TrustpilotHunters Northenden branch
Hunters Northenden branch. Louis at Hunters could not have been more helpful. I was renting a retirement property for my father who was moving areas to be nearer us. Louis was very understanding of our needs and our urgency and we had everything sorted within 3 weeks. He was very efficient and answered emails very promptly. We couldn't have had a better experience.

GoogleWe had a fantastic experience with Serhan from Hunter Lees estate agent. About a year ago we moved and every agent/interaction was extremely complicated and unpleasant experience. From the very minute we reached out to Hunters Lee everything was straightforward, kind/considerate, helpful, and excellent communication. We even started thinking it was too good to be true!, but it wasn't. We are very grateful to Serhan for the help facilitating our move to our new home.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

TrustpilotAn unfortunate attitude from Hunters
My boyfriend and I were purchasing a property through Hunters and they were pleasant enough. However, when we received the results of the independent survey two months down the line, it highlighted what we considered to be significant problems with the property, particularly the necessity of a whole new roof, and the replacement of brickwork.Naturally, we had not - and could not have - factored in the cost of these repairs, or the time it would take to carry them out, so we emailed our contact at Hunters in Sunderland, simply outlining the issues that the survey had presented, and attaching the report in full. The reply we received explained ‘The seller is not under any obligation to carry out any work or offer a reduction’. While true, this attitude seemed hostile to us, and rather unprofessional. We did not mention a negotiation of price, or the current owners carrying out the work themselves - although, to be frank, these did not seem unreasonable expectations. We had misgivings about how considerable an undertaking the repairs would be, both financially and physically, but were open to discussing options with Hunters/the sellers. However, we decided to withdraw from the sale, and Hunters’ attitude did play a big part in that. As a prospective buyer, you do not have a choice over which estate agent to deal with, but I would certainly be reticent about purchasing a property sold by Hunters in the future, and would strongly advise sellers to consider the overwhelmingly negative reviews on this page before engaging Hunters, as the wrong estate agent could scupper a sale, as in this case.

TrustpilotDishonest and unprofessional
We drove over 250 miles to view a house listed for let @ £900. We said we like it and were happy to proceed, after all similar properties down south cost £1000 a month….We were absolutely shocked when they got back to us, offering us the house for £1000 because they knew we could afford it… we were aghast! I have never ever encountered such skullduggery and dishonesty…. Of course we declined… how can one deal with such a dishonest estate agent as these!

TrustpilotVery helpful and patient.
Very helpful, kind and considerate. We have just moved into our new home after lots of ups and downs which started with the Covid lockdown. Without going into detail we had a lot of problems with our respective buyers and sellers. Hunters at Pocklington were so supportive, patient and understanding and were with us at every step. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

TrustpilotHunters Horncastle:
Hunters Horncastle:If you are looking for an EA who keeps you updated and informed then I would NOT use Hunters, if you want the privilege of paying for doing your own work then by all means use this EA, also if you want to feel as though the EA is acting on behalf of the buyer instead of the seller… this is the one for you!!! They say the right things to get the initial business and then offer bad advise and never any follow up or conversations about the state of the market during contract period, even when requested. Also emails and WA messages were ignored. Worst Estate Agent I’ve ever used. It seems that Katherine (who did the viewings) and Susan (admin) seem to hold them just above water and do all the donkey work. Just my honest opinion!! Would have given zero rating if possible

TrustpilotI was buying a house through hunters
I was buying a house through hunters, wasn’t the best experience in the world. When it came to getting the keys from the bishop Auckland office, I was told to wait outside in the cold for 15 minutes, then presented with 1 key by itself, there was no congrats on your first home or any welcome gifts or anything, just here’s your key, see you later 👍🏼😂 got into the house, it wasn’t clean, the kitchen had been flooded which warped all the kitchen floor which I then had to pay to get it sorted. They should have done a check once the owners were out the house in order to make sure it was in a fit state and as seen on the viewings. I’ve since rented out houses around that area and stayed well clear of hunters, I would never use them again after the experience I had with them.

Hunters -Ealing Friendly professional, I can’t thank Steve enough. The time, energy and commitment, he was the bridge between both my solicitor and the buyers and was 100% committed. Everything went through Smoove and this was due to Steve and Hunters-Ealing. I have recommended them to other sellers and they will be always highly recommended by me

I went with hunters theough word or mouth and i have already recommended Hunters to friends who i know are selling or thinking of selling their property. They are an amazing team and so friendly. Thankyou ladies for making a difficult situation so bareable. We got there in the end.

