We had such a great experience buying through this estate agent. From the second John showed us around the property, we felt really well looked after. He was friendly, honest, and genuinely helpful. Once our offer was in, Giselle was on the case at all times. Exceptional Service from Litchfields - Highly Recommended! I recently had to sell a property with exceptional urgency before the anticipated budget on October 30, 2024, which is widely expected to significantly increase capital gains tax, potentially affecting the sale. I initially listed the property with another local agency that I’d worked with for many years, giving them sole agency. They advised me to aim for a price between £750,000 and £800,000, “at a push.” They found a buyer, but unfortunately, the buyers turned out to be “messers,” and despite eventually agreeing to sell for £780,000, the buyers pulled out for no good reason. I then turned to Litchfields, and their director, Giselle, confidently advised me to aim for £825,000. In her headmistress-like tone, she assured me that the property’s location warranted the price and strongly suggested I shouldn’t accept a penny less. While I was sceptical and assumed that it was “estate agent speak”, I decided to trust her judgement. Giselle promised that they’d secure an offer within a month. Needless to say, they didn’t keep that promise… because with 27 days still to go, they had an offer at the full asking price in just three days! I certainly didn’t expect that. Throughout the process, I was kept informed at every step, which was a refreshing change from my previous experiences. I have never received such exceptional service from estate agents, a profession many of us love to hate! Everything went smoothly, and I can’t thank Giselle and John enough. They’ve now become my “go-to” agents, and I’ve already entrusted them with selling a larger property. This review may seem overly glowing, but I’m local to Litchfields’ office, and I have given them permission to use me as a reference. We had been very wrongly advised by a local agent to list at a crazy price at the start of 2024 and had one offer in the Summer which fell through in the Autumn. I then remembered I had purchased a Flat in 2001 from Giselle and called her .... she was still running Lichfields and I explained the problems with the other agent. I have just bought a flat in Highgate through Litchfields. They have been uniformly courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. In particular, I would highlight their deep expertise in the locality. They seem to know everything there is to know about the village and individual properties. They also went out of their way to be helpful and to provide information but without the hard sell, indeed aggressive, attitude that I experienced from a number of other agents. They were of course acting in the interests of their clients, the vendors, but I felt they got a better deal for the vendors by being helpful and polite to us as purchasers.
