Great job

My wife and chose Connells to market and hopefully sell our property for us. From the initial valuation through to the completion of our eventual sale and purchase - Stephanie and the team at Connells were fantastic. They were all professional, courteous, calming and extremely knowledgable about the property market in our area. There were no over exagerated pricing expectations and this allowed us to be realistic about what we could achieve from our sale.Stephanie and team at Connells replied to phone calls and queries very quickly - even out of office hours if needed, and were always on hand to give great advice. They were a pleasure to work with and we would happliy recommend them to anyone looking to sell their property.

they are unbelievable

they are unbelievable. Im very disappointed about how connells are handling us as tenants. Firstly, the transition into this property went anything but smoother, with the real estate providing us with the wrong set of keys resulting in us being locked out of the property with nowhere to go on a Friday night. We were not provided with an apology or explanation and it was left to us to fix. Further, we have been here since December. Initially on our check sheet for any issues with the property, we stated that the blinds in the second room were not installed. We were told this would be chased up as soon as possible. After several more weeks past we had an inspection in which I stated to the inspector the blinds have still not been installed in the second room. I was told this would be chased up with the owners. A few more weeks passed and I put in a form online through the Connels repairs website, to which i received an email saying this would be chased up immediately, but this once again was never followed up with me. Today I have made a phone call, once again to the real estate agent in maidstone about the blinds and have been told, once again, this would be chased up immediately. We have been living here for 4 months and still we have no blinds. Why is it so hard to fix what is supposedly their responsibility to fix, I can only report it so many times. the issue is still progressing till now that I'm writing this.

Poisonous Company, Avoid at all costs!

I don't want to go ito too much detail but as first time buyers Connells though they could take advantage of our small knowledge of how mortgages work and prices. After going through their mortgage broker (£499 fee) because we were pretty much forced to go through them we were given quotes for home insurance and life insurance. These were said to be 'great deals', luckily I have worked in home and my partner if life and instantly said 'no' as the prices quote were astronomical.Once we were not looking to go with the quotes, the adviser instantly turned bitter and starting ramming all the paper documents into a folder. She had already ripped us off with the broker fee so she got some commission at least. What does the broker do you ask? nothing, absolutely nothing. It does NOT make it easier as they say that they will be doing all the chasing and everything will go through them. Not a chance, we had to chase everything after being given wrong pricing information, wrong forms were sent and wrong names were quoted. We have since lodged a big complaint which has been returned with a slap in the face of £45 compo and a sarcastic letter saying they are 'puzzled' at our claim.I can assure i will respond this this and if needs be go to the ombudsman as all i can say of Connells is that they are unprofessional, blaggers and estate agents in general should be more tightly regulated like the banks as they get away with everything. We will never be going through Connells again and cannot warn people enough!!

Brandon recently supported me in finding a new fixed mortgage deal for a buy to let property. I found him to be very knowledgeable about the different products on the market; he listened carefully to my requests and kept me well informed throughout the process. Brandon was incredibly efficient: submitting paperwork in good time to secure current deals. Would highly recommend!

"Smoothly" process could cost my family's life!!!

The worst experience ever. They told me that house its ready to live... All ready in 3 month we spend 10000 for repair. Roof and rest. When I ask them early for full building survey thay offer that as thay can booking it for me. Survey was but not full. With out electrican and gas safe check... One day before completion thay provide me first title insurance policy coverage for known risk, and told me that insurance what ex owner get for me coz he did not have safe checks. One month earlie I told them if owner will be not happy to pay for safe checks, Im ready to do that. Coz safe of my family its more worth than 130 £. So, they keept me waiting and after cuplle months they provide me insurance with out any explain how this insurance gona work... Never use them service agane. One thing what they care its to take yours money.. much as they can. 3 weeks ago all my family get carbon monoxide poisoning. Boiler installation from 12.2015 was absolutely ridiculous what gas safe inspector said thats why gas flue from boiler get disconected cupple months earlie..... Defenetly house ready to live!!!