TrustpilotJust don't use this Estate Agent
Just don't use this Estate Agent. And really don't use them to do an Inventory. They made so many errors we had to almost redo it ourselves. They missed the Fridge Freezer. Washing machine and Dishwasher in the Kitchen. They said there was a white wooden wardrobe in the bathroom, there isn't I could go on and on. I have asked for a refund but of course not heard anything!

GoogleRENTERS BEWARE!! Appalling letting agent. Should be ZERO STAR. Staff clearly don’t communicate with each other and they’re only interested in the landlord, not the tenant. Saw a property twice with 2 different staff, that they’d been managing for 8-10 years.... both people had different stories on the property. The property had clearly not been well managed and was in a very shabby state. Peeling paint, crumbling woodwork, not to mention how filthy it was. However I put in an offer, lower than the asking price reflecting the state of the property, but with an offer to do it up. No one bothered to get back to me and it was let to some other mug who was wrongly led to believe it was acceptable to pay overpriced rent for a badly managed, delapidated property. In this case low agency fees = equally low standards all round. If you’re a renter avoid these guys like the plague.
In response to the below, I DID make a formal offer of £1050, which considering the property has Japanese Knotweed as well, was entirely reasonable and I never heard a response back. I stand by the fact that I was not given the opportunity to up my offer, or discuss the situation further. And the property was grossly overpriced.

Dear Victoria,
I'm sorry to hear you feel this way and I'm very surprised by your comments. Therefore I would like to lay out our version of events:
Tuesday evening: You viewed the property with my colleague and made an offer of 80% of the asking price based on the fact you would carry out redecoration work to the property yourself
Wednesday morning: I called you to inform you that the landlord had declined your offer and made you a counter offer. I also informed you that the landlord would now be reducing the asking price to the same as that counter offer - £1,150pcm. At your request I then arranged a second viewing for that morning during which you listed a number of areas of the property you were unhappy with and told me you "had lots of other options at this price but if the landlord changed his mind and stopped being greedy you would be interested at £1,050pcm".
This did not constitute a formal offer and the landlord didn't change his mind as two days later another applicant secured the property at the full asking price.
As an agency we aim to look after both our tenants and landlords and we also like to let a home to a tenant who is going to be happy to live in the property - based on your negative description of the property I don't feel this would have been the right home for you.
Should you wish to discuss the matter further you're welcome to email me on vikram@avonproperty.co.uk and I wish you the best of luck in finding a new home.

TrustpilotRude and unprofessional
I had a viewing arranged and nobody could give me a meeting point for a large apartment building with several entrances. Spent nearly 20 minutes at the location wondering around and trying to reach the person that was supposed to show me around, all calls declined. Office couldn’t get through to her either and when she finally calls me is to rudely tell me off for not showing up at a different entrance when she never told me where to go, speaking to me in an angry tone and then hanging up.

TrustpilotWe have taken our flat off the market…
We have taken our flat off the market following 2 failures by the agents in Filey. All seemed well to start with, enthusiastic staff produced good pictures etc. We had a viewing, a few days later we had the good news that the lady was to purchase. 3 weeks later, we were informed that she was indeed NOT buying our flat, but another in our block, still not sure where the responsibility for this lies. The second occasion, we had a second viewing from a few months ago, so were really excited. 5 minutes after the appointment we were informed the gentleman didn't even have his property on the market !! Apparently, we should have stipulated we only wanted people who are in a position to proceed. Never have we heard such stupidity, thought agents sold properties !!??

TrustpilotHad Hunters out to value my property…
Had Hunters out to value my property for sale but got really bad vibes from the valuer. Found them to be unprofessional so went with another agency (who were amazing)Unfortunately a property I liked was up with Hunters. Tried to negotiate a deal on the property but the communication through Hunters was not good. I don’t think it was the process rather the person handling it. When negotiating you would expect them to act as professional intermediaries however they were disinterested and as cold as a wet fish. I would have been better dealing directly with the homeowner and we may have been able to make a deal. I left my offer on the table but I have no idea if that was ever passed onto the homeowner. I’m sure there will be some great Hunters branches out there but I’ve not come across one yet. My heart sinks a bit now if I see a property up with Hunters. I just don’t want to deal with them ever for a purchase.Edit.We did end up buying a house through a Hunters branch. Although I did do the deal directly with the homeowner in the first instance we agreed on how to proceed and then we went to the agent. They were actually very good so I guess it’s pot luck which branch you use.
