Great service right from the start

The sales team on Glan Llyn have been great from our first enquiry. They listened to our requirements and met each one as best they could. On reserving a plot a full explanation was given as to exactly what to expect, timescales and specification.

As another customer has reported. Having put down a reservation deposit we unfortunately had to withdraw. Despite numerous emails, phone calls and promises from St Modwen Homes, Locking Parklands, our money has still not been refunded. We have been told the money has been paid into our account but this is not the case. We have been promised a phone call to discuss, but we are still waiting. Unfortunately we feel that we are not important and we would not recommend this company to others.

I strongly recommend you don't buy from…

I strongly recommend you don't buy from these cowboys!!Our new house has been riddled with plumbing errors and some cosmetic stuff. Everytime they came to do touch ups or fix the problem the issues always reoccurred.Now it's been over 2 years and St Modwen are now refusing to carry on this work, so now I'm left with leaks in my house from dodgey plumbing which in turn is leaving damp patches around my house. I'll never use St Modwen ever again!

Avoid avoid avoid. What can I say. They’ll promise the earth and deliver you a house with 100’s & 100’s of issues that’ll take years to sort. They’ll blatantly lie to you via email and the phone. Plumbing will be back to front, walls out of line. Dangerous electrical defects. Roads still not done after 4 years. Awful customer service.This is for Weogoran Park, you can even search for it online and the issues as the local papers and the Daily Mail covered the problems.

Yet again lack of communication with customer services We had customer service manager to visit our property to address all building errors that St Modwens had made , well he agreed with us that the mistakes should have not happened and that the workmanship was not up to standard , he promised to contact that same afternoon after his meeting , oh what a surprise no phone call ,so i said an email , oh what a surprise no reply , next day still waiting for a phone call so sent yet another email but what a surprise no response. This company should not be allowed to trade they expect people to move into they’re homes before they are even complete, drives not completed , porches not completed painting not completed, the lust is endless . This company are breaking contract rules as the homes are rushed and not completed property. People please avoid this company. If customer services manager Geraint Powell doesn’t contact you then what chances have we got AVOID ,AVOID , AVOID . We will continue to warn other of this company

Please Read, think and think again

Please think and think again before buying from St Modwen. Initially the experience was good (as they didn't have all my money). On handover I felt very rushed to go around the house and quickly sign. When I didn't want to do this I was hounded in every room whist I made a snag list. I understand lots of things might come out of the wood work in time which is why you can collate a snag list in the first 2 weeks ... So they say. Now to the snag list post handover. Trying to get them to do anything to any kind of standard is terrible. You will be promised the world and will be delivered nothing. You will be forgotten about until you recall them when they will make excuses and offer more promises. I recently found my boiler is a 15kw. Now this shouldn't be an issue but my house is quite large (4 bedroom, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms) which a 15kw boiler simply doesn't hit every room. They have told me they have investigated and that is correct although my friends in same house down the street all have 18kw?? I'll be brief with outside the property, you will find St Modwen will NOT put any topsoil down on your garden. Instead you will find a cluster of rocks, bricks cement, sandwich wrappers, plastic bottles, scaffolding clips ( in abundance) and no under lawn drainage. I've had to landscape the whole thing as I'm just exhausted with their customer services, which I actually think is one of their tactics. I would describe their customer service like an abyss of hopeless lies, frictional confrontation and endless disappointment. I have really tried to be honest with this review and hope it helps someone. If I had my time again I would not have purchased this property

A few issues, but fairly happy.

We had a very good initial experience with St Modwen when buying the home.We had quite a few miscommunications and no one could tell us a straight anwser about the part exchange and would not put us in contact with the part exchange team which meant we had to always go through a middle man, which meant a longer waiting time for issues to be resolved.We had a difficult time communicating with one particular member of staff. We also were only offered extras that we asked for, we were never shown an extras sheet or offered any extras with the house that we may have wanted.We are very very pleased with the house, however we are still waiting for the fence issue to be resolved as it is still able to be seen through, we have contacted the site manager numerous times about this but it is still unresolved. They keep telling us that this is the first time doing a fencing like this but that is absolutely no excuse for how we have been left with it for the past 3 months. This is upsetting as there are builders constantly walking past and looking in, I am currently breastfeeding our son and I would like to be able to sit outside in my own garden without the worry of people being able to see.

The service that we received throughout our homebuying journey was incredible. As we are first time buyers we were really unsure of the processes and how things worked, but the sales team talked us through it and were there on hand to help with everything. The house itself is exactly what we had wished for. Spacious, great layout and most importantly the build quality is second to none.