Extortionate Fees Charged to Tennant

Myself and my partner looked to rent a house available to let through Connels. Met the landlord at the property, got along great, he showed us around and we loved it! Great you'd think? Then the "estate agent" from Connels turned up (10 mins late), in a scruffy looking suit. We'd already seen around the property and began negotiations with the landlord regarding rent etc. We then asked the scruffy looking agent how to proceed, he began to list fees we'd need to pay for two people renting. Thee fees he listed totalled £684!!! Yup, that's Six Hundred Eighty Four pounds!! For two people to be credit checked. This is a non-refundable amount, not counted towards any deposit or first months rent. They seem to think that a Tenancy Agreement requires a £210 rewrite, and that the Tenant is liable for an "Inventory Check" (OF THE LANDLORDS PROPERTY)! There's then the fact that'll require a further £114 every SIX MONTHS to "renew/extend" a contract. Absolute rip off merchants, and no wonder the government has to get involved to stop agents extorting fees from tenants! Connels, you're a disgrace and I for one will be glad to see government regulations in place to limit the amount you can extort from tenants.

Treated like garbage

I was a customer of Connells for nearly 5 years as a tenant in one of their properties. It was bad service from day one. They lied to me about being allowed pets in the house by saying that it was fine and then changing their mind after I had signed. They refused to fix problems noticed in the inventory such as very dirty cupboards and a crack in the front window, but said should this get any worse I would be charged. The house was in an awful state when i moved in but at the time i had just moved to the area and didn't have a job. I paid 6 months rent up front and in that time got a job but Connell always treated me like a criminal in my own home. The tried to enter more than once with no notice and claimed the letter was sent despite the fact i would always call to arrange visits. There was no emergency help and i had to stay at a friends one night when the security door broke and I could not get into my home. They left me without a carpet in an unheated hallway for over a week during which time i got quite ill. They never fixed any problem i called them about and seemed to always blame everything on the landlady. They where rude to me on more than one occasion for no reason. I kept the house tidy. I always paid rent early and only ever called if I had to but was treated like rubbish by them. They seem to turn over staff at an alarming rate as i could never talk to the same person twice. When i moved out i gave over 2 months notice and received nothing back from them. A month before leaving i went in to ask if i needed to do anything and was told they had no idea i was leaving. This was very accusatory, luckily i had emailed them so i had proof. They responded with that employee had left, as if it was my fault they didn't know i was going. I ignored this and set up to leave. On the last day they set up a exit inspection which they didn't even turn up for. I waited 3 hours in a cold, empty house and then went to the branch to hand in my key. They then took nearly a month to hand back my deposit. I have been with other agencies before and can truly say Connell is not just the worst agency, but the worst company i have ever dealt with.

The agents in Westbrom are bullish and…

The agents in Westbrom are bullish and racists. The agents are conniving with landlords to confiscate your deposit. Aarif threatened my wife when we terminated our rent contract in B20. Connells West Brom is still holding my £1600 deposit.

Did not meet expectations

Our estate agent was a nice chap, but the experience did not meet our expectations and I would not recommend anyone use Connells for these reasons:1) the agent came over to take pictures. Didn't have a camera so had to use mine 2) the agent took pictures with my camera but did not recommend moving anything out of the room as other estate agents would, for example. Pictures were so bad we had to re-take them ourselves3) said they would bring the write up to the photograph appointment so we could approve and get live. Didn't bring it. 3) Promised the advert would go live that day (we initially went with them because they responded quickly and said they could get us online quickly). The advert didn't go live that day because they hadn't done the write up 4) we then had to chase for the write up. Eventually the next day something was sent over that could have been written in 2 minutes. It excluded a lot of details about the house and the location. When we queried this we were told it was the write up for the printed brochure; not what we asked for. We asked for the write up for online because that's what we wanted to do asap - launch online. After a back and forth we received the online write up but it wasn't complete or adequate.5) after all of this we decided that if we were going to have to do all the work and spend a lot of time chasing our agents it was not worth the hassle and we needed to get some other options. We did this and then tried to cancel the contract. 6) we did not hear back from Connells confirming the contract had been cancelled until (1.5 weeks after sending 3 emails with the cancellation) we phoned their head office, who asked us to email it to them, and then they got in touch with the branch and we received a confirmation almost immediately. Overall it felt unprofessional and unable to deliver on the sales pitch. The estate agent was a nice guy, but ultimately we did not have the confidence in the team that they were going to do everything they could for us to get the sale, and that we would be stepping in far more than we wanted to or have the time to. The lack of response over the cancellation email from the team (emailed to both the estate agent individually, the entire office staff, and the cancellation email address) confirms our view that this agency is out purely to make the sale, not necessarily to do what's right and what's best for their customers. There are other estate agents out there who can sell your house and prioritise customer service, accuracy and hitting deadlines. I would recommend potential sellers look elsewhere.

