If I could give zero I will! Awful experience starting from when they gave me the keys and then literally disappeared! Then the inventory was totally different from what I found in the house and when I contacted them they said contact the landlord we can’t do anything! Glad that the landlord was cooperative. Now after leaving the house it took them 10 days to send me the inventory checkout and I called them everyday and they gave a different story every day! Now I have been chasing the deposit for 1 month! Literally awful experience, avoid at any cost.

RUN AWAY FROM THEM!I have lived in many flats in London and never have I experienced such a terrible process. First of all, we wrote down a formal offer with 1 only requirement. After our offer was accepted and we payed one week worth of rent to secure the place, they tell us that specific requirement cannot be met. They took almost 3 weeks to make the landlord sign our contract, and it was voided TWICE so we had to re-sign the contract 3 times in total as they kept adding clauses to it. During the move in, we realise the flat had not been cleaned (and the contract stated everything had to be professionally cleaned, even curtains and sofas.....) but the flat was in an appalling state really. We asked for it to be cleaned again and we are still waiting..... Not to say that we are still waiting for the landlord to pay the inventory. The people in this agency are very rude and will treat you bad. One advice, never use this agency!!!

GoogleWe moved to London from the US, knowing where we wanted to live in London but not much more. We engaged a relocation agency to help us but their process and speed was not really working for us. I found a listing online that was represented by John D Wood and was contacted by Anne Battumur to schedule a viewing. When I met at the property in question with Anne, from the start she was very professional, courteous and engaging. The property ended up not quite being the right fit for us but Anne had proactively already prepared a few other ones, based on the short conversation we had prior to the viewing, that were similar in style and close by and so we went to view those as well. All of them were very well aligned with what we sought, Anne clearly had listened and understood what our core wants were. One of the listings she had found was the perfect match for our wants and needs, and even though it was represented by another firm, Anne setup everything for us with that firm and agent and helped us secure the property at a great price. She also educated us on all the steps, nuances and details of the UK rental market and made the whole experience so easy and stress free for us. It was truly good fortune that led us to Anne, I don't think our home search as expats could have been made any better than what Anne delivered. If you're in the market for a home in the Chelsea area I highly recommend to contact Anne Battumur at John D Wood & Co. You will be in great hands and well taken care of. Whenever we will next be in need of help we will certainly return to her.

I have had really good customer service from the team at John D Wood, especially Sardar and Camilla. Sardar swiftly arranged a viewing for me and he and Camilla were fantastic pushing things through so I could have a move in date within a week. Exceptional, especially with the move in date being 2 days before Christmas.Highly recommended!

As a tenant who has had John D Wood as my lettings management for the last 6 years I can say that they are absolutely awful. They don't reply to emails, don't take responsibility, don't put out of office emails on so you can't get anything urgent done. I would never use them.

GoogleVery biased towards the landlord if you want any of your deposit back - they tried to say I was responsible for issues that were already there and noted as present upon check-in. Fine for timely email correspondence but not only did I have them allow people into the flat without telling me or with my permission on several occasions. If they did tell me, they gave me less than 24 hours notice in advance and did nothing about it when I complained. Additionally, when asked to fix something it took a very long time to address the issue - if it was addressed at all (e.g. I asked upon moving in that they ask the building to fix my intercom and doorbell, which was supposed to be fixed within a few months. A year later, and I move out and it still wasn't fixed.) I would highly advise against John D. Wood.

GoogleAwful service. Called them to market one of my flats on 12th July mid-afternoon twice and nobody bothered to answer. Decided to give them a 2nd chance. Called on 23rd July (Rosa?) and was told that I needed to speak to Will who was on a call but would call me back. Called back 2 hours later (Giselle?) and was told Will had stepped away from his desk but would call me back. It’s over a week now and I've had no call or message. But that’s OK as I’ll market my 7 local properties elsewhere that offers, at least, some basic customer service. I suggest this estate agent answers the phone and starts calling customers back. I also suggest Will’s manager has a word with him. I wonder how many other customers have taken their £££ elsewhere?

John D Wood owns APW, a lettings management company. Having raised a complaint against APW, I was, after a ridiculous amount of badgering, passed to John D Wood. Despite terrible reviews of APW already in place and after providing (several times) a list of 14 significant issues, I was informed they had done nothing wrong. Well, if the service (or lack thereof) I received was ‘fine’, goodness knows what this company thinks is poor service. Absolutely dreadful experience. I share another reviewer's frustration when they said they'd rather give their house away than use these guys again. Truly awful. Please don't use them.

Unprofessional, non-responsive and DO NOT return deposits timely I had a problem slumlord with endless defects in the flat at 4100 a month. Landlord used JDW chelsea/earls court to manage the property. The pod never responded to email to fix anything. After 6 months we agreed to leave and pay less rent. The kid and his colleagues delayed releasing £4700 deposit for 18 days after moving out using any and all excuses until I threatened to file a dispute! Buyer be ware.
