GoogleWe have just completed the sale of a 2 bedroom flat in London EC1 for around £700k. I've sold and bought around ten properties in the past forty years. This latest started with a dire big estate agency who did every lousy trick: winning our business by over-valuing the flat, getting key details wrong in the listing, suddenly saying we needed dramatically reduce the price for chance of a sale and,, finally, attempting to claim we had signed and were stuck with them as exclusive agents for three months. Then, luckily, someone recommended Tom here. Tom found a clever loophole to get away from bad agency. We went exclusive with Tom then. The sale has taken some time (the market is difficult) but we could always see that Tom was working for us. His advice was sound and his updates regular and thorough. Tom is calm, measured, reliable and sound. I recommend this agency very highly.

GoogleI found Thomas Michael Estate Agents online when thinking of selling our property - 5 Spring House, on Margery St, Finsbury, WC1X. I'm glad I picked up the phone and recommend them without reservation. Discussions were always easy, clear and polite with a friendly tone. This was especially appreciated by us as we are in Scotland and Tom's ability and promptness at all times, both in returning calls and emails meant we could rest assured.
After viewing our tenanted property his valuation was more than we'd anticipated, but sensibly and correctly in line with the current market. The online presentation was excellent. In particular we liked the undistorted professional photographs.
Many enquiries and viewings were quickly followed by an excellent prompt offer. As slow solicitors caused things to linger on beyond an agreed completion date (being used to Scottish Contractual Law we were, having emptied the property, naturally perturbed) Tom calmly and encouragingly saw things through on our behalf. This agency provided us with a first class service and also at a lower commission than all other agencies I spoke with. We wouldn't hesitate to engage Thomas Michael again or recommend them to friends.

GoogleI’ve viewed properties with this agency twice, once three years ago and again this year. Both times, the same agent, Tom, ended the viewing in the exact same abrupt way: a quick “goodbye” followed by the door literally shutting in my face.
Everything during the viewing was fairly normal, but the sudden, almost dismissive ending was genuinely shocking. It left me wondering, does he treat all potential renters and buyers this way?
He is polite throughout the process until the last 5 seconds was SHOCKING.

Hello Bethan, I had to search your name in my emails and see that we dealt with you in January 2024 - 21 months ago. You were never a client of this agency but you did offer on a two bed ex-local authority flat in Old St. I have reviewed our emails and we were very responsive and helpful to you, indeed you thanked us for 'squeezing in the viewing' within a couple of hours of your initial viewing request. My then associate Adam and I had a friendly and professional correspondence with you for around a week but you did miss out on the flat because an offer was received £10,000 above yours and from a cash buyer. You were taking a mortgage. As this was a high rise block we took a view you would have struggled to have borrowed on the flat it even if your offer was higher.

GooglePretty unprofessional agent. Not polite, not willing to explain things, but rather convinced of the (unfortunately true) fact that he will still rent out the house at the price he wants. When you ask to see the flat it looks like you are asking him to make an effort (only in person clearly, because he does not allow virtual ones). Even though your profile looks good, if he does not like you, you'll have no chances, and I knew that from the beginning. Lost days behind him and never heard back. Still wondering if landlords know how he operates.

GoogleI have been using Thomas Michael to let out my rental flat since 2012. They have found 3 excellent tenants for me in that time and I have had nothing but the most professional and efficient service from them. It makes such a refreshing change from the more well-known estate agents that I have dealt with in the past. I only ever deal with Tom (rather than a never-ending rotation of contacts), I'm not bombarded by marketing phone calls or emails and the fees are excellent value. I rarely ever post reviews on the web but I'm very happy to recommend Thomas Michael.
