of buyer’s whims and circumstances, but my main issue with this company is the lack of communication in general . When the office phoned to tell me that our last buyers had pulled out, she said that she would get Rich to give me a call, one week later and no call. I then sent a message saying that I was terminating our contract with immediate effect, I didn’t even get so much as a courtesy call from anyone. They may be busy but customer service comes first in my book, and unfortunately in my experience, Ashley Leahy fell short in this regard. I’ve seen the only other negative Google review get a response from the company which came across as quite defensive, so I’m hoping that this review is taken in the spirit that is intended, which is constructive criticism.

GoogleWould highly recommend Ashley Leahy our property was marketed well and sold the first day over the asking price. We had a particularly difficult chain and Aimee went above and beyond to push the sell through. The communication throughout was fantastic. I would have not got through it without Aimee !!!

House was put on the market and within a day the house was sold with full asking price, Ashley then negotiated on another property for us. The sale and purchase was then passed over to Georgina who completed the process with regular updates and understanding on the pressures and stress it brings. GoogleAshley Leigh sold my property when another local company failed to do so. The service & experience was far superior. The pictures & drone shots were of excellent quality. All viewings were accompanied by them at my convenience - as I’m retired. Once sold they were highly skilled in getting sale to completion. They dealt with my solicitor & others as I was in a chain of 4. I’m sure because of this chain I had one of their most taxing sales to get to completion. It was no easy task. All the team were professional & highly efficient, I thank them dearly for this as I’m now where I want to be. They deserve every one of 5 stars.

Horrendous experience. We signed up with Ashley Leahy Real Estate in March 2024. They were supposed to start the sale ar Easter but never did. We had to push them into getting things started. We had to ask quite a few times for them to put the sale board up. They brought a couple of groups and we got an offer on 11th April. Ashley Leahys told us the buyers were ‘cashed up, in a rental, after selling their house, ready to buy and wanted a quick sale’. Then on 23rd April, 2 weeks later the buyer came to our home and told me he needed to ‘dig his payslips out and try to get a mortgage’. Then Ashley Leahys said he had a 50% deposit, so getting a mortgage was no issue (this is the time we got the MOS). Then when nothing happened (mid June), we found out they now had a ‘sizeable chunk’ as a deposit, so Ashley Leahys said. They denied all the different lies every time the story changed. Then after that Ashley Leahys said they had a ‘deposit’, which to be honest, could be anything? Then Ashley Leahys told me the buyers were going for a high risk lender for their mortgage (they even told me who the lender was, at that stage). At no stage did they communicate things to us. We always had to hassle them to get any info. They even took our house off the market without asking us. They then told me what they meant by ‘cashed up’ was that they were cashed up with a deposit (they actually wrote that in an email). If someone is ‘cashed up’, it clearly means they have the cash to proceed but apparently not with these guys. The manager then started ranting at me, over the phone and later apologised over an email, when I reported it to the owner (who was NEVER around). We ended up dismissing them at that point but they refused to release us from the contract until its legal expiry (15th July). As of today (8th July), we still havent arrived at the finance stage of the house sale - 3 months later (first base). Always get offers in writing guys, especially if you deal with this company and be prepared for utter chaos.

GoogleWe found Ashley great at pricing and finding a buyer but im afraid thats where is ended ! We didn't hear anything from the after sales team at all, couldnt tell you who they were! I am pretty sure we were overlooked !it did feel at times he gave more information to our buyers than us forgetting who was actlly paying him!!!on one e mail he said he had another 180 houses on his books ! Not our problem if you have over stretched yourself we only wanted ours to go through, it was stresful and hard work as we seemed to do all the phoning and chasing soliciters ourselves! Am pretty sure thats one of the reasons we pay an estate agent !!It would have been nice to feel we had some support instead of feeling we were just a problem...would not use again...NegativeValue
Hi Belinda Many thanks for your review - although I must say that it does surprise me as it does not reflect the many hours and large number of messages and communication that I had with your husband during the transaction - perhaps you were not aware of this?? Your move was held up by the chain, both above and below us and we had to rely on information passed to us by the solicitors and other estate agents in the chain. Your move was at one of the busiest times ever seen in property sales and ALL transactions during this time have taken much longer than we all would have liked. The other inconsistency is that your buyer, who sold through another agent went out of his way to thank me for all of the hard work that I put in to get it over the line....... It is also worth mentioning that you tried to sell your property last year for many months with a different company, without success. I found you a buyer within a couple of weeks. I always welcome reviews, providing that they are fair and balanced. Ashley

GoogleSold my house through Ashley Leahy Estate Agents. Photos and listings were all professional. Having legal issues with the deeds meant an extremely stressful sale but Aimee was absolutely brilliant, constantly chasing and extremely proactive. They definitely earnt their commission!

GoogleKeep well away, very unprofessional, took two offers on one flat on the same day at the sellers asking price, then tried to set up a blind sealed bid playing one of against the other. Why would you take two bids at the same price? I know to make more money, that is of course if there was a second offer. Very strange that the person who showed my daughter around the flat forgot to say that there was another viewing 2 hours later! Very funny that when he did say that two other people had viewed it three days before.

This is a professional way of conducting business. Secondly - we work on a fixed fee basis - and your accusation of "making more money" is, quite frankly incorrect and offensive. We are a professional company who always treat people fairly and with respect. Sadly, in a heated market with limited supply, there are occasions when people miss out on properties because they are outbid. Your daughter was given an opportunity to make a "best and final bid" - just the same as the other party were. Your daughter chose not to increase her offer to the level that the other party did. I always welcome reviews - providing that they are both true - and fair. Your accusations are neither I'm afraid.
