GoogleI would love to give an honest opinion, but frightened of the response from the owner. Danielle was brilliant from the start unfortunately she wasn't there to see the sale through. Unfortunately my buyer pulled out which isn't uncommon in these times..I wanted it back on market to be then told that they don't have the staff to cover the area to do viewings and wanted the property and to be reduced by over 75 thousand pounds..so no longer wanted to sell the property. I understand the market has changed since i first signed up with them ,Never in my time of selling properties have I ever come across this ..May I suggest more staff is needed , call back when agreed too would be most helpful.
The team is brilliant and polite just a shame that the director dose not show the same comment his team dose.

Hello Sharon, I am the company director and until just now we have never spoken during your time on the market with us. You have spoken to my sales manager at length in Danielle's absence whilst she is on maternity leave. Danielle lives in the St Austell area as such in recent years we have been happy to extend our usual Newquay patch to include the St Austell post codes. However, now Danielle is on maternity leave we have made a recent commercial decision to revert to only servicing our usual Newquay patch. I am sorry that you to have taken exception to this. However, as you are now out of contract you are free to list your home with a St Austell specialist which owing to the reasons above, we no longer are. I am not sure why this deserves a one-star review, particularly as you have stated in your review and to me just now on the phone that you have received excellent service from us to this point, but everyone is entitled to their opinion which I respect even if on this occasion it differs with mine. GoogleUnhelpful when purchasing - couldn’t provide a key for an electrician we had organised, but managed to obtain one for their own recommended electrician. Told me they had contacted McCarthy and Stone to organise a Manager to meet my electrician to let him in to Windsor Court. Sadly this wasn’t possible as Windsor Court is owned by First Port and not McCarthy and Stone now. It was a stressful purchase, made even harder by Newquay Property Centre. If you’re a small time buyer, you’ll get little help but if you are selling a massive property I’m sure they will bend over backwards. Deeply depressing experience.

NONSENSE…! I'm sorry Tracy, but your narrative of what happened isn’t correct. Frankly I find it offensive that you implied that we have lied, and I find it quite odd that your review has a suggestive undercurrent of some sort of conspiracy. We did not lie, there is no conspiracy, and we are always helpful/motivated to assist all sales regardless of value to completion, otherwise we wouldn’t get paid!
It's a sad world where anyone can say anything without consideration of the impact or without need to fact check, but at least this gives me the opportunity to correct you and hopefully provide a helpful insight to anyone else reading this.
McCarthy Stone are one the biggest retirement homes developer in the UK, having built hundreds of developments throughout the UK. McCarthy Stone retain the freehold to many of their developments, but also on occasion sell the freehold of certain developments on. My colleague who recently joined our team did contact McCarthy Stone, not knowing they were no longer the freeholder, but it made no difference to the outcome, because at the same time he also emailed the house manager of the development.
We couldn’t provide a key for two reasons; because we did not hold one for this particular property, and you googled your electrician and appointed them without any knowledge of them whatsoever. We had never heard of them either, so were not willing to provide unrestricted unaccompanied access.
Therefore, we told you we would contact the electrician to arrange access on your preferred date. However, we also told you before this date that despite several attempts to contact your electrician he had not responded. Despite this your electrician turned up and was angry no one was there to let him in. Ordinarily this wouldn’t have been an issue as there is a full-time house manager, however, currently the house manager is managing two developments, so they are splitting their time between the two and were not onsite for your electricians visit even though they had been emailed beforehand. This was completely out of our control.
You then called me upset about this. I listened to your needs and immediately helped. I suggested we use an alternative electrician for two reasons. Our lettings team enjoy close relationships with several known trusted electricians. As such they had one available quickly. This seemed logical as you wanted a quick turnaround, so I was able to facilitate this. Also, I was shocked to hear that your Googled unknown electrician had been aggressive to my staff and to you, which concluded with them actually hanging up on you.
To avoid further hiccups we made special arrangements to personally collect a key; a very clear example of us going out of our way to assist.
This whole process from your preferred date for an electrician to visit to when I organised an electrician to visit took two working days and had no bearing on the overall timeframe of the purchase, so it’s completely unreasonable to say this was a “deeply depressing experience”.
This purchase took 11 weeks and 1 day, the current national average is 16+ weeks, so the purchase completed well ahead of averages; even more impressive, given it was leasehold. We actively progressed for all throughout this timeframe.
I tried calling you to discuss your feedback, but you hung up on me, then emailed saying to contact you by email, I did, but you have not responded.
We are a local family independent firm, successfully trading for 30 years, we have won countless awards, many for customer service, we outsell all competitors, we’ve received hundreds of positive reviews across numerous platforms, and are very highly regarded locally, I have previously sold homes for your colleagues and loved ones, so I am disappointed that you have ended our working relationship in such an unjust way.
Having reviewed this sale, I conclude we have done nothing but good work.