Horriffic

Already left a review titled horrific a month back. I chased repairs again this morning. They waited until 1729 and sent a email with a fake business qoute for 900 pound and tried to blame me for repairs. Truth is if they fixed bathroom wen reported in 2017 the issues would not have hapoened. They waited til they went home to send email so i couldnt discuss. Awful awful company.

Connells wolverhampton Jenny Turner mortgage advisor

We were recommended to lady called Jenny Turner at the wolverhampton branch of Connells for mortgage advice, by a friend of ours. We can honestly say this woman is an expert in her field. Within 2 weeks of our meeting we had a morgage offer and a week later our keys to our new home. The process was completely seamless and only having two 1hr appointments. She made sure we came fully prepared to each meeting, to make the process simple and smooth. We just cannot get over how straight forward she made it. Having been through this process before, with weeks of waiting and endless paperwork being posted backwards and forwards, this was a breath of fresh air. This lady is an absolute expert in her field and knowledge of the industry is second to none. She is an absolute asset to Connells. And we will most Deffinatley be going back to her when our two year rate is up. I will most Deffinatley recommending Jenny Turner to my friends. Thank you Jenny xxx

Looks like I'm not the only one with a poor experience

I purchased a house via Connells in 2023, and it was not an experience I want to repeat. I was forced into visiting their in house mortgage advisor and told I would get a better chance of purchasing the house I was interested in if I used them.

Disappointed & Disgusted

We brought our house in 2014 and after 2 years and a complete refurbishment and have spent £45k+ we put our house back on the market with Connells, ( BIG MISTAKE ) we were advised to go out and look for something else as was told ours wouldn't be on the market long, we found another property. After 6 weeks will no viewings at all my mother rang the branch as a mystery shopper just so I could have some feedback, to my horror within the first 30 seconds of the phone call it was all negatives she was told it was a mid terrace it's a semi, it's an ex local authority it's very isolated and has a restriction. After this we have since put in a complaint and have gone through the correct procedure of a 15 day return with no result, we have asked to speak to the area manager Paul Edginton with no reply and today have asked to speak to the regional manager Stephen Shipley again with no reply, my husband spoke to Patricia Judge who then began to bully and laugh at my husband on the phone today with again very unprofessional we are now on week 11 and to date we still have had no viewings.

Quick professional sale and found us our dream house!

For our sale and purchase I would like to thank Connells for providing such outstanding and professional estate agents. Connells' knowledge of the market, responsiveness and well developed network of clients was clear from the outset. In under a week Marie had delivered a highly professional marketing package, had numerous buyers view our property, and had it sold at the asking price. You gave us sound advice throughout and even a bit of emotional support when needed! That is outstanding. David you found us the house of our dreams - for us, in our circumstances, it is a perfect fit. Thank you so much. I really cannot conceive of a better service.

Why can agents only talk and not hear ?

Why is it that agents just dont hear what you tell them, went into Connells in Dorchester looking for a property to "do up" as a property developer and advised they had just the property ...... a semi detached house a developer had recently completed, explained we were looking for something before it was refurbished (three times) and had to bluntly say NO to the property, none others to look at - what the agent did not know it we are just about to sell two flats we have completed - they will not be getting the instructions. Guy was pleasant and polite but please open those ears !

Can’t fault them at all, everything was explained clearly each step of the way, and Brandon went above and beyond to help make things as easy as possible. I am grateful to Richard, and other members of the team at Connells Melton Mowbray, who worked very hard through what I thought was a difficult and time consuming transaction. I can happily recommend Connell's as an Estate Agent however there is a need to be cautious about using their Conveyancing services as their customer support is woefully inadequate.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

First time buyers- stay clear

As first time buyers the estate agents were terrible. We had a mortgage in principle yet they still insisted we could not proceed until we spoke to their mortgage advisor. They took a week to get us ‘qualified’ to put in an offer and because of this we lost out on our house. There was a lack of communication and lack of explanations and all round rude service. Would not recommend one bit
