bad! so never again. avooid if you can. agree with what Marky said ! he sums it up perfectly. their agent pulled out a clause to Inform to me that he/she will Show Up! attempted to show up without me approving or gaing prior consents- on 2 times. luckily i corrected.. I don’t think thus is allowed? he/she even tried to shorten the time frame, violatjng the very 24h clause that was used to pressure me even though I was responsive & certainly very polite! second time the agent brought. an extra colleague without notifying me, I don’t think this is allowed either, potentially could be viewed as trespassing .. language used during interaction was mjsleading after gently giving feedback, continued to push & towards the very end! all could be classed as misleadingg and aggressivee behaviours even though i was very polite & responsive to them. at the end, my convo was probably put into l0cked chat. No 0ne brothers to resolve. it was L0la - then Sol0mon who probably pr3tended to be l0la’s manager - then pret3nded his work phone now bel0ngs to Lukazs - which Lucas could potential be his middle name or something.. was not a normal interaction😳🧐 maybe anna was the person who trespassed… i don’t think this is allowed? I could be wrong but I don’t think so… regardijg taking videos/phots, my flat was jn a state during moving. I was at the property for a long time so lots of belongings. Given we have the right to feel safe in our own property, i don’t think i was obligated to let them take photos of the flat if i had belongins everywhere, Valuable ones too. this is to protect myself, yet even after clear explanations, continue to push / pressure / pretend phone no longer belongs to the person who was working there, no one seems to care to admjt wrongdoings .. I genuinely did not feel safe during the whole encounter. i have proofs, could provide photos of these along with this review,. I just never want to leave a negatjve review truthfully

Scam Artists. I tried to purchase a property which was a hybrid auction, modern sale. The estate agents at Foxtons promised me that the way the system works is that the first buyer who is ready to purchase gets to buy the property. On the basis of this I paid for a lawyer £1200. I waited three months and I was ready to purchase but the buyer was not ready to sell, they had an issue evicting the tenant. I was kept on the line while Foxtons sold the property to another buyer. Foxtons had assured me that they would keep me informed about any other interest- They did not. The first I heard about the other buyer was when they exchanged on the property. This was also a bare faced lie. They lied to me about the way the hybrid sale works and as a result I lost the legal fees and 6 months of my search (I had to start again from scratch). They are scam artists to be avoided at all costs.

Engaging Foxtons gives you a full and free education in exactly why the government is cracking down on unethical behaviour through the Renters’ Rights Act. From the outset, I was misled, lied to, and manipulated. While they were trying to secure tenants, everything was smiles and promises. Once tenants were in place and contracts signed, the mask slipped and the behaviour changed entirely. At one point, when I referenced things Foxtons staff had explicitly said to me, I was asked if I “had that in writing”. Which tells you they’re fully aware their own word isn’t worth much. Foxtons have no meaningful regard for people’s wellbeing. They seem perfectly happy setting tenants up and then screwing them over via convoluted, self-serving processes clearly designed to maximise commission rather than deliver a functioning service. When I raised concerns, I was met with genuinely horrific customer service, despite paying huge fees. I’ve been shocked, and frankly embarrassed for them, by how poor their handling, communication, and professionalism have been throughout. If you’re wondering why regulation exists in this industry, it’s because of Foxton’s.

Foxtons provided a very poor service throughout our property purchase. Communication was overly pushy and, at times, felt inappropriate, with repeated pressure to make decisions quickly. The agents consistently appeared to prioritise the vendor’s interests and made implications that later proved to be inaccurate or misleading. The property had previously been managed by Foxtons as an HMO, yet it was not compliant with basic HMO standards and appeared to breach several housing regulations. This raised serious concerns about the quality of their property management and due diligence. Additionally, on the day of exchange, we were given the keys to the wrong property, which represents a significant data protection and security failure. Overall, our experience was unprofessional and stressful. Based on this experience, we would not recommend Foxtons and advise others to exercise caution.

I went to Foxtons at the end of September looking for a new place to move to, I was introduced to Solomon who found us so many places within our budget and every single requirement we had (such as a cat), he found us such a great new cosy place, with a very kind landlord, and a beautiful location, every requirement was met, everything was great as Solomon ran us through the whole process with ease making the whole document and moving process an overall fun experience, (as previous times we have moved it has been a little more hectic), this time was amazing. It has been half a year since I quit the lease, I have sent many emails to urge, and each time the result is sent to my account in 3-5 working days, but I have never received it. I thought Foxton was a big company and I trusted it a lot. But now I'm disappointed and I can't believe that Foxtons hasn't been able to refund my deposit after half a year.

For the fees Foxtons charge, the level of service has been appalling. Despite giving clear instructions about how the tenancy deposit should be handled, they ignored my requests, caused weeks of unnecessary delay, and cited internal procedures with no legal basis. Communication was poor throughout, and I had to chase for basic documentation like an invoice and rent confirmation. Their actions have risked breaching the legal deadline for deposit protection, and I have now referred the matter to the Property Ombudsman and will also be taking legal action to recover costs and fees. For the commission they take, Foxtons should be delivering a far higher standard of service. I would not recommend them to any landlord.

After the typical panic-search through the likes of Rightmove and Zoopla, we decided to focus on individual estate agents. Foxtons had some of the nicest properties and was without doubt the most responsive. From our first viewing, we felt instantly at ease - from what is likely the most stressful/manic housing market in the UK and probably Europe. The properties were significantly nicer than any we had viewed, and our estate agent (Solomon) was personable, reassuring, helpful and ultimately professional, and I genuinely felt he wanted to get us the best match possible. His advice helped us secure what is easily the nicest property we had seen, over our 3-week search. Foxtons have myself and the two other housemates as clients for the foreseeable, and as soon as our tenancy is coming to an end, I will be dropping Solomon a message for his help in our next search. I’m a former tenant of a flat in Strata, where Foxtons was the letting agent, and I can confidently say their service is a masterclass in tenant exploitation. Upon moving out, Foxtons shamelessly refused to refund overpaid rent, inventing absurd excuses about needing the landlord to repay them first, despite the landlord already having refunded them. Despite paying for professional cleaning through Foxtons before leaving, they had the audacity to attempt extorting an additional £250 from me. To top it off, they are now demanding that I pay so-called “letting fees” which I can only interpret as another underhanded attempt to squeeze every last penny from tenants. Frankly, it baffles me why any landlord would willingly throw money at a company so dedicated to ripping off their clients. Update: I disputed the proposed deductions through DPS. DPS decided, as expected, that Foxtons is not allowed to deduct lettings fees from my deposit. I have since received back my deposit in full.
