Best service in Oxford

I rented my current apartment in central Oxford through Carter Jonas last summer, and decided to renew my contract for another year because of the company's excellent service. My apartment is managed by Maddy, who takes care of everything and is always there to help. Maddy has been ensuring all my messages were answered immediately and none of the maintenance problems can remain unsolved for more than one day. Maddy is definitely a trustworthy professional and worth a five-star rating.

Ridiculous "New Renovation" expectations for an aging property - Beware

I lived in a property managed by this agency for 2.5 years. The house itself was quite old, with aged facilities that had clearly seen many years of use before I moved in. However, the biggest issue arose during the checkout process.

Great Experience with Carter Jonas Fulham Palace Road

We have recently sold our family house of nearly 30 years in Fulham’s Alphabet Streets through Carter Jonas. We had previously dealt with Wayland Ward-Smith when the office was Sullivan Thomas, when selling my late mother’s flat in the same area.We have dealt with a fair number of agents over the years and there can be no doubt that Wayland and his team are the most professional that we have come across. Throughout the process we have had good communication with the office, viewings were handled well. We were fortunate in having a number of offers for the property and Wayland and Mandy undertook due diligence and assisted wisely in enabling us to pick the picking the best offer.Definitely would recommend.

I instructed Carter Jonas' South Kensington & Knightsbridge office to rent out my mother's flat and manage the tenancy. After some damp issues arose, I had to work closely with the property management team, in particular Lara Thake, to have works done to then re-let the property. Lara was highly efficient and without her we would still be haemorrhaging money and not getting anywhere. Now we have new tenants going in to our newly decorated flat (after only three days on the market) and all damp issues are resolved thanks to Lara and her team.The residential property management team at Carter Jonas are worth their weight in gold and will only get the best possible results for you, whilst ensuring you are looked after, as well as your property. I could not recommend Carter Jonas more.

Fiona was hugely informative when we wanted to move our Newbury let to CJ and very patient as we worked through pre-let repairs over 3 months. Catherine finds new tenants quickly imparting a sense of motivation and enthusiasm. We had numerous viewings arranged for the first day of our latest vacancy from which we secured a new tenant. Jessica manages our property with deft expertise, speedy replies, concise and precise advice and guidance and is always available for voicecalls. Monika is always on the ball when she has stepped in to cover Jessica's absence. The accounts team provide regular, accurate and up to date statements. Agent was polite and well spoken but we were completely misled on a property that we fell in love with. We were not informed that the sewage comprised a cesspit which under current environmental law is illegal. The owner would not take responsibility, provided a fake quote for a septic tank and then the wrong percolation test. We spent £1400 to have it professionally looked into to find that it would cost £23k to put right. We still wanted to go ahead mainly because of the location being close to our grandchildren and the little cottage which we felt was ideal for downsizing. The”pastureland” is waste land and accommodates the overflowing sewage from the house.It is riddled with horsetail , underneath, the owner disclosed later “might be” a mine. We still wanted it! We had offered £20k over the exacting price we had the cash ready and were willing and able to spend out on making good the land. Once the drainage issue was sorted, we arranged a house survey at which point the vendor pulled the plug, he was bullying us into going ahead with solicitor, searches etc before the house survey was done. Our solicitor had firmly advised us not to spend any more money until the house survey was done. I feel Carter Jonas colluded with a cover up, failed to disclose the issues with the sewage and the adjoining land and we now wonder why were we being cornered? A very upsetting experience all in all and a great loss of time and money for us.

Restored my faith in Estate Agents!

After a long, painful relationship with another agent, Carter Jonas in Fulham Palace Road were a breath of fresh air! Always contactable (even on weekends/bank holidays much to my surprise!), honest (which is a rarity in this game), friendly, with the right level of enthusiasm, easy to talk to and upfront. As a Landlord it is so iimportant to have continuity, I got to know the whole team who were always a delight, happy to answer any questions, quick to respond and most importantly trustworthy. I never felt they were spining a yarn! I'm so happy to be working with Igor, Ana and Zoltan - they have found me lovely tenants so I am a very happy landlord. We recently let our newly refurbished two bedroom flat with the help of the wonderful team in the South Kensington & Knightsbridge office. Lajla and her team were amazing at every step. Victoria was a joy to work with and took the time to get a real understanding of our personal situation and the property itself, paying particular attention to our concerns from prior difficult tenancies. She was incredibly efficient and presented us with a selection of possible tenants that perfectly matched our requirements in less than 10 days! The paperwork was arranged swiftly and all the required admin was made completely stress free for us. We are absolutely thrilled with our new tenants and delighted with how smooth and painless the process was.
