Dreadful & Unprofessional

Dreadful & UnprofessionalOur experience with F&C Banbury has been consistently dreadful from start to finish. We don’t normally leave reviews but feel we have to in this case. Too many basic, unprofessional issues to list here. Even after we terminated the arrangement it still haunts us ….. months after they are no longer our agents they have re-added our property on their own website and on right move, which is clearly detrimental to our ongoing sale efforts via another agent. Astonishingly, when asked to remove it immediately they shirk responsibility and actually tell us that it ‘is nothing to do with them’. We are speechless - it’s on their website!Their ‘Gold’ service in our case was more like ‘Rust’. It’s odd that it’s an optional extra on their client agreement form but we were informed that it was obligatory to pay the extra for it. The sales percentage was more than double all local agents and we paid almost £1000 upfront for a shoddily produced and edited video and premium marketing that was in practice worse than others provide for free. Perhaps think very carefully before falling for the slick sales pitch. Good luck with selling your home whichever agent you use.

Everything changed when we met Guy Simmons.

Everything changed with our plans to move to Oxfordshire the day we met Guy Simmons from Fine and County. Guy truly understood our perhaps unusual needs and was able to identify a property not yet on the market which was ideal. Guy has a network of trustworthy professional colleagues who addressed the conveyancing, survey, planning, building, rental agreements etc and he has an amazing degree of local knowledge and he became our go-to man for all aspects of the project which he worked tirelessly on to bring to fruition. Guy is always easily available and friendly and has great personal skills and is a great communicator and clearly very loyal and commited to Fine and County. We have now completed and exchanged on the property but Guy continues to help us with our building plans and I hope we will stay friends for years to come. Definitely top of his game!

Mike Warren was superb throughout the sale process. Knowledgable, calm, reassuring with good advice. F&C sought us to market our property. It was already with another agent and gaining Viewings. Jack Rees promised a launch with an open day. This was cancelled as after 3 weeks not a single person had registered. Subsequent viewings (just 3 in 5 months) gave us not a single word of feedback.

Over the last 15 months we have both sold and bought a property through the Norwich office. The support received was professional at all times but also more. There was a genuine interest shown throughout the whole process, resolving any difficulties in good spirits despite the complicated working environment at present. F&C Diss - 100% recommended, 110% happy!

So...it turns out that buying/selling a house in the middle of a pandemic isn't exactly easy! We found our dream house with F&C at Diss, Norfolk and made arrangements to go and view it. Tanya met us and showed us around, introducing us to some other properties available on the same development to make sure we made an informed choice of which one to buy. Our mortgage was arranged by Chris Beard, their preffered agent, and deposit paid. Subsequent viewing were arranged with Tanya and other staff members, never too much trouble and always happy to help. Then Covid appeared and our sale went wibble...holding everything up. Sue and Chris Scott stayed in touch, were reassuring and patient and made me feel like all wasn't lost. Chris Beard was relentless and made sure that all the financials were solid. They waited patiently for my place to sell and then helped us get prepared to move once everything started up again. Nearly a year after our first viewing, we finally moved into our home at the weekend!! Its everything we hoped it would be and we can't thank the whole team at F&C in Diss enough for sticking by us and giving us a first class service. 100% recommended, 110% happy!

We want to thank Nick Barker for helping us to sell our property which we have been trying to sell since 2018! We truly believe that it was our good luck the day Nick joined us on our journey in achieving our dream of returning 'home' to family in the Northwest. An overall underwhelming attempt at…

An overall underwhelming attempt at selling my house. What started off as an excellent service deteriorated into a complacency and hope that an easy win would be the outcome, which ultimately failed at my considerable expense. There were early indications the sale was not right which I had to bring to their attention, and an attempt to later remarket the property was to stay the least half hearted. My intelligence on the unsatisfactory background to the buyers was way better than F&C and they never nailed the weaknesses.It showed how little rapport or knowledge they had with the buyers They should have shored up a robust remarket, but instead played me against jeopardy of time re selling believing they had an easy sale. The truth is the market went crazy and they were shooting fish in a barrel and I was just a number. I consider their service sub standard for the fees. The so called fancy brochure is a waste of time when it follows up so long after your initial instruction. They give plenty of fancy talk but ultimately failed to deliver badly. I consider I am owed compensation for their tardy service and the predicament they have left me in, but when did any estate agent ever own up to their shortcomings.

Uckfield branch: we went to F&C after a disaster with an East Grinstead local agent who lost a potential cash buyer, never uploaded the video (ignored chasing emails)and general poor communication. Freddie and his team were so refreshing with their professional approach and expertise. Yes you pay for the photos etc.but the quality of brochures and video was worth every penny. They found us a buyer quickly and supported us through our relocation. Easy to talk to and quick to respond. If you are looking to sell (especially property over 800k) go to the experts. I will be perfectly honest until recently I had never heard of fine and country. Suddenly across my village and the neighbouring one, we had fine and country sale boards popping up everywhere. All with sold signs attached.I decided to give themA call for a valuation. I was over moon with the result. Debbie from the heswall branch is my agent. She had an sstc for me in 6 days! Debbie is not your usual estate agent. I have sold 11 properties so far and have never met an agent like her. I am currently struggling to buy in my area, struggling to find the right house, struggling to get agents to call me back, and to put offers forward on properties that are of interest. Debbie is like a breath of fresh air. She is contactable 7 days a a week day or night. No office hours!.she is honest and very reliable. You get what you pay for and her service is worth every penny.
